I run a game (in danish), about being a professionel football player, and making it to the very top of the game.
The game is entirely fictional and every character you will meet in the game is controlled by another human. You decide where your player is from, what his name is and how he should develop.
During the game you will face a lot of the most common tasks, such as finding out where to play, what you want to train, how much money means to you and stuff like that.
We are currently looking to make the game run in english aswell, and I feel like I should ask inhere whether or not you would like to be a part of it, once the game is ready (can take somewhere between 2-6 months for us to be happy with it all).
The game is currently on it's 6th season in the danish version, and just to give you a quick peak at what has happened:
*Starting season was 10 teams, and 70 active players.
*From then on the game grew, and we decided to move the platform aswell.
*At a very high we have had 140 active players, and have had no less than 90 (deducting the startup phase).
Some of the biggest stars in the game are named:
Antonio Azzini, Dabo Martin, Emil Jørgensen, Kaspar Virtanen, Kreso Grubisic, Leroi Jaune, Luca Patmac, Lucas Ribeiro, Miljenko Vuckovic, Ola Sjöström, Oscar Thiago, Ryan Joseph Wilson and Steven McSmith just to mention some of them. A few of these have even entered the games Hall of Fame for their contribution on and off pitch.
The most legendary teams in the game are the likes of Olympique Strasbourg, Juve Caserta, Chakra United and Ultimatum F.C.
As you might get from the above, the players get into character, and doesn't settle for being just a random danish bloke playing at a team called Super Team AS, and stuff like that. And we have intentionally poked people into chosing a realistic alter-ego, and looking at those who stick to the game, the ones that have taken that into account are also the ones that have made it the furthest, and find the game the most fun.
The game is build around Football Manager, and as such you cannot control your player (Like the managers of the Man-Game can't control their team), but it is build up on the database, and the games are then streamed through Football Manager. Your ability to act as a professional footballer will be key to develop, make enough money to go to the gym and stuff like that.
The game is a role play, like mentioned, and it takes very little time. As it is also a manual game, there is currently two matches pr. week (3 occasionally when there are cup matches), so your player will progress nice and slowly, so you get the full feel of the game, instead of speeding into the world elite. The more players, obviously the more it will demand. Currently we have two divisions. The Premier and the 1. division. Most of the real players are playing in the Premiership, while the players that have lost interest/quit the game have gotten deducted their "talent" and is playing as a "DRAFT-player" in the 1. division (A few are also as backups in the Premierships).
The reason we want the game to go international is simply because we cannot make the game grow in size as long as it is danish only, but once we turn into english we hope the game will grow. Currently we have received incredibly positive feedback from our danish players, which was a bit of a concern, so atm it seems as if atleast 80% of our danish players will move over to the english site, meaning we will have almost 100 users from season one. And if we can draw in 50 or so from other countries the game should quickly become a game of ATLEAST two full divisions of 10-14 teams - Meaning 250-300 active players.
Is this something you would be interested in playing? It is absolutely up to the player what amount of time he puts into it. I estimate that the game takes ~5 minutes pr. week to play and about 30-60 minutes each 3 months to set your stats, negotiate contracts and so on. This is the very minimum, but is also doable for almost every single football interested person of the (atleast western) world. Some players spend much much longer, and the community have enough room for both.
Please comment in here whether or not you are interested, and why that is. I will try my best to keep answering questions for the full time it takes until the game is finished - Also I could probably use a tester or two once the website is up and running. And some help in writing the rules so they are easy to understand.

Sounds very interesting, if you get this going unlike your mini mangame thingy I'd be happy to join.
Unlike the Mini-Man Game, this game is already running and working. ATM we are just having a quick ask in the site to see if the danes are up for the move, but it seems very positive so far. We already have a website running and working, but we will probably make a new one to start from scratch. I think we will launch the international version some time during the summer. It should be possible, as all the major things are easy to cope with. The website is the only "big" thing we have to do, and ofcourse a lot of translation, but we can just do the most important things, and take the others as we play along.
Sounds interesting SotD. From my perspective depends on timing - if gets started fairly soon, I'll be wrapped up with other things, but if say August or after, I'd definitely give the rules, etc. a good read and from your existing description, likely sign up.

Whatever the case, good luck with the initiative.
Thanks mate... Can't say exactly when we will open the doors. The game isn't a "sign up now or don't" game. We have two transferwindows each season, and normally we have produced 3,5 seasons pr. year. So even if you don't feel up for the game when we launch, you can freely join when you have the time
I only write here now to get a bit of an idea on which members seems interested, so I can give them a heads up, and possibly ask a few of them for help because of their nationality. We really want to get the word out there, and mouth to mouth seems like the best way when we don't want to spend a lot of money we dont have on advertising. The game is non-profit, and we aim to keep it that way
I'll certainly read anything more with interest because it sounds like a fun thing that's well established and organised (and come on, we need a Hammarling who plays football surely!).
Wouldn't commit to signing-up right now, would want a much closer look at the game itself first to gauge effort and time required. But very much an interesting concept i'll keep an eye on
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

I will try to keep you guys informed once we start the english webpage, I might need a few eyes on it at some point to check for clear errors, especially on the spelling/grammar, just to ensure it will be pretty good from scratch.
Also if someone is good at making trailers (intro-videos) we really would love talking to you, so the adworks can be perfect in order to make a lot of new members wanna join. The more players, the more fun.
Your Football Career (from here on known as YFC) is a RPG based football game that has existed in Danish since 2012 – Now we are ready to implement the rest of the world. So join up!
What is YFC? YFC is a role-play in which you are a professional footballer trying to reach the top of his game. You sign contracts, you train and you make friends and rivals in this open game, in which every character is controlled by a real person. This ensures that the game feels alive and as realistic as possible throughout.
The game exist solely in English, but we are ready to help in any way we can. There are no rules for the minimum level of English, however as there are a fair bit of reading in the game we expect that you can handle at least basic English, or know how to use a translator (eg. Google Translate). In the beginning, you will find that a fair few things are written in Danish, as we have decided not to erase anything from the past. Those things are history, and you do not need to read/understand it – but in case you are interested in some of it feel free to ask, and we will be assisting you with some translations.
As a rule every newcomer to the game starts of being 21 years old, and have not signed a professional contract in the world of the YFC, however, as we have only just opened the doors for the international gamers, we have made a small exception:
The first 7 members to sign up from a specific nationality (For example Croatia or England) will be free to choose from any of the following startup ages: 21, 22 or 23. The positives of being 23 is that you are a better player, hence you should be aiming to get a starting spot from the beginning, while at 21/22 you might need to look around a bit. However, as a 21 year old, you get the full package of the game with the maximum amount of training and such. The choice is yours – If in doubt, contact the persons in charge of the game!
Only 1 player per person!

(We need help to spread the word to other nations, so if you are interested in the game, please send me a PM, so we can use your skills and language ability to get the game to your country aswell. The more players the more fun!)
I forgot to say that we have created a Skype chat for the new, international members so it will be a bit easier to get going. There will also be moderators in the chat to help with any question (Myself and another atleast):
