Solved problem! I have entered in Dyn_variant_stage (I have gone to the column "gene_sz_stage_name" and have checked all the names.
I have changed the characters as this one-> Ç into this one-> C. I also have "fixed" some names as "Arcalis", which were appearing like "[]rcalis". I have stretched that to modify approximately 10 words (I will have modified someone without need ) and now I can bring in Lachi's Editor and in PCM_Planner without problems
Anyone that has this problem and cannot solve it, that sends me a private message
A greeting.
I guess you could do it in the variants file as CrueTrue said but I guess tmobile did it in the save.
Basically you should post the wrong letters here so that the expansion pack add-on can be updated

Mmmm...interesting.
I've looked through the new variants files and don't see any obvious strange looking characters in them, apart from some of the Spanish names (eg Valdepeñas) - but there are already other variants of the Vuelta with the same character - ñ - so would rule this out as a cause.
The default database file doesn't have much in the DYN_variant_stage table either. I presume that is because it's a DYN table and not properly populated until you start a game.
In terms of editing a savegame - I'm not quite sure how tmobile did it as the problem is the save won't open in a the Planner or a database editor.....As Lachi said, a list would be nice as then could maybe try to track down the issue in the .xml files for the races affected. |

Hello partners. I dont have a lot of time and I didnt keep a copy of all modifications that I did. Here I leave a few examples to you that sure that will help you with the problem.
You have to bear in mind that there are the same characters as the editor of the game does´nt accept (Ç, Â, Á, etc). You bring in the table/column that I indicated you and you will fix it in 5 minutes.
I here leave a sample to you of as I fixit the previous errors so that they were not giving me problems.
I hope that this should serve to you to be able to correct the problem, if in a few days I have slightly more of time, I will do a few captures with all the tidy names
Also it is important to be sure that some of the modifications that I have done is possible that they were not necessary (its possible that they were not the culprits of the error), but it does not give any problem to fixit anyone of more
A greeting to all.

I played a little around with the problem and seem to have found the solution. If you open a savegame with the Full Editor you find these two "invalid characters" or whatever we should call them. I have highlighted the two places which require editing in the attached screen dump. Once these two stage names are fixed savegames open no problem in Lachi's season planner.
Have fun.
Sorry for double posting but well the discussion has gone on here but still I think it's valid information in the other thread as well.
Edit: Now this issue is solved maybe it's time for Boonen to reclaim the RvV throne

Have you tried to do what the message says? (remove spaces from the file name).

Depending on the database you use, but for me it's in:
C:\Users\user\Documents\Pro Cycling Manager 2011\Users\Paul\Database\Solo\PCMdailyExpansionPackV1

And just to complement, what changes depending on the DB you use is the name of the last folder (which is gonna be the name of the DB).

I've posted my question in your german forum as well.
So i've tried to open my pre-beta2012db with your pcm planner and this error occurs.
----An error occured----
Die angegebene Umwandlung ist ungültig.
----Stacktrace----
bei PCM_SeasonPlaner.DBLoader.CalculateParticipatingCyclists(Int16 intIDrace)
bei PCM_SeasonPlaner.DBLoader.FillHelpColumns()
bei PCM_SeasonPlaner.DBLoader.ImportDatabase(Object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e)
bei System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.WorkerThreadStart(Object argument)
How can i fix this crash? I changed some variant stage names, but the error is still there.
Thanks ! |

There really is no need to post the same question twice, just wait for an answer. |

If there is an error in the DB, why would you install the game, the patch and my planner?
You can use an editor to fix your career. The error is in the stage with the ID 5057. Change the fkIDrace to 539. |

Hi Lachi,
Thanks for all your hard work with this game & add-ons.
Recently installed the 2012 pre-beta database and getting the following error when trying to load a new save:
----An error occured----
Specified cast is not valid.
----Stacktrace----
at PCM_SeasonPlaner.DBLoader.CalculateParticipatingCyclists(Int16 intIDrace)
at PCM_SeasonPlaner.DBLoader.FillHelpColumns()
at PCM_SeasonPlaner.DBLoader.ImportDatabase(Object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e)
at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.WorkerThreadStart(Object argument)
Any ideas as tried different saves and different versions of your planner?
Cheers.

Hi Lachi,
first of all tthx for this great tool!!!!
I have the following problem with it:
After the db2012v1 came out I used your editor to change all the race dates according to the 2012 season. I took care not to have the 29th february involved and also put the correct gene_i_computed_date for every stage. I started my season but when opening it in your planner the following comes up:
---an error occured---
Die Parameter "Year", "Month" und "Day" beschreiben eine nicht darstellbare DateTime.
I double checked all my changes and found no mistakes. Even if I take the original db and change a couple of dates the planner works fine.
Any ideas? help would be much appreciated....
cheers |

Did you also change STA_program_info? If not, you should be glad it's crashing. The starting lists will be horrible for the races you've moved
There's a reason why the dates aren't changed in the PCM.daily DB, and it's simply that there's quite a lot of work involved more than just changing the dates. Unless you're doing that work, I wouldn't recommend that you change the dates. |
