A few days until the start so I figured I'd start a new thread.
Can anyone see past Pogacar if he stays fit throughout?
I still can't believe Quickstep aren't taking Cavendish. I get that Jakobsen is clearly the better sprinter at the moment, but the media coverage you would get from Cavendish winning 1 stage, or even going close throughout the Tour, would outweigh Jakobsen winning a handful. What was the point of re-signing him if you aren't going to take him to the Tour?

Definitelx Pogi for the win, the guy is a phenomenon. No idea how legit but he is also fun to watch so I might just sit back and enjoy the watts show

Surprise, surprise! Bora left Sam Bennett at home and are bringing van Poppel as main sprinter instead. Actually, the man who’s supposed to act as a leadout for Bennett has done better than him all year so I kind of comprehend this decision, unless illness caught the better of the Irishman. |

I care, cycling is not only about who wins the GC for me. Every day we will have a race with a winner, we will look for new interesting upcoming talents, we will see someone doing much better that expected maybe getting their first grand tour podium. Where will be the fight for dots and green, and there will be the chaos, the wind, the crashes and the GC riders off days.
TDF is amazing exactly because it not just who ends on top in Paris. ANYWAY their is no guaranty Poga will finish on top, although is clearly most likely outcome.

Pogocar crashes out on the first day and McNulty wins the Tour.
In all seriousness, McNulty has had trouble with consistency even in one week stage races, but I have an outside hope he'll sneak into the top 20 through his support of Pog.

I set up bets for GC winner, points and mountain classification, as well as a small side bet for the best non-Pogi young rider. If you have any neat ideas for other bets, like head to heads or something completely different, send me a PM, ideally with odds included, and I can put them online.

Tadej Pogačar! That was that race! The others still do not have a chance against that man. |

Meintjes was 24th yesterday, unironically one of the higher finishing team leaders. This man is so putting Intermache inside the GC top-10 again.

Still running behind on everything, so:
- Great win for Lampaert, he really needed that after the Tour of Belgium controversy (which was justified, but as usual a few Belgian cycling fans took it too far).
- Really happy Jakobsen won one before Groenewegen did.
- Poulidor is no longer "l'éternel second"
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I have seen teams come to the tour with 2 or 3 leaders for the gc before. None of them have won it..
I do simply not support that idea.. One leader for gc rocks.
Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.

Simmons sanctioned with 500 CHF 25 UCI points 40 points and 1 KOM points for riding off path on the grass....
this made me laugh as I saw live during the stage at least 10 riders doing the same, included Pogacar

Ya, those sanctions are always very random and only based on what is shown on TV.
