Philippe Gilbert wants to ride the flemish classics again. In an interview with Sporza he says he's even willing to skip Liege-Bastogne-Liege if needed. He wants to win San Remo, Ronde and even Roubaix.
Not sure how the team will react though. With WT points being the only thing that matters right now, they could lose a lot of points in the Ardennes classics if they do what Gilbert wants. Not to mention poor Greg Van Avermeat, who was the undisputed leader and now maybe has to share it with Gilbert again.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Yes, go for it PhilBear. Winning each monument at least once and he'll be a legend of the sport.

But it's just not going to happen! He's talented on the cobbles, history proves that. But can he really get the better of Sagan/Vanmarcke/Cancellara/OPQS over Roubaix's huge length and Rondes relentless grinding these days? Quite simply no he can't.
San Remo is another matter, and if the Pompeiana (or whatever it's called) is included he'll be amongst the favorites. Some smart racing a good form and there is no reason he can't win that one.
Just no way will he win either the Ronde or Roubaix. BMC must give Van Avermaet complete leadership in 2015 after he's come on such a long way. If he crumbles then perhaps give it a thought for 2016 in triple attack of Greg, Phil and Taylor.

Okay, then.. don't try it PhilBear because you'll lose anyway? Hardly that's motivation for a rider of the class of Gilbert.

I just think it would be unfair on Greg, who has proven himself and worked hard to earn Flanders leadership. Phil is a great rider but that shouldn't give him the right to equal leadership with Greg just because he's Phil.
He should go for San Remo and then the Ardennes. He hasn't won a Monument since 2011 and if he wants to change that he should target the type of races he has won in the last couple of years, which is the Ardennes style of race

I can agree he won't win Roubaix, Ronde isn't that impossible though. He had some great results there already + 2 wins in Omloop which is a similar race.
With Gilbert you never know, he's incredibly form-sensitive. He can handle cobbles good enough, he can take a 250km+ distance and obviously you need to give him the advantage on non cobbled hills and maybe even on stuff like the Paterberg. It's so steep I think Gilbert's puncheur skills will be more useful then cobble skills.
Another argument is that he has never done a full cobble orientated race planning. If you see what Wiggo did in Roubaix just by the right preparation, I don't think it will be impossible for Gilbert.

Well as you can see it's the development squad, so has no connection in any way with the WT team, staff and riders. Therefore this will have no impact on the liscense review. Vino is just innocent and anyone who says otherwise is lieing as he is clearly a reformed individual with no remaining links to doping.
Honestly guys this isn;t news
Actually, Astana migth not even have a say on this.
Here's why:
Both this guy and Davidenok, positive's both ocurred while riding for the Kazakh Federation. Obviously, Astana has connects with the Kazakh Federation, and this will probably be turned into Astana. Although, how funny would it be if the Kazakh Federation got shat on, after what happened with Operacion Puerto? |

Johann Tschopp retires at the age of 32.
He will concentrate on mountainbike endurance races in future. |

As retirements go that is one of the strangest lately considering how strong of a rider he still is. Good luck to him on his new venture.

So my favorite womens team announces a new name and its 2015 roster. Both Specialized and Lululemon move over to Boels-Dolmans as technical sponsors. Velocio has been around the team before so it's a good move for them. SRAM just takes on a bigger role. Cervelo will supply the bikes.
The roster keeps on a lot of the same faces. Brennauer and Cromwell are the biggest names alongside Delzenne, Worrack, Wiles, Rowney and Canuel. They add Amialiusik who is pretty good climber, Guarischi who is a solid sprinter, and Kroeger a very talented time trialist.
It's a very good squad, one of the better womens teams. The speciality is time trialing but with riders like Brennauer, Cromwell, Delzenne and Amialiusik they can win almost any race.

Ruben Van Gucht starting his WR attempt in an hour. He's obviously not going to make, but it would be interesting to see how far he can get.

Cycling Reporter for Sporza, I guess he's not as known as Michel Wuyts abroad. He made it to 42,315. Not bad in my opinion.
It started as a stunt on how the WR would evolve with the new rules. If a 43 year old and a mediocre time trialist can do it, how far could a reporter get?

Philippe Gilbert might win MSR maybe even RVV but Roubaix looks impossible.
