Last season, there were 20 HC races and all PCT teams rode 12. It is all change this year however, There are now 30 HC races, and teams will ride at least 17 of them - with the races being split into 6 bands of 20 race days each.
How it works is simple, each PCT team will have to choose 4 of the bands, and they will participate in all races within those bands. As ever, HC races are worth the most ranking points, and should therefore be the most competitive. The selection process for HC races will start once the full calendar has been revealed. Full race clash details will also be revealed then.
CT teams may also have the opportunity to ride some individual HC races, depending on where there are spaces. There were also be C2HC races which feature this band system too.
Now, onto the bands.
| Down Under Classic | Australia | 2 | | Post Danmark Rundt | Denmark | 5 | | Tour of South Africa | South Africa | 6 | | USA Pro Cycling Challenge | USA | 7 |
Featuring the season openier, the Down Under Classic, Band 1 will see the teams tour the globe. There are hills, mountains, time trials and sprints - so this could be a good choice for an 'all-round' team.
| 5 Jours de Dunkerque | France | 5 | | Berlin ProRace | Germany | 2 | | Eneco Tour | Belgium | 4 | | Giro dell'Emelia | Italy | 2 | | Tour of the Czech Republic | Czech Republic | 5 | | Wanze - Arenburg | France | 2 |
Sprints and cobbles stand out here, but don't ignore the presence of one of the key hill classics Giro dell'Emelia.
| Baltic Chain Tour | Lithuania | 5 | | Corsica International | France | 3 | | Tour d'Andorra | Andorra | 5 | | Tour of Vancouver | Canada | 7 |
All stage races in Band 3, with 3 key Mountains races. Corsica is short, Vancouver has the challenge of TTT, and Andorra is just mental. Also here is the Baltic Chain Tour, not as 100% sprinter friendly as Eneco Tour in Band 2, thanks to the presence of an unpredictable 3km cobbled prologue.
| E3 Prijs | Belgium | 2 | | Japan Cup | Japan | 2 | | Kenya Mountain Classic | Kenya | 2 | | Paris-Tours | France | 2 | | Strade Bianche | Italy | 2 | | Tour of Britain | Great Britain | 8 | | Tour of the Battenkill | USA | 2 |
Just the 1 stage race in Band 4, the Tour of Britain, surrounded by 6 one day races. There's a bit of everything here, from Belgian and American cobbles, Italian gravel, Kenyan mountains, Japanese hills and French flat roads. Japan Cup remains the final race of the season.
| Dutch Food Valley Classic | Netherlands | 2 | | Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt | Austria | 8 | | Interlagos GP | Brazil | 2 | | Tour of Oman | Oman | 6 | | Urkiola Igoera - Subida Urkiola | Spain | 2 |
Band 5 marks the return of two races to the ManGame calendar: the Tour of Oman, and Urkiola Igoera - Subida Urkiola. There is also a newcomer in the Interlagos GP, which is quite a similar race to the Dutch Food Valley Classic. The really interesting part, is that they are on the same day!
| Clasica San Sebastian | Spain | 2 | | Manx International | Great Britain | 2 | | Tour of Beijing | China | 5 | | Volta a Portugal | Portugal | 11 |
There is a hilly flavour to the final band, with Beijing, San Sebastian and the Manx International. But we also have the only stage race that has always been a HC stage race since the HC races were introduced, the Volta a Portugal. Also notable is that Portugal always clashes with one other HC stage race. Well, this year it clashes with two: Osterreich and Baltic Chain.

Definetelly interesting.
I have a idea of what I'm going to choose though.
And SN, didn't the cobbled TT on the Baltic Chain Tour didn't work? |

Though i'm not really sure if we should bother, probably wouldn't hold up too well against top PCT competition anyway. :/

Did it not? Admittedly, even though I made it, I haven't tested it. I'll check. If it doesn't, then there will still be a 3km prologue, but it will not be cobbled.

Hopefully I can get into Post Danmark Rundt as a continental team. Not like I expect results, but it would be great to attack and show our colors in our home country.

That was quick and painless. I already have my 4 bands picked out.
Thanks for making that easy on me SN.

I foresee a lot of wasted race days...
Like the new races though, and the addition of the banding system. |

I only see one 'band' that I'm obliged to pick (that being band 5 with the Int. Osterreich Rundfahrt), so I'll be free to pick the best of the rest. I guess I'll have to make a decision of some sort about what type of team we are going to be, so I can pick the rest of the HC bands.

I'm pretty sure it didn't. Somehow, PCM 13 can't handle TT or TTT with cobbles. |

Well that's easy. We'll be going to Bands , , and . Just totally uninterested in Bands and . Also means we don't have to change any of our transfer Plans which is a nice bonus

And I can confirm that the cobbled prologue works fine.

I guess Miguel was confused with that fact that cobbled TTs crash in simulation. But they work fine in 3D, indeed

3 easy choices there, got no idea on the fourth. Will have to hope I make the right choice, as all three have potentially disastrous races! |

Really? My bad then.
Sorry for that. Since people actually told to replace that TT by a normal one, I got mixed up.
Still, nice to know it works. |
