I saw that in the U23 rankings only a few nations appear. We always have young riders from the same nations (not more than 20, I think). I would like to know what file do I have to modify and how to modify it in order to have U23 riders in the U23 rankings from several other countries.
Thanks !

Yeah, there's a limit of 25 teams, so that's why
Depending on DB, there are quite some more countries with young riders, though you can only scout them...
There is a way to link countries, so you have main countries, and then regions like 'East Europe, Asia, etc. Those have riders of multiple countries then, so rvery country is visible.
I'm not 100% sure how, maybe somebody could help you out there, I onow that some people did this...

It's the national teams you have to edit for that. There's a fixed limit of them, so you can only change the teams, not add them.

I got it.
Just edit one of the National teams in Dyn_national_team, and change it to f.e. Asia(which it is in my case).
Then go to Sta_region and just assign the national team to every country you want.
Problem for me is that I did it, and only have Japan usable now. Can somebody help?
Edit: Strange thing is: The display that well, displays the 3 best riders in the screen you get after choosing the stage, does display Lagutin(who rides in the team as well)

I did not understand your problem with Japon.
I saw that if you change a county with one region, then you can assign just one country. If you change a country with several regions, then you can assign a country / region for every replaced region.

Oh. That might explain it, since I replaced Austria.
So do I have to remove one of the big countries then?

Yeap, I think so.
You need to replace Belgium and you can replace its 2 regions with 2 of your countries. Or Italy / France / Spain and you can put several cuntries. But it would be a shame to replace one of the big countries.
Or, you can replace several small countries : Austria -> Japon, Kazahstan -> China, Slovenia, Australia and so on.
It would be great just to add 1-2 countries, without deleting another, but I don't think it's possible.

Well, I heard that people linked whole continents with big countries still there.
(I'm not sure who, but I heard Kentaurus mentioning it once)
So there should be a way...

I haven't actually tried doing it, but in PCM11 there's a column called "fkIDnational_team" in STA_Country which has to be edited when changing National Teams. Putting in the same value more than one place should linnk more than one country to the same national team, but I don't know how it will work in practice

Well, that's what I'm doing.
I put multiple countries on 'Asia'(replacing Austria), and only Japan has riders I can choose from...

Kentaurus mentioned it here:
https://www.pcmdai...d_id=28860
(At Step 5).
In the picture, you can see that all the big countries are still there.
Also, I tried replacing Denmark with 'Asia' and giving 5 countries(Denmark has 5) that team, but it didn't work either.

Okay so Jesleyh got me to come look. I've attached my 2012 BMC career .cdb file, where I'm doing what you guys are wanting.
You can create extra countries like I did in the "National Teams" section, but there is extra work following that. Be careful using the standard national teams because they are also used for the WC races and can screw that up.
I think there might be a couple of regular national teams that do not get WC invites, that you could edit to use as large groups of countries.
Here is the list of what needs to be done though for those wanting to do the work.
--Edit the "National Teams" to have broad regions (such as Africa or Americas)
--Edit the "STA_country" change "fkIDnational_team" to the correct team, you will have multiple countries with the same team to build the conglomerates.
Here is where you get to the harder parts.
If you added teams (like I did) you will need to go into the "Team Races" and swap in some new teams for old teams. You will have to do this for each U23 race each season. I think I built a spreadsheet and used the excel editor to do this as it can be tedious if you have as many u23 races as I put in.

I think Kentaurus already explained pretty much everything that needs to be understood here, but I've got a question: what did you guys mean with the countries with many regions and etc? Regions have nothing to do with national teams as far as I'm aware (and btw, on post #6 - fkIDnational_team is in STA_country, not STA_region)

@ Kentaurus – Thanks, but I think I will have to re-read tomorrow with a clearer head, because I am a little lost.
@ Jesleyh – I am a little lost. If you can do the changes and it works, let me know .
@ lluuiiggii - From what I understand, the teams that assure riders for the U23 rankings are the same that participate in the WC.
So, if you want to have riders generated in the U23 rankings, you have to modify one country that participate in the WC in the DB and replace it with another.
But, if you want to introduce several countries, you can change a country that have several regions and replace each region with a country.
So, you will have U23 riders generated from several countries which were not before in U23 rankings, and you will have an international team (I think) in the WC formed by the riders from all the countries you introduced in the DB, replacing the previous regions.

Correct and correct.

This is what I was questioning. Where did this come from? National teams are linked with the countries (STA_country), not with the regions (STA_region). If it was like that and you wanted to replace a country with several regions but did not want it to be one of the big countries, you could just take a small country and add several regions to it. But this is not an issue because the national teams are linked with countries, regardless of the countries' regions in STA_region.

You could add a new country/change an old one and link the old countries regions to that. E.g. making an African nation(al team) including both SAR,Kenya, Algeria etc. as regions in stead of independent countries.
