Everyone loves jumping on a bandwagon, so here we go! The story section is seeing a bit of a renaissance and you know what, it has inspired me to come back myself.

This is going to be a quick Grand Tour story, covering Team Sunweb at the Giro d'Italia, and Tom Dumoulin's fight for the Pink Jersey.

The stages will be run and reported in blocks (so 2-3 at a time) so it might be a quick story but it will be what I need to get playing PCM again, get story writing again and getting back on Daily more regularly.

Game Information
Database: PCM19 Lite Pack V2
Patch: 1.0.3.9
Crash Frequency: x 1.1
Difficulty: Normal (I need to get used to the game again)

Thanks man! If I can find the official start list in PCM format then yes, I will use that. I cannot remember for the life of me how to create one on PCM anymore...

Thanks a lot - never played as Sunweb before, so testing it out as they are an option for a career / 2019 story on here

Fight For Pink - Team Sunweb
The 2018 Route
www.sbs.com.au/cyclingcentral/sites/sbs.com.au.cyclingcentral/files/pink.jpg

The 101st Edition of the Giro d'Italia kicks off in Israel, with 3 stages across the country before heading to Italy for the first Grand Tour of 2018. It is the first time a Grand Tour has started outside of Europe, and only the 13th time the race has started outside Italy.

Jerusalem will host the opening ITT, before the peleton takes in the historical cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa, Be'er Sheva and Eilat for two stages for the Sprinters. We fully expect the Pink Jersey to be on the back of the sport's best riders against the clock as they begin the long transfer to Europe.

i.imgur.com/StiUqfM.jpg

The Giro will hit Italian roads on the isle of Sicily, where rolling stages will most likely rule out the sprinters claiming further glory but could head advantage back to those who fancy their chances from a breakaway into Caltagirone and Santa Ninfa. Stage 6 will be the first time we see the GC men do battle, as the slopes of Mount Etna and the first MTF of the Giro awaits. Possibly too early for full blown fireworks, but it will be an early tester of the legs.

Mainland Italy will be reached on stage 7, with a parcour for the punchers rather than the sprinters before we see 2nd MTF of the race on Stage 8 into Montevergine ahead of the second rest day of the race.

The 2nd week of the race will be more of the same from week 1, with rolling stages upsetting the sprinters, before they will get their chance to see what they have in the legs on a stage finishing on the famous Imola race track.

The main focus of Week 2 though will be Stage 14, and the hell limb of the Mount Zoncolan! The Zoncolan's raw numbers speak for themselves – 10.1km at an average of 11.9 per cent – but such extreme gradients can sometimes place an upper limit on the time gained and lost among the favourites... Who will come out the other side in the Maglia Rosa?

www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/cycling/2018/05/22/TELEMMGLPICT000164048249_trans_NvBQzQNjv4Bqek9vKm18v_rkIPH9w2GMNtm3NAjPW-2_OvjCiS6COCU.jpeg

The punishment does not stop there either, as a difficult stage to Sappada hits the riders before the final rest day of the Grand Tour. The final week starts with a 34km ITT before the sprinters get their final chance before Rome to take some Maglia Ciclamino points on the board.

From there though, we will be just be looking skywards, with 3 mountain top finishes in a row on Stages 18, 19 and 20! Stage 19 is the Queen Stage of the race, and it is here the peloton will hit the Cima Coppi of this Giro, and one of the most famous recent climbs in the cycling world - The mighty Colle delle Finestre!

The race finishes in Rome for what should be a procession for the 2018 winner of the Giro and a celebration of the last 3 weeks. Obviously it will end in a mass sprint for the win, but with a course like this, how many will be left to contest it at the end!

Yes another story to bring another doze of oxygen into PCM.....

Good luck - Like Sunweb as a team but sadly Wilco crashed and won't start in Giro.

No Wilco is a shame but let's hope the team around Dumoulin will be good enough Smile

The Fight For Pink - Team Sunweb
Team Presentation
www.bikeraceinfo.com/images-all/giro-images/images18/18-giro-pre/18-giro-00-presentation-sunweb.jpg

Jeruselum, 3 May 2018

Welcome to Israel for the Team Presentation of the 101st Giro d'Italia.

2017 winner Tom Dumoulin is back with his Sunweb team, as he looks to defending his title, and has been backed by a very strong team for this year's race.

Fellow Dutchman Sam Oomen will be his key right hand man on the road, along with compatriot Laurens Ten Dam and the young Belgian climber Louis Vervaeke.

American Chad Haga and Australian Chris Hamilton will provide further backup on the lower climbs of the Giro, whilst the Dutch pairing of Roy Curvers and Lennard Hofstede will be all round dometiques on the flatter stages.

Quite the competition, Tom won't have an easy challenge ahead

tsmoha
Go, Tom! And would be great, if you allow Chris Hamilton to join some breakaways Wink

Oh and of course I will have to cheer for Jack Haig. May Yates crash out and Haig take over the leader's role for Mitchelton Cool

It will be tough, but I think he might have what it takes in the high mountains. Stick with Froome and it could be the ITT that decides it...

I'm sure it can be arranged for a few breaks with Hamilton - he will not be domestique on every stage Wink
