Yes, lets hope he's allowed off the bus within 5 minutes again...
Unfortunately for Cav not many 3rd week sprints which is when his recovery usually gives him a few metres but would still bet on him coming back on the Champs if not before. |

Kittel with an awesome sprint today. Cav really won`t have liked this.
I doubt Greipel could have been able to beat him today if he wasn`t hindered by that crash. |

Agreed.
There was an interview with Koen de Kort on Dutch television right after the finish. According to him the way this sprint went for Argos was planned.
They used Degenkolb early to make sure De Kort and Kittel went into those corners in a good position. Then the plan was to have Kittel wait in De Kort's wheel for the first sprinter to pass and then immediately grab the wheel of that sprinter.
It worked.
Edit: also, before the stage they had a different plan, but they changed it halfway because of usual leadout Veelers not feeling well.

Why De Kort though? Why not have Degenkolb be the leadout?

There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

They used Dege's speed to get first in those final corners which was the most important thing
Degenkolb with an impressive pull today btw. From just under 2 k's untill the last 500

Both Brailsford and Edvald himself seemed fairly optimistic. Collar bone didn't seem broken, but he was shipped off for x-ray to be sure. He'll most likely start tomorrow. |

They probably thought that with Veelers missing, they wouldn't have enough fast men to get them to those corners in a leading position.
The way this finish was set up, if you are too far behind going into those corners, even a leadout of Degenkolb's quality probably wont save you. So they used him early to make sure that Kittel would be near the front coming out of those corners.

On another note Boeckmans has been declassified in the intermediate sprint.
This time the jury sure made a quick decision. |

Guy moves out of his line a little, making him lose a point or twoand it's deserved.
Guy pushes into someone, actually throwing him from his bike at high speeds and it's the other guys fault.

EBH just came from x-ray, not wanting to comment on the results and seemed more bothered than he did previously, so might seem like he has to abandon then. |

There is a big differce between closing the door and touching shoulders.
Closing the door has always been punished with back of the group
Touching shoulders is generally tolerated
