Spoiler Before I start, my national tour story is dead, I just didn't have the motivation for it.
Database: PCM Daily RealName NC-2013 with slight edits
Evolution: 0.7
Difficulty: Hard
Hello everyone, my name is Ian Boswell and I'm starting a blog just like many of the young riders in the professional peloton. I'm very anti-doping and growing was a huge Lance Armstrong fan. I now want to prove to the US that you can win clean. I was born in Bend, Oregon and my dad got me into cycling at a young age, as he was a professional triathlete. In 2010 I rode as an amateur for Bissell and won the Nevada cycling classic and finished 3rd in the Tour of Utah, which is my favorite race. For the past two years I rode for Bontrager-Livestrong as well as for Argos-Shimano as a stagiaire. My biggest results over that time span were: another Nevada Cycling Classic win, 2nd in U23 Liege-Bastonge-Liege, 5th in the Tour of Utah, and 5th in the Tour de I'Avenair. After 2012 I signed with Team Sky along with fellow American Joe Dombrowski.

Team Presentation
Team Leaders
Although I'm a little suspicious of him, Chris Froome is no doubt the best stage racer in the world at the moment. He will target the Tour de France and Tirreno-Adriatico.
Bradley Wiggins is the team's best time-trialist and will target the Giro D'Italia this year.
Protected Riders
Sergio Henao is one of the team's duo of Colombians, he will target the Ardennes and the Vuelta a Espana.
Rigoberto Uran is the other Colombian and will ride the Giro in support of Wiggo and will Co-Lead at the Vuelta.
The Australian Richie Porte will be Froome's number one man in the mountains of the Tour this year. He will get to lead some races like Paris-Nice and the Dauphine.
Rest of the Team
Here is the rest of the team, we have 27 riders and our goal is to come first in the WT this year.

I used to be the same until I did a one rider story. So much easier and better for your motivation.
are you going to race the stages that Ian isn't riding, or just sim them?

547984- Thanks, I usually play on 1.0 so it will feel slow for me
NOTE: Most flat stages will have really short reports similar to these first two stages as Ian won't ever be part of a leadout train this year.
Tour of Oman Preview
Chris Froome starts his season here as the leader. Cataldo and Kiryienka are his main helpers. I'm here as a pure domestique for the flat stages. Thomas and Stannard are free to attack whenever they please. I hope to just me a good team helper and maybe finish in the top 25 in GC.
Today's stage is pan-flat with only 1 cat 4 on the route. I expect a bunch sprint.
The Race
Adam Phelan of Drapac was the day’s sole escapee of the day. He will be rewarded with wearing the KOM jersey tomorrow.
Here is me riding at the front during my first race as a professional, I’m protecting Cataldo right now.
Me and Puccio took turns getting water bottles for the rest of the team. Here is me getting water with about 75 km to go. Phelan had a gap of 2 45 at this time.
The rest of the stage was uneventful, Phelan was caught with about 25 km to go and the stage ended in a sprint, which was won by Cavendish with about 500 m to second place Meersman. In fact he was given a gap of 22 seconds over his teammate.
I safely finished my first professional stage in 70th place.
Results
This stage is classified as flat although two hills are climbed in the last 15 km. Expected a solo win for a reduced field sprint.
The Race
Shortly after the sprint point three riders broke away from the peloton. They were: Tuft of Orica-Greenedge, Konovalovas of MTN-Qhubeka, and Padour of Team Bauknecht.
Today I had a nice conversation with Brent Bookwalter. He’s a cool guy, and a lot easier to understand than the guy on my left Dani Moreno.
On the last climb Froome wasn't feeling great so Geraint Thomas put in a move around the top of the climb and got a gap!
And he took the team’s first win of 2013! Geraint Thomas with the win! Moreno takes second ahead of Contador.
One Minute later the bunch crossed the line lead by Meersman, I finished safely in around 50th place.

Post Race Comments- Well, first off, great win for Geraint! We will defend that leader's jersey tomorrow although it's unlikely that he will keep it on stage 4. I hope to have a good day on that stage and maybe get my first white jersey, although I think Kelderman or Van Gardren will do better than me. See you then

Today's stage is a 193 km ride across mostly flat lands. The finish is slightly uphill so Geraint will contest the finish. Hopefully he can get a top 5.
The Race
A four man group got away from the start of the stage, they were: Kozubek of Bauknecht, Pichot of Europcar, Delle Stelle of Bardiani, and Konovalovas of MTN-Qhubeka.
I took part in the chase of the breakaway today, in support of Geraint's jersey. The break was brought back with around 20 km to go.
Jump to the last kilometer and Cavendish has mis-judged the uphill finish and is dying out there. Who will win?
We have a surprise winner as Thomas Voeckler takes his first win of the year! Thomas finishes second and picks up key bonus seconds. Marko Kump of Saxo Bank takes third. I finish 59th in the center of the bunch alongside the rest of the team.

Today's stage is flat for the first 130 km, then ends with a 8 km climb that is very steep. We want to win the stage with Froome, while trying to keep Thomas in a good GC position. My job is to set the pace on the lower slopes of the climb, I hope to finish in the top 25.
The Race
A six man group got away after about 10 km. The group included: Kern of Europcar, Pagani of Bardiani, Bookwalter of BMC, Lutsenko of Astana, Mendes of NetApp, and Castroviejo of Movistar.
For some reason, Europcar really didn’t like the group up the road and brought them back with 35 km to ride.
At the start of the climb I'm on the front as the attacks start to rain.
With 5 km to go I swing off and I'm pleased with my work, the only person that has gotten away is Daniel Moreno of Katusha and Froome has used almost zero energy.
With 3.5 km to go a group of six has formed: Froome and Cataldo, Moreno, Contador, Voeckler, and Gesink. I'm in the next group of about 30 riders with Thomas and Kiryienka.
With 1.5 km to go Froome has cracked Contador and the rest and is riding away to the summit.
Chris Froome takes the solo win! Contador takes second losing 40 seconds to Fromme. Moreno is third ahead of Gesink and Voeckler.
I finish 22nd in a group with Cobo, Kessiakoff, Weeining, and Kelderman. I'm definitely happy with my finish today.
