BOOM! Nice stage win by Reimer. Vueling would have killed those sprints with both him and Van der Sande
Pretty disappointed in terms of my team's activity or lack thereof in the breakaways. Also a shame to see Viennet go. |

At least Rujano looks always well placed in the peloton, if nothing else. Still would be quite a good thing if my team would actually try to do something in this race...

Damn. It will be very difficult to beat Trofimov now. I need to gain somewhat 7 minutes in the mountains, which just doesn't seem realistic. Nibali and Madrazo will probably overtake Ricco already on the upcoming TT, so keeping them behind on the mountainstages seems impossible.
6th is the likely outcome of this Giro I guess, when Ricco is sound asleep on stages like this.

As typical, the Giro transitional stages haven't been quite transitional as most were expecting. Now, to the proper decisive stages. I'm expecting to have good news coming from the next TT after our good performance in the prologue with Fothen and Balloni.
Keep those stages tumbling SN, thanks for the effort.

This Giro has so far surpassed my highest expectations. Looks unlikely that I'll be winning the points jersey with Trofimov being consistently better than Ponzi on the flat, hills, and mountains, and no doubt the TTs too. But with my haul of stage wins so far, I am far from complaining! Sure, it affects the budget in seasons to come, but heck, I'm much preferring to win lots!

Are you kidding me? I just have read the first stage report (and only that one) to see that Ignatiev is king of PT time trialing.
We were aiming this stage since being given the wildcard, this is dream coming true for Metinvest team!
He is not able to win in PCT, but no problem with that in higher dibision, pcm is so funny. Thanks for the congrats and great report, i am going to read the rest now.

And now i read the 2nd stage report.
Sorry to everyone for that massive pileup caused by Ignatiev, he was still drunk from the 1st stage party.

Lol, Ignatiev is the master crasher, also taking down his leader now.

Indeed. Always those crazy PCT wildcard teams being super nervous when racing with the big stars.

Strong sprinting from Impey on stage 8, third place after a 2 kilometer flat out sprint is a great result. Hopefully our team manages to make another great leadout like the stage he won, then another stage win should be within reach.
And fingers crossed we'll soon start to try to join the breakaways. Thanks for the great pace on the reports, SN! |

Thanks for the pace of the reports SN, really appreciated.
Zingle with another great ride that was close to being rewarded with that stage win. Ah well, he was close.

Thanks for the feedback so far.
I am away for a couple of days now, but I've given roturn the reports for Stages 11 and 12, so there'll still be a new stage every day.

Yes! Very important stage win for the Maglia Rossa (Points Jersey) but why oh why did I make the best looking kit and equipment for a rival team

Well not really a great day for Jose there, but to be expected against the clock.
Still hope the team can keep Jose out of trouble and as fresh as possible as we transition our way to the really difficult final week, starting at stage 14. There are guys like Bakelants for example who surely will struggle in the high mountains (probably not so much Trofimov who surely will be podiuming here).

I lost way less, than I thought here, but gaining 4'30 on Trofimov, just to catch up seems like an impossible feat. I guess only Madrazo will possibly be able to do that, but it seems more than likely that Trofimov can hold on to his podium spot throughout the entire race by now! He really needs to crack up good, to lose it, or for the competition behind to just keep pushing at every single opportunity... But having a guy winning both the TT's and the flat/hilly stages means that A LOT has to be taken on the quite few mountainstages.
I'm only a minute ahead of some dangerous guys, such as Madrazo, Nibali and Martin, so I'm hoping that Ricco can keep up his great work on the mountains. The hills seems to be difficult to get bonus seconds on, but with some luck Ricco can take a few seconds there.

I don't know but I still think that the General Ranking will change a lot, guys like Pluchkin,Ricco,Martin,Madrazo,Nibali,Alarcon, and others can still overtake Trofimov. So I'm hoping for a top-10 at the end and the Points Jersey, anything more will be a big surprise!
