Hey guys,
As you probably know, I already made quite a lot of shirts for PCM (11 in total).
When I reach 50 (I know, it will take a while, perhaps I can do a 2013 DB by then ), I am planning to make a custom DB, using my own jerseys, and custom teams. New sponsors, new colours...
Does anyone think this is interesting, and will actually play it?

I forgot about stages, it would be great if you showed me your work! (both jerseys and stages)

I wouldn't use the database. But that is also because I don't like fantasy databases. But if the interest is big then I think you should go for it.

I think complete fantasy scenarios are tough to get into. Football Manager has that option to use fake names, I did it once and hated it. I think you need the history to draw you into the game.
So I think you are better off going for a what if scenario that has some base in history. LIke what if they actually implemented that crazy break-away league that was covered in cycling news where you had permanent teams and all the races were 4 days. So you keep the big tours and you keep real riders but you have new teams and all these new races.
Still not sure I would play it but I think you would need some hook to reality like that. |

I would definately play it. It would be nice to try something new.

Thanks for the comments guys! And Ulrich Ulriksen, of course the riders will keep their names
fickman, your work looks very good, keep it up!
Perhaps you could try to make less extreme stages, because they need to be something special. Maybe you can start making variants of the GT (with real mountains and roads), or we can ask an advanced stage maker to help you.
But it will take a while before we finish.

Perhaps you could try to make a TDF, including the Puy de Dome, Alpe d'Huez and the Mont Ventoux. And of course some flat stages, hilly stages, a prologue and time trials. Like it could be the real route.

So you can now start planning a route . Of course the 3 mountains I named are not the only mountains, but they would be great as mountain finishes. Other mountains in this Tour would be halfway the stage, I think.
Good luck!

Actually it should be 21 stages, I think, without counting rest days. But the route looks very good, perhaps you can make the Monaco ITT longer, and a stage with le Puy de Dome (the PdD is not far from Super-Besse, I think).

Gonna be specially interesting to see how the riders will cope with the mountain range changes (from Pyrenees to the Alps in two stages). ( )
And too many MTF (6 mountain stages, 6 MTFs).

247 KM with a finish on the summit of le Puy de Dome would be too long. I think 190 KM would be the maximum for a stage like that. Perhaps cut off the first part of that stage?

I agree with Cancellara that is way too long.

But fickman, remember, we are only doing criticism so you can improve
I appreciate you want to help.
Any more volunteers, by the way?
Oh, and I've got some good news. nilserik gave me permission to use all of his wonderful stages in my/our DB! If you want too see his work, go to his thread: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....rowstart=0

He has a very nice TDF race but i think that his ITTs might be to long. I do like the addition of cobbles on a mountain stage though.
