Hey everyone, as I am feeling a need to stray away from Be A Pro Mode for a little while (the obsession is real) I have decided to create my first Career mode story following a REAL rider. As I want my story to be the best it can be, I am asking for suggestions and help choosing the rider to portray in my career. I am open to anything from Sprinter to Cobbler to Stage Racer, and I had a few ideas
Mathias Frank IAM All Around
Thomas De Gendt - Lotto Soudal- Break Specialist
Jonathan Castroviejo - Movistar- TT
Steven Kruijswik LottoNL Jumbo- All Around
Vasil Kiryienka- - SKY TT/Climber
Grega Bole- - CCC- Puncher
Dani Navarro - - Cofidis- All Around
Wilco Kelderman- LottoNL Jumbo- All Around
Adriano Malori- Movistar TT
Gianni Meersman- - Etixx- Puncher/Classics
Warren Barguil- - Giant Alpecin All Aroud
Valerio Conti- Lampre Classics
Robert Kiserlovski saxo climber
Janier Acevedo Colombia Cannondale/Garmin Climber
Now these are just riders I brainstormed while watching the NC's today, I am more than happy to accept write-ins. And I want you all to help me choose who to ride with!
So lets say 24 hours or so and any rider on my list or write ins that receives the most votes from my forum friends will be the one I choose.
Please also leave suggestions on how to make the best story, I want this to be enjoyable for all and something lots of you would be interested in following!
And if im crazy and this is a bad idea let me know that too! Haha!
thanks for your support and input and I look forward to starting soon!

Would love to see a story following Frank or Bole.

Seriously though, you have to pick a rider that is interesting for you, not necessarily for us. In the end, you write for yourself, and it's most important for you to keep motivation.
Here is a class guide for stories by one of PCMdaily's main writers. It is definitely recommendable to read that through, for tips.
Even though it's old it still works for about 99%
For the reason above, I'm going to pick a rider from your list.
Kruijswijk and Frank have my priority.
Although smaller riders like Bole and Wegmann are also fun, Wegmann is a bit old for a story though, in my opinion, just like a few others from this list, some of those are close to retirement already.

Thomas De Gendt would be an interesting pick for me. But Jesleyh nailed it, you need to decide what works for you.

Thank you for your votes and suggestions so far...especially you Jesleyh! I have amended my original post with some new and younger riders. I guess try to stick with those on the original list as I really do enjoy all of those guys. So I'd be more than motivated and have lots of fun with any one of them!!
So far:
Kelderman- 1
Bole-1
Frank-2
Kruijswik-1
De Gendt-2
Rule for voting! 2 riders per person, so a primary and secondary choice only please!
Thanks again!

Well, I vote for De Gendt, too. He can make things interesting going for breaks, KoM, stage wins but also the occasional time trial and even GC when he feels like it
Barguil as secondary vote |

Kelderman, if Jesley has given up somebody may as well do it
Would also like this see a Bole or Kiriyenka

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Alright, well thank you everyone for your votes! We have a 3-way tie for the lead here! So I think what I will do is see which rider gets 3 votes the fastest, the finalists are:
Bole-CCC
De Gendt-Lotto Soudal
Kelderman-LottoNL Jumbo
Only one vote this time please!
Also, is the screenshot keys different on this year's model? I tried to screenshot a few times, and it did not work. If anyone can help on this it would be greatly appreciated! |
