Welcome to the Garmin - BikeNZ Cycling HQ. Here we will try our very best to keep you as up to date with our affairs as possible!
_______________________
As a team we are moving into our third season and we hope it is our best. We have had a rather rough start as a team but hope to improve this season as we set our sights to the transfer window looking for a strong GC rider to really take this team that one step further then we currently are at. With Tim Roe back we should be able to do better then last season however we can't rely all our efforts on just the one rider.
_______________________
With Garmin now backing us it gives us for funds and equipment to use in our quest to hit the top of the PT in a few years time. BikeNZ stays on board with the condition that we sign a few more kiwi riders to go with Taylor Gunman, who had an incredible season last year winning a stage and coming 10th in GC in the final race of the season. USA is also where we are now based which means we must now look for some American riders and that is where we hope to find a strong GC rider as well as a few young riders to develop over the next few years.
_______________________
Finally, the management team would like to welcome all of you to our 3rd year as a professional team and hope that you all follow closely with great interest!
Welcome to Garmin-BikeNZ Cycling Team!!!

Looking at the team it is not the most incredible or strong team in the CT. However, this team has a great base and a lot of potential among the riders. If our leaders perform, we have a lot of potential to do very well this season. With Campero coming in and Roe returning, we now have a lot of potential in mountains and stage races! Von Hoff stays the same but hopefully this season he can perform to his ability and win his first stage in ManGame history!
Overall we can definitely do well this season and we all hope that as a team we can improve on our results last season. It will be very hard to get to the top 10 but we will all try our very best!

Best team with Bakari on board. Krasno won a race last year so I guess we'll be seeing Bakari do the same this time round?
Love your jersey too, the Orange compliments the blue and argyle pattern really well.

Would be great to see Bakari winning some cobbles races for the team! Especially in his NC jersey however, after the season he had I can't really see it happening...Although we hope for the best!

Garmin-BikeNZ National Champions!!
Sonomtseren Delgerbayar
This Mongolian rider is a true champion! He has been a national champion on multiple occasions and this year is no different! Sono will be wearing the Mongolian RR champion jersey as well as the TT champion jersey! He has done the double and is now the sole Mongolian champion for the entirety of 2017!
Sono is 29 years of age and still has room to grow! With his "XP" being at 4 he has the chance for a loan to the PT over the next few years to "MAX" out is "XP" and become an even better rider then he already is! A true champ of a rider. Sono rides for himself sometimes but even though he is the best Mongolian, he always puts the team first. He is a real team player and has amazing road experience to lead the younger riders. This is what makes Sono a true champion!!

Aleksa Crncevic
Aleksa is a rather new cyclist. We picked him up as a stagaire last season and are very excited to see him race in his first season as a full time pro! Aleksa will have the pleasure of wearing his countries colours throughout the 2017 season. He may be the only rider from Bosnia and Herzegovina but he also deserves to be the dual national champion as well!
Aleksa is only young but he has already earned the honour of wearing his colours in every race he does throughout the season as the dual national champion. We are very excited to see how Aleksa develops as he has a huge amount of potential and we expect him to be topping the CT in only a few short years!

Amadou Bakari
BAKARI!!!!! Is the usual response when someone takes a punt on the cobbler Amadou Bakari. We have put a lot of faith in this guy as we move into our second season with the rider. Without a victory last season Bakari wanted to prove himself to the team and he did just that taking a stylish win in the Gabon RR national championships!
This was enough to put a little faith back in the old fella and we may very well keep him for one more season and see if he has the legs to get us a victory over those cobbles. He is now in an amazing looking Gabon national jersey so his confidence should be as high as ever before! As said the future of Amadou is still being sorted however, we may end up keeping this guy for at least one more season.

Lotto Petrus
We won the Lotto with this guy Lotto is an incredible team rider and will be racing with the Namibian TT champion jersey this season! He has done fairly well in TT's last season however he never had a win or stand out performance. This season we think that may change as he has a lot of confidence after taking the win in the National Champions TT race.
We hope for him to continue his form this season and really show everybody what the Namibian TT champ can do!!

Renewals is a stressful time as a team manager is unsure as to whether re-sign the rider or release them to free up some wage budget space. This year was no different. The initial plan was to release some of the unnecessary riders who underperformed last season like De Vocht and Bakari. However, we then decided that if we can cut their wage down, we could sell said riders during the transfer window and make more money in order to purchase that long needed stand out GC rider.
In saying this we have re-signed every rider however, saved €211,000 while doing so. The biggest cut in wage coming from De Vocht with a €38,000 cut. However, every rider was happy to stay on even with the cuts and we look forward to the coming transfer window and season!
