Feel sorry for jandal and sutty, especially jandal as he has a Top5 Goal, who have lost their leaders in a stupid crash today, but i can't deny that it has been a good stage for my own interests.
Another good place for Valls, who is looking really good for Points Jersey now. 37 points off the lead with four stages he can even win all
Really tight to keep KoM
And i'm not going to even comment anything on gaps in the finish... But you can see it

Things are looking bright for Team Reddit, at least for now. Having someone in the breakaway is exactly what I had hoped for, and 2nd is a great result. Anacona also survived the most punchy mountain stage and top 10 now looks like a very reachable goal. |

Urgh this sucks Bennett crashing and losing time AND Salinas dropping back to help a lost cause. All on Salinas for stage hunting and Antón has to hold on to the top 5 now for our goal. All hope of big depth points gone. Just have to cut our losses and salvage a few more points and maybe with a big leaders' bonus, our goal.

Great one for Azteca/Kentaurus congratulations.
Stupid that we (anyone not in that break) would allow a breakaway with Stetina and Rujano, could have been fatal, seen with my eye's good that is was not to be.
Overall a pitty that PCM make so little room for time gains in the flat finish, but I like it just this one time , anyway this was just a teaser, so not over yet!
Sad for jandal/sutty with a fatal crash, just as the fun was about to unfold.
Thanks for one more great report SN.

Sorry for Jandal and Sutty, it's never fair to loose a race like this...
I can't hide tho that my biggest disapointement was Rujano not winning any time (exept 4 intermediate sprint seconds) after having such enormous gaps and very good company (and obviously a tremendous stage).
Still it was a very good display of power by him, also good to see Jiriakov finishing in front showing he got over yesterday's crash and is ready to help in the mountains
Also good win Azteca, only shitty detail was no gaps on flat but it looks promissing

Bennett
At least Anton is still there for Xero. But that sucks.
Even bigger drama for Eddie Stobart, as this will hurt their final rankings big time, I guess. I feel sorry for both. At least our former rider (and our best climber back these days) Shaun Lewis got something out of this stage.

Love getting the breakaway win! Huge job done for Stetina who finished off what was an absurdly strong breakaway group for the first mountain stage. Also a good job from the rest of the team to keep Mannion in the GC hunt as well with his best support up the road.

Sad for jandal and sutty, was looking forward to the battles in the mountains. That being said, Xero has still got the leader's jersey.
The next three stages are where the action heats up, Penasa in prime position. 3 victories out of 3 is all I'm hoping for, is that too much to ask?

We finally managed to catch a break, only took us 6 stages! Feels bad for Xero and Eddie Stobart hopefully this wont be detrimental to their seasons.

Hanging on to the leaders seems like the only strategy for Bardet here!
Bad luck for Eddie Stobart and Xero with Suaza and Bennett crashing. They could've both been in the top 5 otherwise! Will be interesting to see if Bennet starts pulling for Anton now or go for stage wins, and whether Suaza will also start looking for stage wins. Salinas might get into the mix too after losing so much time.
Congrats Azteca on the win

The only good thing I take from this is that Antón now the rider to go. Karnulin should've been in the winning break today...

Dammit Bardet I bet on you and not only that you lose me the race lead. Bad stage for us but no big gaps at least. Nzeke pleasing performance in the break too.

Uh, the AI is kinda starting to kill the hype for me now...
Stage 10 might end up being more important than I originally thought. Was hoping for some time gaps already, but with nothing happening until the end I'm glad Anacona didn't get "out-accelerated". Stage 8 and 9 are the most suited for him, so at least I got that going for me.
Looking forward to stage 8 and 9's intermediate sprints as well, 'cause with these constant weird results, it might even decide who wins the points jersey... |

Not the most interesting stage, but I love to see Rujano doing that stuff on home soil

Great win for Rujano on home soil! Are we sure that there's not anymore a home race bonus?
Not a good stage for us. Rujano is a much dangerous rider to have the "lead bonus" than Anton. We've lost the KoM lead, and instead of picking 3 points of it as the previous stage, only one from this one.
Also Valls, wtf are you doing after being 3rd at the top to finish outside top10. Not only for the 1-2 points lost for not finishing 4-8th in the stage, but also for the Points Jersey. It's still within reach if he can top3 the 3 remaining stages, something it shouldn't be odd, but i would be safer with 5-10 more points now
Tbh, the only positive thing about this stage is that Valls has taken a few valuable KoM points to close in what might be a jerseys domination if he delivers in the big mountain stages

Thanks Everyone! I believe it was Karma after what happened yesterday
This race is already going beyond my expectations, a stage win and leader/KOM jersey and multiple stages in the break, it's as good as it can get.
I'm confident that Rujano will have an excellent support in the following mountain stages, however we're not concerned to loose the leader's jersey as it was never on the table getting it in the first place, those 24 bonus seconds he collected so far might be worth gold when it comes to GC, but of course we're expecting the race to be very attacked in the final stages

Congrats Yellow Jersey! Agreed with Aquarius that Rujano will be a bit more difficult to shake than Anton, but we should see the gaps coming into play with the next two stages (I've been saying that for the past two stages as well, so who knows).
We've really put all our eggs in the Penasa coming 1st or 2nd basket, anything less would be a disappointment. Hopefully he can pull off a couple stage victories/podiums in the next two stages as well, and let Vichot go for the win on the final stage.
Thanks SN, as always
