I dunno about purito for Ardennes bar flèche waloonie which suits Mr last kilo kick I don't see it, then again not seeing many big challengers making they're names known here. Gilbert and kwiatek are a bit meh.
Was impressed again by Yates here, I mean sitting there on Quintana's wheel was tremendous stuff.
No idea Zakarin had tested positive before, that is a bit sad. still I hate the hypocritical love of guys like Quintana, purito etc. because they are 'clean, believable' guys over Henao and this young Russian. Hell it seems as if Scarponi and LLS have love somehow.
Sorry but dope or no dope Katusha have ridden super smart in last few weeks Kristoff at de ronde kept his cool. Paolini and purito showed masterclass of their own also. Hats off to them.

First time I heard about Zakarin was yesterday. I can see he has some good results on PCS, but I didnt quite expect him to be this good today...
Edit: Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha) tested positive for doping in 2009. Hope he's riding clean.
It's sad to say but there isn't a chance in hell he is clean
Where you are you can't even detect if he's clean or not so what if he's really clean ? |

He has a history of doping and not much of results. So it's heading towards a cookie cutter case.

There's always suspicion about riders getting doped but in my mind the first one I'm thinking about is kristoff how come he stays in good shape like this for so long and take win after win |

I've read that Makarov & Co. decide after the first half of the year if they keep Katusha running or not (due to economy crisis). However, Kristoff won Ronde van Vlaanderen on Marakov's birthday, and with results like that flooding in so far, well... you do the maths.

Actually, I've never heard of any talk or links about Purito & doping, except for maybe the team's he's been riding for. At least with him, you get what you expect (superb on steep climbs, shitty in TTs), plus his development has been rather conservative over his long career.

I should not start that. But can not help it. Purito is professional cyclist 15 years..he comes from cycling golden era. He started a career at Once..then Saunier Duval, then Caisse..then Katusha non of this teams is not out of dopers list.
I belivee he is also have been victim of system |

THIS! I don't dislike Purito at all but as Guido has said, 15 year pro and victim of the system is a good way to describe it

Victim of the system? That should be some new excuse for cheaters or what? If he doped or dopes, he is the criminal, not a victim.

Praise you good sir, and praise to those cyclists from the '90s and '00s (or earlier) who said no to the system and either did not dope and had at best a mediocre career, or said f*ck it and quit to do a different job!

Yeah, those are/were the victims of the system.

Honestly though I'm pretty convinced Zakarin is doped to the eye balls. Purito and Kristoff are clear for me or at least I really hope so

I know there's doping but can't they (Katusha) be winning clean?

The way its going it looks like any team that wins a race will be under suspicion, until something really clear cut happens then all people can do is speculate (me included) !! |

And yet despite his teams and their reputation, Rodriguez' name is untarnished and not directly connected to anything, ever. He also wasn't particularly successful up until 2010, till then he was a good GC rider (6th & 7th Vuelta 2008 resp. 2009) but at best won stages, so I wouldn't really call him being part of "golden era" just because he was riding in those days.

Just looking through some of ammattipyoraily's data from this season: looks like climbing times are on the up for the 4th year in a row
So far we've had:
Valls beating mutant Froome's record in Oman
Contador/Froome respective freakshows in Andalucia
Skyborg 1-2 in Paris-Nice
Quintana doing nearly 6 W/kg on Terminillo IN A BLIZZARD
and now the fastest time up Arrate since Grandpa Horner five years ago
The GTs this year are going to be... interesting...
