New season, new thread.
As last season, I'd like you to make proposals of calendar changes for next season.. What races did you like, which would you prefer to be removed or put in a lower category. What races would you like to be added to the calendar?

Also the first 2016 database is downloadable now: https://www.mediafire.com/download/42h...stdev.xlsx
All stat changes are in and teams that are no part anymore are removed.

I decided to keep the Telecom Namibia Team in the game as I felt the African focus is still kept to low overall. The team will of course release the Spanish riders and only consist of Africans and have a very low budget.
Due to a massive domination in the TTs I decided to lower Tony Martin's TT stat by one. He still is two above every other. mvhoogdalem will get a little compensation. One part of that is that I'd like to add some more possibilities for TTists to the calendar, suggestions for that are welcome.
The new DB has two more columns. The first one is connected with the new Age of Decline, which now can differ between riders. At 25 the AVG stat of each rider is taken and an Age of Decline according to that is calculated.
Spoiler AVG | AoD | 80+ | -3 | 79+ | -2 | 76+ | -1 | 70- | +1 | 64- | +2 |
Hope everyone is fine with that change and considers it balanced. The new column is about years that were added to the AoD through research.
The second new column is "LS" which stands for Last Season. If that column is red it's the riders last season and he'll retire after that. By that you can take that into your future plannings.

written by The Rider:
Minimum no of riders for teams: 23 for WT teams 16 for CT teams, maximum:30
CT2 race eligibility: Must be below 76.00 in AVG.
Dev teams:
Riders with an average of 72.00 or below and an age up to 23 will be available for dev teams.
8 - 10 riders make up a dev. team.
The added up wage of your dev team should be 1000-1500.
Race Planning:
#1 Every rider has to race at least 20 race days and not more than written in the DB.
#2 Riders are not allowed to take part in clashing races, please remember that.
#3 You have to send full teams to WT races and a minimum of 5 riders to CT races, if you can't manage to do that pm me and we'll find a solution.
Race Day Numbers:
WT: WT teams have 205 race days of which they already spend 168 on WT races. The rest will be in CT. The teams have the option to ride up to 15 CT.2 racedays. However in these races they aren't allowed to use riders with an average of better than 76.
CT: CT teams have 160 race days which will majorly be used on CT.1 and CT.2 races. They are also allowed to apply for wildcards for WT races. But the WT races they apply for aren't allowed to have more than 50 racedays combined.
U23: U23 teams have 87 race days. They are already assigned to U23 tour races which have 55 race days. The rest will be used on CT.1 and CT.2 races. They are not allowed to race more than 10 racedays in CT.1. They are also not allowed to participate in two clashing races. If a U23 team really wants to ride a CT.1 race it is allowed to back out of max one U23 race.

I would totally love to sneak one - or even both, because yolo - of tsmoha's GTs in the calendar, maybe as a Continental GT.
Tour of Southern Africa especially would be totally perfect for CT; not too hard mountain stages, fair amount of hills and tts.
Also IIRC we had La Descente Pavée last year as well. Well imo that's pretty pointless to have - even though I said exactly the opposite last year lol - and could well be replaced by a more interesting race, like this one:
Or this one:
Something like Samu12's Tour of Czech Republic would be nice too!

The new AoD dynamic really makes leveling up your riders quite a nice twist. I appreciate it!
Very little amount of FAs compared to previous season. The transfer market will be carnage.

Yeah was just noticing that as well
Didn't think I would ever say this but... I'm really looking forward to steals

Probably all the retired riders that make the FA market look small?
I'm scared and excited about the steals. One or two guys I'd really like, but I fear too many steals to answer. Last year I had 3 attempts or so, and I could counter 2 and let the third one go, but I'm expecting a lot more this year
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Not a big fan of this move, just like the Sagan move. If the likes of Martin are considered too good then I feel that should be solved by massive wage prices being asked for, not stat lowering, like him asking for more than the wage record as an example: then if mv doesn't pay it he goes to the free market then stat decreases can be added.
Would like to know the compensation mvhoogdalem gets anyway. On the other hand it is better that the competition is more level than it would have been otherwise!

Excited that the season is coming along anyhow. |

Well I guess in the interim I'll consider my potential team (the free agents for now at least).

