Riders not signing even if I offer exactly what they want.

Hey guys,
I'm currently trying to sign Manuel Quinziato and Mikel Landa / Thiebaut Pinot to my team. The problem I'm having is that they don't seem to want to join my team, no matter what I do.
The money they're asking for is well within my budget, and so I offer them exactly that or sometimes even more, for the years they want and with the status they want.
Still, I get the same reply every time:
[Insert rider name here] is quite surprised about your contract offer. If you offer him such uninteresting contracts, he will decide to find a future somewhere else.
It bugs me because I really want them in my team and my offers should be far from uninteresting to them: It's exactly what they want or even better! It really pisses me off at this point because I'm trying to get my team ready for the next season.
Is this a bug or something else? What should I do? |

Maybe your team isn't interesting enough for them? |

not everyone is going just after money, team can be also important...I guess it´s pretty realistic. try to find and sign another riders.

I would call it underdevelopment from Cyanide side.
Here's the example I gave. It differs from your example but highlights the shambolic transfer system at place.
Did anyone mention transfers ?
Absolutely useless system in PCM... you either have two choices. Either the rider will sign or not. Not even the money matters, nothing.
Even with contract renewals, I once tried to renew Geraint Thomas contract and he didn't want to. Then I put his wage at 150,000, becoming highest paid cyclist in the peleton, yet he didn't accept. I restarted, next time he renew for 5,000. Logic ? ... There's seems none. Hope they do something to the transfer system and as well make the transfers a bit more relastic.
This game is supposed to be a pro cycling 'manager' right ?
Others agree as well and highlight the issue at hand.
I totally agree. I offerred Tyler Farrar 125,000 to stay with me, but he went to Lotto, for only 80,000.

The thing is, no, teams don't matter either. You can see Wiggins signing for Euskaltel and Kittel for Androni. Total nonsense, it seems to be absolutely random.

@ Alakagom
Hang on, are you saying that whether a rider signs or not is completely random?
If this is the case, I'm just going to edit them into my team. |

My opinion, based on experience, so I don't know how accurate it is, is that, yes, it is completely random.

Cheers for the quick reply kumazan.
In fact, you were so quick the first time, it didn't even show before I replied to Alakagom, which made it seem like I was ignoring you.
You pretty much answered the question before I could ask it, so thanks! |

Of course it is random, but not totally, and it is good that is is like that.
If you could get and keep every rider you want, then the game would become boring fast.
Like in real life, some athletes try to find a better contract or team. Maybe they want a better role or more money or just because they hate the trainer, coach, manager, or they are not feeling liked by them. |

I could be wrong, but good riders tend to look for the best teams. You won't see Contador going to Team Europcar, I think. |

That's not true necessarily. There has always been the classic example of Wiggins signing for Caja Rural.

Wow, didn't know about that. Then it does seem quite random |

Do you mean Millar to Saunier Duval? |

It it more or less random. In my ongoing career I have seen Cavendish go to Euskatel and Cancellara make the move to Landbouwkredit.

Based on the examples you gave, you still say it's "more or less random"?

It's ironic that out of all possibilities, you give this one as an example :
