Campero and Novak not completely lost here, so maybe a slim chance of those two guys within the top 30 - Not that it gives anything...
Congrats to Smowz. Alarcon is great

I see tht Pluchkin is very popular guy and everybody wish him only success...thanks guys
That what class brings, so we dont care much...first part of the plan went perfect and Aleksandr is in pink right after stage4, after nice work of the team and his own ride with two biggest rivals here. Alarcon is great climber, but limiting losses could be enough with superior TT abilities for Aleksandr. Gaining more time on Madrazo is great though.
Now we need to use the power of our great climbing team and also watch out for dangerous breaks in flat stages, we dont want to loose the pink.
Thanks for the nice report sgdanny and congrats Smowzy!

Always nice to see Alarcon get wins, I have liked him since my first season (when he dominated PCT with a really low wage). Then again, a certain Pluchkin is showing that he will prolly win this...

I agree that it's good to see a pure climber like Alarcon win. There should be more riders like him. Also impressive how he did it; pulling at the front of the group and dropping them one by one. Congrats to Smowz!
All things considered I'm pretty happy with this stage. Madrazo was active and gained a lot on his rivals for the podium. Losing some time on Pluchkin is not the end of the world, since beating him in GC was always going to be hard anyway. And time lost on Alarcon can be won back in the long TT. Also a nice bonus to have De Greef lead the mountain classification.
Montoya, Kwiat, Barguil and Guldhammer definitely had a good day, while Cattaneo and Denifl were pretty disappointing.
Thanks for another entertaining report danny.

Another day, another great report danny, keep it up
Congrats to knockout, bit of a weird one but a fantastic result for Evonik! Reclaiming the points jersey with ease too...
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Denifl doing decently so far and a top 10 seems within reach. He's doing better so far than in any PCT race this season. It was also great to see the Thai champ in the break one day and securing himself the KoM jersey for a stage. The TTT was far better than expected. |

Stupid. Blocked. Bongiorno needs to stop that nonsense.
Hoping for a decent selection but a group sprint tomorrow.

And there goes every kind of hope for the points jersey... Great stage from Evonik again. Flying start for them here, congrats knockout!
Looked like it was just to narrow on the way in to the sprint, and combined with our train probably coming forward to early, the result was a chaotic sprint. Rowe doing great though, and saving the day.
Excited for tomorrows stage. Both Trentin and Juul-Jensen should have a chance to do something.

Whoa Evonik is having a great time so far this season. Congrats knockout!
I see my best mountain domestique, Agudelo, finished 9 minutes behind the peloton. Hope he's not injured.

That's also one way to do a perfect 1-2. Congrats, knockout!
Ninth from Holst Enger isn't really great, but he's after all always on his own in these sprint, so it should be impossible to get it right every time.
And thank you for another report and the consistency, sgdanny, eventhough I'm admittedly incredibly disappointed to see the :00 roll end |

Woah congratz knockout, what a performance from your duo here
Pliuchkin in Pink already, have a hard time to see him losing it now. Hopefully Alarcon and Madrazo wil keep testing him in the tough stages though.

Wow, was not expecting Warren Barguil to be doing so well, 11th at this stage is great, but I expect him to drop off.
Seems like Pluchkin may already have this one sewn up, unless Alarcon can carry on his climbing form.

Evonik are riding strong. Big contenders this year... Congrats knockout!
Not the greatest show by Howard really... He even lost a sprint against a rider we are loaning out this season. Great to see Haller doing great for you, SotD!
Thanks for a great report!

Groenewegen in 6th is nice. Though only 1 rider ahead of him was expected there.
Villella in KoM lead is excellent. Hope he continues to go for it.
Stage itself was weird in the finish. Normally should not happen.
Though congrats to Evonik for yet another couple of points. |
