Why do much less mass crashes happen?

I'm gonna start of by saying that, I don't know if this is just me, I just very rarely experience mass crashes? When I see crashes its usually only 1-3 riders. So basically, is this just me this has been happening to, or does the game just generally have less mass crashes?
Thanks in advance!

I agree. Actually I think thats something the game needs more of to be more realistic. I actually haven't had any of my riders involved in a crash in this new PCM, apart from once where there was no animation and he abandoned. I think there needs to be more flats too.

It's true that the game has very few crashes compared to real life. I think I read once that more crashes = more possibility of a player's leader or something crashing = frustration for player, so that'd be why there be so few crashes. Not sure if that's true, but it makes sense.

Yes, but I recall a lot more crashes in previous versions and that never took away the fun. Sometimes it just added to the challenge. |

I know for a fact that the crash feature is far from acceptable. Especially on cobblestones, which are already terrible. Crashing seems to occur in high wind conditions and descents only in PCM13, which is quite aggravating indeed. Also, these crashes don't slow the peloton at all, the group's don't even split. They reduced the crashes because nobody could stay a threat for the win in old 100 rider crashes. Shame really, but I've already talked with Xavier about this and we aren't going to see improve t this year unless we get a surprise baby from Cyanide like last game.

Glad I'm not the only one annoyed by this I don't feel its as rewarding when I'm staying at the head of the peleton, trying to avoid getting caught behind a mass crash, and I think it could add a lot of dynamic to the game.

I agree, but I can understand the decision by Cyanide.

Especially for 1:10 scale, as any slowdowns in the pack would cause a 4 minute gap in two real seconds.

To avoid the player frustration, could it be possible in future versions that Cyanide have a scale in which you could choose the frequency of the crashes? Like they have now with the rider evolution... It could even be adjustable at any time from the options menu. This would also allow for people who don't with for crashes to be apart of the game to eliminate them completely (I personally would like more crashes, but there's bound to be people who don't want them at all).
So, on a scale of 0 to 1, the crashes could be defaulted to .3 (which is about what they are now at a guess), which could be adjusted up or down, with 1 being a large amount of crashes.
And I'm not talking about game crashes, there's faaaar too many of them as it is. On a scale of 0 to 1, those are already at 57...
When you can't decide between two options, flip a coin. Not because the result of the coin will choose for you, but because, in that split second before the coin lands, you'll know what side you want it to fall on.

That's a lot of work for something so simple. I think 0.4 with pack slowdowns behind and a 1:8 scale and I want free Photoshop with that and......

maybe the neutralisation for the last 3km is an issue
i'm almost expecting a crash to happen IRL
yet i get into the game, and i've actually lost time because of a freak crash (and they are freak for me) within the final 3km
i'd like to see more issues in races like PR or RvV, i only ever see like 1 or 2 punctures/crashes, when in reality they happen about every 5km
maybe it's because i've only been playing on normal though, i've whacked it up to extreme for this version (winning the giro by 20 mins with Basso on the old version means it's probably a little easy) |

I've had a few crashes, including one that took out both my sprinters about 5km from the end I've found there are a decent number of "big" crashes but they tend not to get my riders (But thats because I ride at the front to avoid such things) |

I do always let my best riders or leaders ride in front to prevent such huge or mash crashes. But to prevent this or minimize, it totally take away the challenging part of the game, w/c is survival to any race.

They certainly happen way to little compared to simulation. I mean, I've simmed 6 races this season so far. From which I've had a broken Collarbone, a broken leg and a fractured skull.
Of course, all three are better members of my bare minimum sized Cobbles squad. Quite how i'm going to find 8 rider to go to the Cobbles classics I'm not sure XD |

Can anyone remember those crash fests at CYM4-PCM07?
Especially on the cobblestones on every bigger cobblestone part (at the first cobble part at Paris-Roubaix there was always a crash taking out almost everytime half of the peloton)
I think there wouldn't be any problem in writing some lines into the code that would enable to have those sliders like the american sports games (NHL, NBA, NFL etc.)
I mean you have a slider for how fast a rider progresses in the career mode would it that hard to do the same for the frequency of crashes during the 3D race mode?

Funny, I think I saw over ten falls in the six races I did allready in my career, including one huge mass crash
