Canada hosts a double one-day challenge in this part of the season, more specifically in the province of Québec. The first of these, GP Quebec, will take the Continental riders through the hilly course present by the capital of this weird place in North America, where people speak French in spite of English or Spanish.
Quebéc city has been visited for 3 times in MG history now, having been won by the following names:
2013: Dale Appleby
2012: Ryder Hesjedal
2011: Sylvain Chavanel (EL AL - IDF)
Appleby was a surprise winner, coming from a break last year, but the other two are solid all-rounders who might give you an idea of the profile of rider this race usually requires. But let’s leave the past where it belongs and face what’s in the menu for this year:
Team | Name | Hill | | Di Maggio | 82 | | Ulissi | 80 | | Betancourt | 79 | | Monfort | 79 | | Barrio | 79 | | Roy | 79 | | Bellis | 78 | | Mehr-Wenige | 78 | | Kelderman | 77 | | Bilbao | 77 |
So… yes the usual combination of puncheurs is here to try and bring home the bacon. They are all pretty well-known so I’m not going to bother introducing each of them individually – sorry folks, time is money
Instead I’ll give another list. Quebec has drawn a lot of attention, not only from pure puncheurs but from riders who usually prefer other type of terrain. Here you can have a look at them:
Team | Name | Mountain | | Pedraza | 79 | | Panayotov | 78 | | Gerdemann | 76 | | Ardila | 76 |
Team | Name | Cobbles | | Baugnies | 80 | | Thomas | 79 | | Altur | 75 |
Team | Name | Sprint | | Cavendish | 82 | | Haussler | 80 | | Hutarovich | 78 | | Gavazzi | 78 | | Gasparotto | 76 | | Lorenzetto | 76 | | Grosu | 76 | | Arashiro | 76 |
Plenty of bizarre choices there, but with so many different talents will this pan out the way we’re expecting it to? With so many battles going on in the continental divisions this is set to be the stage for some dramatic events. But who will come out on top? You’ll have to follow us to find that out.

Moved it into the general forum.
Back in my debut season this was a nice home win by Ryder Hesjedal. Really nice race it is.
Hoping for Bellis to win this. |

Since we are safe I don't know if I want Betancourt to have good races anymore. Every penny counts...
I'll cheer for any of the other riders instead.
Come on Others!

Indeed some strange choices here. It's not the thoughest & longest of hills, but hilly riders should still shine here. Hoping for the win, but with hilly races (& Di Maggio) you never know, so a podium would be nice as well.

I hope to see the big puncheurs shine. Hopefully this will be a 0-pointer for Azteca. If there is no succeeding breakaway then the chances are good for this to happen.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

I'm well aware of the French heritage in North America.
However, given your lack of sense of humour, I'd recommend your politicians to change your province's name to German Columbia.
EDIT: no offense, roturn

Our biggest race Of the season and one of only 2 home races we field a team including our star Johnny Bellis and super domestiques Kristijan Durasek and Ryan Anderson with the latter hopeful of a good result in his home race Bellis will be under great pressure to perform to the best of his abilities here.
The rest of the team is an all Canadian lineup Hugo Houle, Sebastian Salas, Peter Pancake and Ryan Roth hoping to see Them at some point |

We've got two options here in Wegmann for a tougher race and Gasparotto for an easier one with a hilly sprint. I hope they don't cancel each other out and can manage to get a few points between them as we badly need some. |

I may have not realised this race is rated as hilly. Bugger. |

I was not waiting for such a strong field, so I can only have hope of a positive outcome

Well one of the few races that we arent in the first row of teams on the startlist so I suppose if we couldn't win then, we wont here either.

One of my very few races where I'm riding up a level. Don't really think we can go and play with the pack for a win, so much rather see us in the breakaway taking our chances there. Should be a fun race and excited for the challenge.

Raboň has not made it into the preview, but i hope he can surprise with another top10 finish. Course is ideal for rider of his qualities and he proved that several times this year, top15 is the goal for sure. Ulissi is my favourite for the win.
These sprinters on the start are crazy.
Nice preview Gusta!

AMEXpc has a solid squad here for this race close to home. Marko Kump probably is the best fit for the terrain. He has enough on the hills to stay with the leaders and then has the sprinting ability to pull off a podium finish. This should be a very exciting race.