ICL 16 - Transfers - Part 1 Steals
Download here: https://www.mediafire.com/download/29c...teals.xlsx
The first part of the transfer season are the steals. You can offer riders, that rode for another team in the season before, a contract. The rider will sign for you if the offered wage is (a lot) higher than what his current team would pay him.
But the current team of a cyclist will always have the first chance to sign the cyclist for next season. In the time of renewals the rider will demand a wage close to the one offered by the other team. If you agree you block the tries of a steal, if you don't accept the rider will leave the team to the highest bidding other team. The wage the rider will demand will be 0% - 20% less then the highest offer for a steal. It also depends on the riders loyalty (=years in team).
So now onto how the sheet works:
1 As always in the first table put your team ID in C1. You will find your team ID in "Budget". You will also find your budget for the season there. It depends on how you did in your focus races and in the rankings. New teams have 4500. A development team will give 1200 on top.
2 Go to DB look for riders you'd like to steal and put your offers in column AL.
3 Copy colums A-C in the table PM and pm it to me.
General rules:
1 You can only try a steal on a max of 5 riders.
2 You can try a steal on a max of 2 riders from one team.
3 You will notice when you offend one of those rules. AR1 will turn red and also in "PM" there will be a note.
Please keep your budget in mind. The stealing shouldn't be the main part of transfers it's only to give people a chance to sign a rider they think would be perfect for their team.
I'll give you 48 hours for this task. I don't expect a pm from anybody. So if I don't get anything I just assume you don't want to steal riders. |

Sorry for the double post but I thought you'd like to know how the budget was calculated:
WT teams have a base budget of 7250, CT teams of 4500. To that various stuff is added.
First part is the season rankings. A team will get based on the final prestige rankings, points awarded based on the following formula:
OWN POINTS/WINNER POINTS * 900. So the winner will get 900 a team with 50% of the points of Gazprom gets 450.
Spoiler Gazprom Cycling Team | 900 | CarbonSports Cycling p/b Lightweight | 892 | Prorace - Camtel | 815 | Ecopetrol - Vivo | 760 | Liberty Seguros - Würth | 684 | Allianz - BMW Cycling Team | 654 | Air China | 638 | Filliers - Mora Pro Cycling Team | 609 | LA Aluminios - Antarte | 496 | Celesio Pro Cycling | 486 | Avia - Orlen Oil | 477 | LIUCPBM3CGIPBT | 453 | Vegeta Cycling Team | 446 | Team Bunzl - Centrica | 432 | Smartone Cycling Team | 427 | Eurosport - Pepsi | 425 | Telecom Namibia Cycling Team | 408 | Fiskars Cycling | 356 | Bulgaria Air | 349 | Team Parmalat - HTC | 340 | Saeco - Cannondale | 337 | Team Istanbul Cycling | 318 | ExxonMobil - Geberit | 290 | Fred Whitton Race Team | 286 | Swiss Life Team | 281 | SAP - Bianchi | 269 | Team Cymru Wales | 267 | TVM - Sanyo | 213 | Air Baltic - Rietumu Racing | 195 | Velux - Saxo - IBM | 191 | Petronas - HTC Pro Cycling Team | 188 | La Gazzetta Dello Sport - Gaerne | 159 | Peugeot Cycling Team | 156 | Geox - Kalev Cycling Project | 155 | Rapha - Rouleur Pro Cycling | 83 |
Then there is another sum added based on how you did in your focus races. This number can also be negative (that's why Gazzetta dello Sport has less money than the new teams).
The more prestigious a race is the more points can be gained, but also lost. If the percentage of points a team won in the race compared to the total is higher than the average, the number is positive, else negative.
See how you did in your focus races, this is the money you get added or deducted from your budget:
Spoiler Liberty Seguros - Würth | 649 | Gazprom Cycling Team | 635 | Ecopetrol - Vivo | 600 | Air China | 521 | Prorace - Camtel | 499 | Smartone Cycling Team | 488 | Celesio Pro Cycling | 483 | Allianz - BMW Cycling Team | 473 | CarbonSports Cycling p/b Lightweight | 438 | LA Aluminios - Antarte | 387 | Eurosport - Pepsi | 299 | LIUCPBM3CGIPBT | 293 | Avia - Orlen Oil | 245 | Team Istanbul Cycling | 226 | Team Bunzl - Centrica | 199 | ExxonMobil - Geberit | 193 | Telecom Namibia Cycling Team | 163 | Petronas - HTC Pro Cycling Team | 118 | Bulgaria Air | 112 | Team Cymru Wales | 101 | Fiskars Cycling | 88 | Velux - Saxo - IBM | 79 | Saeco - Cannondale | 53 | Air Baltic - Rietumu Racing | -5 | Filliers - Mora Pro Cycling Team | -38 | Team Parmalat - HTC | -42 | Vegeta Cycling Team | -50 | SAP - Bianchi | -94 | Rapha - Rouleur Pro Cycling | -173 | Geox - Kalev Cycling Project | -188 | Peugeot Cycling Team | -193 | TVM - Sanyo | -207 | La Gazzetta Dello Sport - Gaerne | -210 | Fred Whitton Race Team | -210 | Swiss Life Team | -235 |
----------------------------
Also something on the krisa to WT discussion in the other thread: I'm also of the oppinion that krisa would deserve a spot in the WT after being two years active in the game, but imo sutty deserves that spot as well with his team. The next in line would be TVM anyways so maybe Gazzetta will finally promote to WT next season.
Only solution would be to increase the WT to 20 teams, but I'm against that, because than I would not be able to give as much wild cards for WT races to smaller teams.
---------------------------
On the GT in CT: Allthough I'm a big fan of tsmoha's stages, I don't really like the idea of a CT GT. Already with the Vuelta a Colombia the we have a pretty long race and there not many teams showed up.
If someone would make a shorter version of one of tsmoha's GTs I could add that to the calendar, but 21 race days is definitely to long. |

