Dan Martin returned in the downhill. Big shot for a stage win for Garmin - Cannondale. |

UUh, I doubt Rolland will lose his jersey tomorrow, but anything can happen you know. If the 7 riders up front had been comitted they could probably have gained some more time but with the stage win on stake, its understandable that some riders choose to ride it out passive and hope to make a jump or win in a sprint. |

I thought it was over but Garmin Master Race returns with a two headed monster
Still in with a shot going into tomorrow. That's all I could hope for.

Seemed like a solid day of racing. Contador back to riding with more ease and implicitness than in Tirreno. Two crashes may have put him down a bit on performance level in Italy but he's on good track for the Giro and that's all that counts.
Seeing Pozzo winning today is a bit disappointing due to his tactis beforehand but due to all the times he put in attacks and moves in recent years, I'm okay with his sneaky win today.

So who you got later? Will Froome go all Landis on us? It feels very open to me... |

I swear to god.. There's currently a hell of a stage going on, and there's still no broadcast, because the Spanish TV that is broadcasting the race isn't ready until 2.30pm to start the transmission...
Rolland is 45 seconds behind a group of 20 units that there's ahead, with all the favourites.

Seems like Bart De Clercq could be moving in to the race leader's jersey after today's stage too.

Great to see Atapuma climbing that well! Tejay also did this one year ago, he has really improved his climbing abilities, hats off to BMC there. De Clercq should be in the lead now, but not with more than some few seconds down to Porte so he shouldnt feel too safe. |

Bart De Clercq leading.. Very interesting. As I said a few pages ago, he's decent anough and the big names aren't in top shape yet. Those last 2 stages look doable as well!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Great win for TVG! Second year running!
Sometimes I really wonder why Dan attacks like that. I know he likes it, but he just picks the stupidest times. based on how he came back at the end, I think he could have really done some damage without that silly move. Either way it was a great ride to finish where he did, and he was obviously really strong.
But the break did win after all, and it was De Clercq, not Rolland who is left leading. Sucks there is only one mountain stage this year, but if yesterday was an indication, I think something could still be settled in the coming days. At least I hope so.
And nice to see Danielson actually doing something again.

Nice win for TVG he looked really strong.
So Porte rides exactly like Froome now? SKY is so dirty it is just sad. The body composition of their riders is just different than the other guys. Look at Alberto compared to Froome and Porte and he looks almost fat next to them. |
