probably there's no thread yet because cycling season is more or less over.
Here we go, starting with big news:
Andy Schleck is back in the saddle: tomorrow he will ride (at least, start) in the Frank Vandenbroucke memorial race/Binche-Doornik-Binche - somewhere in Belgium. |

I agree it's time for News in October, but that's your concept of big news?

In other words, there's still no real news
(I'm joking btw)

Good point.
Well done manindemaan for continuing a time-honored PCMDaily tradition

The Flèche Wallonne has a new start point from next year, from Charleroi to Binche.

No. He does have 20 CQ points though, 15 of which are from WT races. |

20CQ points? Watch out people, Andy is on the loose
I do hope he puts this terrible season behind him and gets some sense for next year. I'd love to see him battle Contador once more, on the double Alpe d'Huez and on the Ventoux! |

For those who are unfamiliar with the CQ ranking:
Those 20 points are from finishing Amstel, Fleche, LBL and Oman. Not a single point is from an actual decent result.
And to put it in a perspective. Contador has been racing for two months this year, and already has 1277 points. That's 63,9 times Andy's tally!

Forgot the comma when posting.
63,9 times Andy's tally at least.

Couldn't decide whether to post this here or in an even funnier topic. This is Stijn Devolder's official bio on the Vacansoleil website:
In his first year at Vacansoleil-DCM Stijn Devolder, to his own frustration, could not fully meet expectations. However, the Belgian managed to turn the tables and revealed himself as a master helper for Wout Poels and Sergey Lagutin in the Tour of Spain. He won the modest GP Paul Borremans, which made him very happy after all his misfortunes. The Vacansoleil-DCM team management kept its trust in the rider who booked the Tour of Flanders to his name in 2008 and 2009 and who managed to become national champion in 2010 both in the road race and the time trial. When he is in good shape Stijn Devolder is a rider who should be able to do really well both in the spring classics and at a more selective level.
No wonder they let him go |

Haha that is brilliant.
I looked up the GP Paul Borremans (because I had never heard of it) and it is not under a UCI classification. Wouter Mol, his teammate, was second and the only other WT rider in the winning group was De Clerq. Other than that it was Continental Norwegian riders (for some reason?) and riders from Belgian Pro Continental teams...
Good to see he is still bringing in the big wins then

Good stat from @TourdeJose;
Andy Schleck has finished just 25 race days this year. (Total 3,494km). Best result was 22nd in the GC of the Circuit de la Sarthe. |

The really funny thing is how sardonic it is. That's the first negative official rider bio I've ever seen. |

"When he is in good shape" is the absolute clincher.
