Gisborne GP
We're heading for New Zealand, where the Gisborne GP goes into it's third edition. With Strade Bianche held at the same day, it's always an interesting question, which teams went for a gamble here. Past winners have been Cyril Gautier (2014) and Francesco Ginanni (Vespa).
A challenging 226km hilly parcours will surely make for a tough day. The second half of the race features several steep climbs, with a short uphill finish as the ultimate highlight.
The Startlist
The Favorites Rider | Hi | Rider | Hi | Klemme | 80 | Bennett | 76 | Betancourt | 79 | McEvoy | 76 | Monfort | 79 | Siskevicius | 76 | Levarlet | 79 | Ziesler | 76 | Kwiatkowski | 78 | Haas | 76 | Bellis | 78 | Anderson | 75 | Craven | 78 | Stachowiak | 75 | Vakoc | 77 | Rabie | 75 | Hoogerland | 77 | Rocchetti | 75 | Juul-Jensen | 77 | Konrad | 75 | Zeits | 77 | Kolobnev | 75 |
On paper, the startlist ain't exactly packed with too many outstanding puncheurs: Klemme as the only 80+ here. The German will surely aim for the victory.
Betancourt, Monfort and Levarlet as the next best puncheurs. While Levarlet has yet to show his real class, both Betancourt and Monfort already proved to be real threats in races like this. Also Kwiatkowski, Bellis and Craven are likely to be in the mix for line honours.
A few more names will hope for the Top-5 at least: Vakoc, Hoogerland, Juul-Jensen or Zeits as the more promising contenders, while local hero George Bennett will aim high as well.

Weak starlist i'm sure a couple of managers wish they were here now Bellis being number 1 is hopeful and he's always good on these long courses though one usual beats him I think Betancourt will today |

Another race for Kwiatkowski, and I think this course suits him. Hopefully his mountain stat is taken into account which would make him a real threat, but if not a top 5 is probably still possible.
Thanks for another good preview tsmoha. |

I somehow doubt that klemme will take it. Kwiatek or Betancourt are top candidates.
Siskevicius needs a great day to get a strong result. A top 15 would be cool. . Hopefully, one of the rest will join the morning break.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Brought Zeits and had some luck (finally) with an easier stattlist.

Hope Klemme can at least deliver a podium result; if he can't bring in good results on a day like this when many rivals racing the Strade instead, it's going to be a very long season! A bit of a gamble sending him here rather than Italy, but thought better chance of the race properly breaking up here and avoiding a large group sprint. He still has decent support, although chief lieutenant Chaves instead gets the opportunity to lead in Italy. Still worthy opposition on start line even with the big race clash.

Glad it´s not the toughest startlist gives some hopes that Hoogerland can get a decent result!

Sending a strong team here. Everyone bar Meyer really. Hopefully I'll get two guys in the top 10 and Levarlet can show himself..

Figured most managers would probably send their best puncheur to the clashing HC race, so decided to bring Monfort here. He's definitely one of the strongest on the start-list, so hopefully it pays off.

This was always going to be a tough race for us. Of course, i can't be too happy about the outcome but this was always going the more difficult one of the two clashing races for us. At least we made the break..

Monfort! Very impressive solo victory, which is of course the best kind of victory. Awesome rider.
Great start of the season so far. Hope we can keep this form going.
Thanks for the steady stream of reports coming out tsmoha!

Nice job by Klemme - 2nd meets our pre-race hopes and slightly surprised (positively) to see Valencia backing up in 14th as had expected Kolobnev to be our 2nd finisher.
Monfort with a strong performance for victory, almost as much work effort as hard-working reporter TSM - thanks!

Levarlet only the fourth best rider in our team, didn't see that one coming. Superb result from the team with 6-7-8-16. Strong and deserved victory for Monfort. Always nice to see an attacking rider winning, so congrats DD.
Thanks for all your work and a brilliant report, tsmoha

Happy with 3rd, Monfort and Klemme were just too strong in the end but a podium brings another decent points haul from this race. Congrats to Gazelle, and thanks once again tsmoha for more great reporting. |

11th from Zeits, can't be too disappointed, but I top ten would've been nice.

Damn that's depressing! We had one of the strongest teams with Bennett, Craven, and Rabie. But we don't even get a top 10! Fuck that is terrible. PCM has screwed us for 3 out of 3 races now - badly.
