C2HC is the only race category that is limited to Continental teams, and with good ranking points on offer, this is where the battles will be won and lost in the fight for promotion to PCT.
As with last year there are 4 race bands, containing 20 race days in each. All CT teams will race in 3 of these bands. The selection for which will come once the full calendar has been revealed.
It is a much changed C2HC calendar from last year, with only 7 of last season's 19 races remaining. The remaining 12 are a mixture of recategorised races and new creations.
| Acropolis Cup | Greece | 2 | | Giro del Trentino | Italy | 5 | | GP Herning | Denmark | 2 | | GP Yekaterinburg | Russia | 2 | | Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt | Germany | 2 | | Tour de Pologne | Poland | 7 |
There's plenty of route variety in this race band, from the cobbles of GP Herning, to the Mountains and TTTing of Giro del Trentino, to the hills of the Tour de Pologne.
GP Herning returns to the calendar for the first time since 2012, while the Acropolis Cup will be race for the first time, around the Greek capital of Athens.
| Ruta America del Sur | South America | 8 | | Tour of Iceland | Iceland | 4 | | Tour of Scotland | United Kingdom | 6 | | Zimnyanya GP | Belarus | 2 |
A stage race heavy race band, and two of those stage races are new! With an influx of British teams into the division a new British race was inevitable, and it will be particularly pleasing to one of them that the new race will be held entirely in Scotland. British teams are not new to the game, but Icelandic teams are - and the Tour of Iceland has been launched to celebrate that.
Ruta America del Sur will continue to cut across South America, while we can look to Belarus for one of this year's flattest C2HC classics.
| La Tropicale Amissa Bongo | Algeria/Gabon | 6 | | Tatranska Klasika | Slovakia | 2 | | Tour de Langkawi | Malaysia | 10 | | Zuri Metzgete | Switzerland | 2 |
Half of this race band belongs to just one race, with the Tour de Langkawi being present once again in the MG calendar. It is not the only Mountains in this band, with the tough new Tatranska Klasika race providing a Slovakian challenge to all teams who choose to enter.
It's an unusual route for La Tropicale Amissa Bongo this year with an opening 2 stages in Algeria before a 'rest day' moving South for the conclusion of the race in Gabon. And finally, the Zuri Metzgete - which once again will end the season.
| Benelux Challenge | Benelux | 6 | | Geraardsbergen-Bosberg | Belgium | 2 | | GP Sallanches | France | 2 | | Great Ocean Road Classic | Australia | 2 | | USA Pro Cycling Challenge | USA | 8 |
A band of challenges - in more than just name! The USPCC moves to C2HC with a fresh new route around Colorado, while the Benelux Challenge is noted for a beefed up Cobbled stage with many ascents of the Oude-Kwaremont.
Prestigious cobbled climbs are a theme of this band, with the Muur van Geraardsbergen and the Bosberg providing the key points of a new cobbled classic. Also new is the GP Sallanches, offering a tough hill route in the shadow of Mont Blanc.
And then there's the Great Ocean Road Classic. A race so good that Cadel Evans decided to steal it.

I recognise a few of those stages and races
Nice looking C2HC calendar. Certainly a very global set of Bands and plenty of races that should excite various teams being given a chance to race on home roads.

No Norweigen race? At least we have Poland (Season Goal! ) and Denmark. Pretty excited by this though, as it suits what I'm going to try to do with the team.

Yay, a Danish race! WITH COBBLES! Well, I know what my win goal is for this season! Thanks SN!
A lot of schedule changes from last year makes this very interesting.
Also quite a few stages that Razzie could actually do something in. I think I have my first two bands selected. The final chose is a tough one though.

Some very interesting races there. Love the Icelandic one and some others are interesting, too. SN once again did a good job to give every team a home race!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Thanks. Not every team is covered here, but there's still the C1 and C2 races for that.

Seriously? That's your first comment on the races? No need to be so ungrateful/negative/greedy.

Much better first comment!

It's already extremely diverse in n effort to give everyone a home race, so it isn't surprising a secondary one couldn't be fit in.
Scandinavia always has that Icelandic race up there now.

I think I just want cobblers on my team for that Geraadsbergen and Herning races.
Lovely set of races, looking forward to the upper race classes.

Obviously great to have Tour of Scotland and USAPCC for us to compete. Also inclusion of Tour of Iceland is awesome. |

New C2HC calendar looks so cool , almost makes me wish still in CT to get stuck into these!
High point for me is the inclusion of the Tour of Scotland - (i) awesome that it finishes up the Bealach Na Ba, hard road that , and (ii) includes what looks like a classic Girvan stage with Tairlaw and Nic o'Balloch (the loss of the Girvan stage race at Easter time is a sad loss IRL).
Think with the bands as presented, my transfer strategy would have been a little different from last year if this had been what was facing us, but other problems to worry about now! All very interesting, I will watch with high attention.

All the bands look interesting and diverse, everyone should have a race they have a leader for, and a race they lack a leader for :-p

A nice mix of well known races and fantasy races. I particularly like that Slovakian classic - scary type of race
Not sure how the stats worked out for the C2HC bands last year - but I am guessing the points gained can be crucial to securing success in the CTour division. Certainly tactically important to try and get riders for your chosen bands.

A good looking set of bands, with some cool new races among. A Finnish team racing on Iceland doesn't sound too far off
Surprisingly I'm not even having much trouble selecting my top 3 either so that's nice as well.

I am delighted there is a Tour of Iceland. It should be great to see all the teams racing there, though from the sounds of it it looks as if I could have some tough competition! |
