With Simon Yates one of the favourites at the Vuelta, have 3 different riders from the same country won each of the 3 grand tours in the same year before?

2009 Sastre - Contador - Valverde comes to mind, but I'm not sure about DSQ's and stuff.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Pretty sure Menchov still has the 2009 Giro.
2008: Contador - Sastre - Contador.
Oh and now I see it was three diferente riders

Yeah, I assume that it happens a bit that one rider might win 2 grand tours and another win the third.
But I guess 3 different riders from the same country in the same year could be a pretty rare thing. I guess it was probably more likely back in the day when only the Belgian, Dutch, French, Spanish and Italians ever won anything.

Apparently he does. Career doper, loses his 2009 TdF result but not his 2009 Giro result. So I'm going to give this one to Carlos anyway.

But you keep Contador's and Valverde's?

Well, in my personal opinion, I think Contador and Valverde was a one time thing and they got punished for it. Guys like Menchov, Armstrong, Ricco, they should lose all their results.
In a more legal opinion, I think there should be more consistency in removing results. Armstrong lost his 7 TdF wins, while Riis got to keep his win. Menchov lost his TdF result, but could keep his Giro win 2 months earlier.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

According to Wikipedia the answer is no.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_T..._(cycling)
In 1964 the 3 grand tours were won by two French riders (Anquetil & Poulidor) and in 2008 they were won by 2 Spanish riders (Contador & Satre). But 3 different riders from the same country winning the 3 grand tours has never before happened.
Come on Simon

Aqua Blue Sport will fold at the end of the season, failing to have acquired Sniper Cycling (merge with Verandas Willems) and obtained invitations to important races.

Ivan Ramires Sosa to Trek Segafredo for 2 years. Hope he will not fade as Pantano did and his potential will be fully utilized.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Oh no.. Damn it's a team that I admire a lot, and brought a lot of innovation into the peloton, but I guess they have their reasons and it couls happen to any team.

I think with the whole Verandas controversy started the downfall for the team. They thought that with the acqusition they can get more invitees and have a future star like Van Aert, despite he already agreed on a deal with Team Jumbo for 2020.
And notice something - weeks ago they allegedly have the money to absorb another team and poach his riders, but now have no money to support its own cycling team?

Nah, downfall started earlier than that.
The whining about wildcards wasnt very endearing, after they surprisingly got Vuelta last year. They've also had rubbish experimental equipment this year, and while that obviously wasnt what they wanted, the fact that the team boss was publicly ranting about it was not a good look.
Not surprised the team is ending really - but not impressed that they are also now going to drop out of the Tour of Britain. Sucks for the riders.
