Ciao and bienvenue to the headquarters of Generali - Kronenbourg 1664, an italian-based continental cycling team that in 2015 got for its first time ever the coveted Management Game license for the Continental division. We hope that you'll follow and support us actively throughout the entireness of the incoming season, in which we're pinning our greenest hopes of success and glory. Success, yes, this is the keyword: our sponsors are indeed delighted to have been given such an important position in the ever growing world of cycling and are planning not to disappoint the future fans and supporters. But let's take a look at who are the companies which have thankfully believed in this project:

Great presentation and nicely looking project on tha making matt. Good luck in the man-game, you should have plenty of CT value riders to choose from being an italian team, there are so many of them in the DB.

Metinvest also has small italian side focus due to minor sponsor, so it is possible we will see each other in the transfers. Smile
I'll be back

Another fantastic intro, I've got an Italian focus so I'd be surprised if we don't meet Wink.

Matt Mazzay's Press Release

i.imgur.com/1DyhvHP.png

The off-season of the Man-Game is approaching its start and the whole crew of the newly founded Generali - Kronenbourg 1664 team is truly proud to play a major role in the Continental scene. Obviously, along with the enthusiasm, there comes a halo of pressure around the senior leaders, who are expected to carry out a standout transfer season. Matt Mazzay, the general manager of the Italian cycling project has released an interview to pcmdaily.com. At first glance he appears to be a charismatic leader and we are sure he will give a big footprint to the team. Why don't you scroll down to read more?!

Hello and thank you for speaking to us in advance, Matt.
No problem, I'm sure this will give some more visibility to our team, and that's a good thing.

Sure. Well, let's start off: how are you going to build your team? How much will Kronenbourg's say affect the composition of the squad?
This was one of the main points of the meeting with sponsors that was held yesterday evening. Kronenbourg has clearly stated that they're aiming to have about the 20% of the squad coming from France. This didn't look unrealistic at all to us and we're even aiming to get very few riders coming from the nearby areas (Switzerland, Austria eg), whereas keeping about 75% of the team totally italian.

We know that it could be difficult to make a prediction without having done any transfers yet, but what would be the expectations for the first season in the Man-Game?
Not sure if I'm too happy to create expectations that would have to be taken with a pinch of salt. However, knowing you b*ches [journalists ed] you will speculate all year long if the team doesn't score as expected to sell your f*kin pieces of paper!
Having said so, I will go low and I'll hope that we'll manage to get a top 10 result for the first year, knowing the level of this year's teams. Would be nice if we could win some races/stages as well while we're at it, unlike those poor guys at Vontobel.

We are all looking forward to see you raging and racing in the two different battlefields that are the transfermarket and the cycling season. Good luck and good season!
Thanks, I hope that we won't disappoint our fans.

Goals Announced for the 2015 Season!

After a lot of speculation, I can proudly present the official goals of the 2015 Management Game.

As you've probably already noticed, our aim was pleasing everyone of our sponsors. In fact, two races from both Italy and France are marked as a goal for the 2015 season. And if you'll be bothered to look at the race profile you'll notice that a certain focus on a certain type of riders is quite evident.

Giro del Trentino is in our opinion the toughest one to achieve. As a stage race, it will be difficult to keep up an eventual good result of a mountain stage throughout the entireness of the race. Beside that, being the biggest focus region of our team, a "not so good result" - and with a not so good result I mean out of the top 20 - would be probably seen as a fail from the team's side. Nevertheless, we're confident that the riders we're about to sign in the upcoming transfer season will try hard to achieve it.
GP Sallanches is a hilly race that is going to suit perfectly the kind of riders our team will be made up of. Classics are more unpredictable than stage races and hopefully the luck will be from our side, both in the transfer season and during the race. Unfortunately, we can't say that the punchers are few in the continental divisions so it still won't be easy at all.
Clasico San Cristobal is a race which is very similar to GP Sallanches: the main difference is the division, actually. This one will definitely be the hardest of all to achieve. Winning is never easy, especially when you're not even sure of winning a single race all throughout the whole season. But why being so pessimistic when I'm the general manager of the team?
Tour of Azerbaijan is a mostly montainous stage race and, again, just like Trentino, a single bad day for our leader/s will fail the team. No time trials are included in the race route and this may be something good in perspective of the transfer season when, for now, complete stage racers won't be our focus unless we'll manage to spend less money than expected.
CT Team Standings and there we come to the most unpredictable although not the most difficult one: the overall division standings. As I've stated in the first press release, we won't risk too much in our first reason and aim for a top 10 (even though who wouldn't prefer a promotion since the first season already?!). Having few experience in the Management Game, we are not sure if we'll be able to score enough to hope for a top 5 so we've deemed it would have been wiser not to create too many expectations.

