I am curious why this is so obviously the case and what peoples opinions as of why are.
Obviously I think it boils down to one thing, in a day of power meters and trains, Contador is one of the only guys who rides with feel and attacks when others would not. Froome on the other hand wont ride out of his watt meter and as such is very boring.
This isnt a troll thread as I know it sounds like it but I am honestly curious.
Personally I cannot stand the looking at the meter crap and feel they should be banned just like radios.
Would you compare it at all to Ullirch vs Pantani where Pantani was loved by almost all fans while Ullrich was no where near the same when in reality they were both doping and both very good.

Well I for once hate both, Contador for doping (and I admit, for being better than Andy Schleck who I once liked), and Froome for his arrogance on and off bike, his insane mountain sprints without going out of the saddle, the whole https://chrisfroomelookingatstems.tumb...tumblr.com thing, AND for obviously most probably doping as well.

Ha that tumplr thing is pretty funny. God he is in love with his watt meter. Anyway to be clear Contador is not my guy or anything he wouldnt be in my top 10 though I do have more respect for him than Froome. |

that stem thing was too funny
Anyway, I simply prefer Contador because Chris Froome does nothing exciting, as cio said, he just looks at stems, I think Warren Barguil stated it perfectly:
"Chirs Froome has no panache, he just rides by the numbers." and I started watching cycling in June 2011 and I'm an Aussie, so I didn't know that much about Contador then ( I do now), and in the 2012 tour, Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome were pretty annoying for me.

I hate Contador more than Froome, purely because (as you said) he is a convicted doper. There's something else I find off-putting about him too and while I'm not really a fan of Froome either, I'd rather see him win than Contador.

Why is Froome clean?
Armstrong was also never tested positive.
Contador was always a climber and good one.
Froome was rubbish rider and one day in 2011 became best climber, his route looks more suspicious. He was so bad that he was dropped by gupetto and disqualified from Giro for holding a car.

He was already 36th in a GT 2 years before that...He could have developed into a Top10 guy. Also, just because someone was always a climber doesn't mean that he isn't doping. Tbh, I disliked Contador all the way, but I started liking Froome because of his looking at the same(I do it, too xD) and because of his funny overall riding style.(Same with Mollema) I also never found Froome to be arrogant, like a certain other british rider, who even has his own team.

Why I hate Froome and Sky:
He rides for Sky(I hate Rupert Murdoch a lot,so I hate Sky a lot)
He is boring,I almost didn't want to watch 2012 and 2013 Tours.
He is an obvious doper.
He doesn't attack from far out,he usually wheelsucks
He is arrogant.Once he accused Contador of crashing in stage 16 at 2013 TDF
UCI president Cookson's son works for Sky.I wouldn't catch a team that my son works, right?
And his biased fanboys

To be honest I'd hardly heard of Froome until he finished 2nd in the Tour behind Wiggins. But straight away, I didn't like him for his apparently "unintentional" attack on Wiggins in the Alps and during another stage while he was dragging him through the mountains, he turned around and did loads of hand gestures telling Wiggins to follow him.
On top of the fact that he rides like a robot and that he came out of nowhere to be one of the best riders ever.
Also, I don't trust anything that is remotely linked to Rupert Murdoch's empire.
Watching Froome ride is literally like playing PCM. You're constantly checking your little yellow and red energy bars to see if your rider is going to get tired. I bet that on his stem he has these two little PCM energy bars showing and he;s constantly controlling them. |

I think it is more about the way team sky win races, it is dull to watch. When I think back to 2010 it wasn't just a mountain train reeling in every rider infront

Yes he could have. He could have won some races or stage or maybe finish top 10 before that to prove that he is climber . Maybe Top 10 in any short stage race.
But no he went straight to try to win GT, especially when he was out of contract and about to be dropped by Sky. You don't go from being loser to GT winner overnight. Stop dreaming. He also has a DARK secret.
How many years before "The Sky Lie" is out, anyone? |

Are you trolling? Everyone in this forum knows, that I think that the whole Peloton is doping. So why should I stop dreaming? I dislike Contador, but I like Froome. I don't dislike Contador because he is a doper, but because of his personality(you can now start flaming on me ). I even think that Tony Martin dopes. But i still like him. Period.

I'd agree with most of that but remember Armstrong was almost as suspicious when he won his first Tour, as here was a rider who was a great one day hilly classics rider and not a GC one. I remember at the time how both fellow riders and tv commentators couldn't believe this transformation in him. |

Armstrong was slightly more believable due to how his body was broken down by chemo and how he had to rebuild up from the start to get back into cycling form. Motorola Lance was a fair bit chunkier than Postal Lance. |

That was probably also the time when he jumped from steroids to EPO, but yeah, the body change was used as the argument for his change of riding style.
To the topic, for me it is in riding style and sympathy for how which of these two acts off and on the bike, so pretty subject things. I dont have illusions about doping in both cases.

Sorry to bold that but he did positive, multiple times.
I don't hate either rider, I rate them on the same level as most of the peloton as being dirty cheats who can't seem to understand that doping is the wrong thing to do

I hate every cheat and I think 2-year bans are too lenient. Some riders even have the balls to deny doping use after their bans, like Valverde and Vinokourov.
I can't say much about riders that haven't been caught. But Froome and Porte are definately two of the most suspicious riders. |
