Stage 12
Saham - Ar Rusayl
The first set of mountains are left behind, and now we'll return to the coast, now in Oman. The 12th stage desn't contain big challenges, but the crosswind is back for sure.
Stage 13.
Masqat - Masqat ITT
A rather short, but still hard time trial in the capital of Oman is the next challenge. There are some hills for nearly 10 %, so this will differentiate more than the length would indicate.
@sam:
It is a road up to Col de Sarennes, so that's possible for sure.

I know imeant that the Sarenne hasn't been taken in a Professional cycling event so the race surely is fanatsy
Nice stages!

Because I am ill these days and in great stagemaking-mood the next two stages will come today also.
Stage 14
Masqat - Sur
The last flat stage before the Dubai finish of the Tour, is here already. The riders can stop for a bath here, or they can compete in cycling throughout the Oman coast from Masqat to Sur. In Sur we meet the eastern corner of the race, and this means everything after this will be about getting back to UAE and Dubai (+ some mountains).
Stage 15:
Al Ghabbi - Guyyan
The last stage before the last rest day, and the last stage before the real mountain stages. This looks like a stage where the best sprinters can carry themselves over, but the finish hill will avoid that, with its 1 kilometre 14 % uphill. After the stage the riders will have one day to recover before the tough finish week.
@sam: Then i misunderstood. Not the first time

Stage 16:
Izki - Jebel Kawr
The mountains in Oman is not the steepest in the world, but they are definitely long and high.Todays finish, as an example, is more than 30 kilometres and ends at over 2700 metres. We also have Jebel Habus at this stage, which is shorter, but a bit steeper.

The riders are coming through the city of Al Ayshi. In the background we can see today's first mountain, Jebel Habus. |

Your Middle-East Tour looks very interesting, and great to see the 2007 Deutschland Tour in PCM11 form!

Hey nilserik,
Your stages look great!
Would you mind if I use some of them in a fantasy DB? (I don't even started making it) It will become a public release.

Stage 17
Yanqun - Al Air
One more stage for the riders who like mountains, and the last 40 kilometres is cycled in over 2000 metres above sea level. The climbers will fight for the victory, even with a flat finish.

Stage 18
Al Fanah - Jebel Shams
The queen stage of the race ends at Jebel Shams, the highest point in Oman, in 25 kilometres with 7 %. Also there are quite a few of other hard mountains in this stage, and there will be big gaps.

I really like the profile of stage 18! If the last mountain had a bigger slope it would be good for Basso

Stage 19:
Al Ain - Jebel Hafeet
We are back in UAE for the last three stages. This last mountain stage starts with a long lap in and around the huge city of Al Ain, before the finish on the most famous climbs in UAE, and also in the Middle-East. This is like the Alpe d'Huez in the Tour, and a victory up the wide Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road is really big. Still the mountain is not as hard as the last stages, but the riders do feel it in their legs, and a possible wind up the hill will make this a complete mess.

Just open a .descr file (with the notepad for example). Besides being quite self-explainable, there is a 'tutorial' on the notes of it (explanation of the columns). It's kinda like adding the race to a DB, except with a lot less columns.
Great job on the stages

Thanks