Overall, you can argue that these goals are a bit too easy compared to other goals which other CT or PCT teams have announced beforehand. But I'll tell you that goals are in most of the cases really hard to achieve and in this way we'll at least have a small possibilty of achieving a reasonable part of them. Wish us good luck, we'll need it!

2015 Jersey Presented!

After few weeks of waiting we can finally show the official 2015 jersey of our team! The young South African designer aidanvn13 has cranked out one of his most stunning works! It's difficult to express with words how much we're pleased about it, we were looking forward to this moment and we are sure that the wait has been worth it. We'd like to thank Aidan once again for the effort he's put into this masterpiece, which will definitely stand out, even in the ever colorful Man-Game peloton. Enjoy!

Analysis of the selected Team Bands

The management is proud to announce that we'll be able to take part in every band we initially asked for! Unfortunately those bands - 1, 2 & 4 - are the most popular ones among the continental teams and we'll have to race against an incredibly strong peloton. So let's have an overview on the C2HC races the team is willing to take part into!

The 1st Band was chosen by the vast majority of the Continental teams, being the one that can potentially offer the most interesting racing, with one of the toughest cobbled classics in the calendar - the GP Herning - and one of our main focuses - the Giro del Trentino, one of the most prestigious stage races for the Continental Teams. This year, the presence of the historic Monte Bondone, where Charly Gaul achieved one of the most unforgettable prowesses in the history of cycling. Val di Fassa's stage is gonna be exciting as well, with is beautiful tryptich of mountains in the final. Beside those, Tour de Pologne is going to suit the kind of riders we're targeting in the transfer season, presenting a hilly profile in almost every single stage. Then, Acropolis Cup and GP Yekaterinburg are two hilly criteriums, while Rund um den Finanzplatz is a race with a very interesting profile that could make a good race depending on the various teams' strategies. It could very well end up in a tight sprint, but could very well be won by a brave rider with an attack from far off.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/profiles/c2hc/acr.png

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/profiles/c2hc/rudf.png
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/profiles/c2hc/pol.png

Meanwhile, Band 2 is the one with the largest number of stage races, three, precisely. Ruta America del Sur provides a bunch of long mountains and could be won by a brave mountain goat, who our team will be targeting to get in the upcoming transfer season. Nonetheless, being those mountains pretty far from the finish line, he will need quite some luck as well. Tour of Iceland though is a mostly flat stage race, although some hills in the final of some of those stages could enliven it up. Tour of Scotland presents more or less the same profile, but has got an Ardennesish profile in the 3rd stage and a steep summit in the last stage that is going to decide it most likely. Lastly, Zimnyanya GP has a flat profile.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/profiles/c2hc/sco.png
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/profiles/c2hc/zim.png

Just like the first one, Band 4 is a pretty vary band that is going to produce some very interesting racing and just like the first band, it was selected by the vast majority of the teams because of these characteristics. The Benelux Challenge is a race that could be won by an all-rounder. In fact, with its steep hills, and the Vlaanderen's cobbled murs, along with a time trial, the strongest rider that can get on nicely with all of them is gonna have it in his palmares. Gerardsbeergen-Bosberg presents in its profile two of the most beloved murs of De Ronde. GP Sallanches is a tough one day race that every puncher will love. The steep hill that will be repeated 6 times and will make sure that the riders will hardly recover their energies before facing the slopes of the incoming uphill sectors. And finally, considered by many the hardest stage race in the calendar, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge will offer non stop action from the start 'till the finish of the racing and the General Classification will be in doubt until the very last moment. All the stages display various mountains that will split the group in several parts and there won't be any chance for the sprinters that can't stomach anything that is not flat. Even the time trial is not completely flat! So again, another mountain goat suitable stage race, and obviously great news for us.
