Aussie NRS DB Project 2015

nationalroadseries.subaru.com.au/sites/default/files/hero/nrs-header-2015.png

After a few months of work behind the scenes, I'm now going to show off my first DB project ever. Some of you may know my long-running NRS story, covering the action from Australia's domestic cycling scene. This story and database has been growing over the past years and I plan to finally sort out a few messy DB stuff to get a proper download working.

So, in short: this is a DB focussing on the Australian/Oceanian cycling scene from this 2015 season. The Australian National Road Series features riders like Jack Bobridge, Neil Van der Ploeg, Joseph Cooper, Alex Edmondson or Wes Sulzberger... UCI Continental teams like Avanti Racing, Budget Forklifts, search2retain or Drapac Cycling... in addition to that, you can go deep into the domestic cycling scene, as this DB will feature a few more Race Series from Australia and New Zealand. There will be also real startlists/profiles/teams for UCI events like the Herald Sun Tour, New Zealand Cycle Classic or the Mitchelton Bay Classics!

I know this won't be of too much of interest for many users, but anyway. Please note, that I'm not yet sure whether this will become a PCM14 or PCM15 release! Most of the stuff is ready to go, but I will wait for some more real routes to be announced, as well as more results to come in. So I will use this thread as kind of a showroom for now: presenting some shirts and stages, which may help to get some interest to support me with a few things, such as

real XMLs for the most important events or
additional graphics (like equipment)

An overview of what this Aussie DB will feature:

Teams
- 33 NRS teams
- 28 additional Aussie teams
- 25 Kiwi teams
- 30 international teams
- real shirts for all teams

Races
- 10 NRS events from 2015
- 20 additional Aussie events (States Series, e.g.)
- 11 Kiwi events (North and South Island Series)
- 4 additional Kiwi events (Tour of Wellington, e.g.)
- 9 international events (Herald Sun, Bay Classics, e.g.)
- real leader shirts for most events
- real startlists for several events (Herald Sun, Cadel Evans, NRS)

Riders
- 844 riders in total
- Pictures for all important and many useless riders
- stats based on real results from 2015

Credits/Support
- Shirts: tsmoha, -Gaz- and a few more
- Stages: tsmoha, roturn, Margh Norway
- XMLs: clamel
- Additional stuff: -

Thanks, trek. Always nice to find someone following the NRS Smile

Updates the credits, since roturn and Margh Norway provide me some stages/files for that.

Good on you mate,
I will help if I can, with XMLs perhaps ??
Will start scanning and having an eye for the setups in NRS.

The jerseys are fab, and I hope you get cracking on a new version of Bay Classic.
The old one I got needs updating for PCM14 and perhaps some nicer scenery.
I trust you will deliver as always.

Yes, old Euride can retire their jersey with this new SASI one. Great...

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

@clamel: Any help with XMLs will be very much appreciated! Kinda annoying, but important work for a proper DB. First two NRS races this year seem to have no bonifications at all, btw. But we can figure things out soon.

And speaking of the Bay Classics, here's a sneak preview of what to expect there:

Wow... Always wanted something like this, best of luck!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Nice to know, thanks Wink

Adelaide had some, sprints of 5-3-2-1 I recall also on all KoMs 5-3-2-1 and no bonus.
I look into it of course.

Next Toowoomba looks also very different. What I calculated last year that race even had bonus seconds on the KoMs and just 3-2-1 points on the finish and sprints.
Then of course -10,-6,-4 or stage tops.

I take a look at Bay, and I would really be happy to see that race finished very soon. Every season thats what kicks everything off.
Do put that on your speedy list, at the top.

I get back with XML as soon as I find something...

Bay Classic is in fact not in the NRS Series (as you know), and the calculation on that race is also very hard to crack in PCM.
The race have no Time standings, but a point classification
12-10-8 down for finishing and a different sprint with 3 intermediates on each stage, having a separate jersey (3-2-1 pts).
So nothing with any time. How will this be approached in PCM??
A fantasy solution no doubt.

Tour of Perth had in 2014 some bonus seconds on the first short (68km) stage on both sprints and finish line. Then the other stages had NO bonus seconds.
Intermediate sprints AND Finish had same points 3-2-1, KoMs too 3-2-1
Crazy bonus seconds on that 1st stage
-5,-3,-1 on the sprints
-10,-6,-3 and -1 seconds on the line

Getting any order in XML for these aussie races will be a tall order indeed.

I've raced the Bay Crits/Geelong course for the state TT champs a couple month ago, loved the course, with the short hill and the wind is usually very strong (although I do think the laps were slightly extended for my race), even if it's not possible to fully replicate it in-game, I'm really looking forward to playing it in-game. tsmoha,
I take it you have seen GPM Stulz jersey in the Real Jersey thread
