Here are the Nations rankings based on the Top 10 riders per nation on the season so far:
1 | | ITA | 9973 | 2 | | ESP | 9611 | 3 | | BEL | 6977 | 4 | | USA | 6438 | 5 | | RUS | 6260 | 6 | | GER | 5768 | 7 | | GBR | 5743 | 8 | | NED | 4875 | 9 | | LUX | 4812 | 10 | | SLO | 4782 |
Qualification for the World Championship Road Race works as follows.
Top 12 in Nation rankings get 9 riders.
Italy, Spain, Belgium, USA, Russia, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Colombia, Australia
12 other Nations get 7 riders.
2 more qualify automatically based on rankings:
France, Portugal
2 more qualify based on having an 82+ Sprinter:
New Zealand, South Africa
1 qualifies as defending champion:
Norway
And if Hamilton wins the vote, Canada will qualify as hosts.
This leaves 6 or 7 spaces. These will be decided by vote.
Each manager can vote by voting for their Top 5 choices. Post in table format, as shown below:
1 | Wales | 2 | England | 3 | Scotland | 4 | Northern Ireland | 5 | Isle of Man |
Points will be awarded per voting position. 10 for 1st, 6 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, 2 for 4th and 1 for 5th. (Note: If you only vote for 3 nations then the points awarded will only be 4-2-1)
The top 6/7 in the vote will qualify for the World Championships Road Race. The next best 24 qualify for the new B World Championships Road Race, over the same course. If Doha or Ulaanbaatar win the vote, then Qatar and Mongolia are guaranteed entry to the B Worlds.
TT/TTT lineups will be decided based on TT stats. U23 startlist is also chosen based on the stats of those riders who do not race in the main road race or time trial.
If you vote for Canada, Qatar or Mongolia please include an extra option in your vote, in case that nation gains automatic qualification. |

Can't imagine a WC without a strong rider like Vaitkus who could surprise everyone in the final kilometres...

Key reason why Brazil should make it: Andriato (78 SPR) + Manarelli (79 SPR), arguably the best combination of the eligible countries remaining. |

Didn't expect anyone else to be voting for Finland, but when there's a chance I'm not gonna let it slip by...
The rest all have riders who could do well on a flat route. Also focus on allowing some of the best sprinters from lower div. a chance to get in and compete against the big boys.

Well I am probably biased on the first one, but I really do think that we need to have some nations who actually have a shot at winning the race. Why would anyone vote for Jamaica for instance? They have 1 rider, and he is level 1 and 21 years old. He is U23 and have NO chance to do anything...
On normal circumstances I would vote for the teams with the best option to win, so we get the most interesting race, but seeing how others vote I have to give Greece and Tzortzakis my 10 points.
1 Greece
2 Cuba
3 Switzerland
4 Kazakhstan
5 Lithuania
I have tried picking the countries with the "best" possible candidate for a fluke win. I had Slovakia as 6th with Peter Sagan.