You know what, I'm a new team so I'll just not whittle my budget away with steals. I'll just stick to FA and transfers for now.

I still don't think steals should exist. It's unfair to managers that carefully build a squad from scratch. I certainly won't be stealing any as with last season and anybody that tries stealing from me will lose all my respect. If you want one of my riders, send me a PM and I'm sure we can discuss a fair deal.
As for the new teams, I'd just wait if I were you. There will be plenty of riders released and you'll get them for less money.

@brewers: Not to create an argument, as I respect your opinion, but the thing with steals is that it makes the market more accessible, my team is joining the WT this season so I'm a few steps behind other teams, especially as I am keeping to a general location, it's going to be hard to get leaders, especially as some teams don't want to let there riders go, and there are others I can't afford, there are a top level free agents, but also a lot of bidding on them. So steals give a chance to grab a leader in a way that the other team can't simply say 'No' and negotiations are over, it also makes it harder for a team to simply get one of the top riders and keep the indefinitely, which makes it even harder for new teams entering the market or that part of the market.
Really not trying to dispute your opinion, I just want to bring up that there is another side to this, as it really makes the market more accessible, (and I only tried to steal 1 or 2 riders anyway and not really top ones )

(I'm not gonna be part of the steals discussion by the way, but whoever tries to steal one of my top guys should fear my revenge )

I'm definitely with brewers on this one.
Won't be doing any steals because although I wouldn't mind grabbing a top rider it would leave the other team without a rider they have worked for to get.
I expect one or two of my riders may be potential steal targets of other teams but their loyalty should keep them with the team.

Really mature guys. I see since the last time we discussed little changed in your cartell view of who is "deserving" of the top riders; even when last season steals had very little effect anyway, and yet you still complain about it like someone is to take away your favourite toy and arn't even afraid to play the "If you do it I don't like you"-card. As if someone on the internet cares about that.
For a new and/or upgraded team it's viable way of getting hands on a sub-tier top-rider and it keeps the dynamic of the transfer market open. There are even clear limits of what do and don't do. And if you fear that the prices go too high up, well prices are likely going up anyway. If someone sees the higher value in a rider than you and can afford it, why shouldn't he try to get an early signing and make life easier on him. Teams are founded with the prospect of signing a certain guy away in reality too. Sometimes there's just a team willing to pay more in reality. Topsport Vlaanderen doesn't cry about it and sees it as part of the business when their teams go to someone who pays them more, and they actually work to build their team.
I have not made any steal attempts and probably won't do it now (I'll be busy defending mine), I hope for some shake-ups though.

Is there any kind of beginner guide about what to do as a new player of the game? Or maybe someone could tell me? I've entered with my team(s), and now I'm pretty lost...
