Very nice start, although it's quite strange to count Alberto's Giro win in the Notable Victories given the story will pass in 2011 Wink

Good luck, Tour and cobble classics should be great Grin

Nice team choice, dispite of Contador they really have to attack to get some results. Larsson is a great rider, I only think the Porte is a bit overrated for what he showed in real life. In my DB he also has high stats for climbing while he never showed he could be up with the best for several times...

Nevertheless, I won't bore your story with any of my monkey talk anymore. I wish you a lot of succes!

While we sports directors (me, Bjarne, Dan, Bradley, Jørgen and Torsten) are planning the season, 4 Of Our riders jump started the season home in Australia with the national time trial championship.

Porte, Tanner, Roberts and Cooke is ofcourse our men. It was great to watch them ride, altough we had to see it on television. Specially fun was to see Porte take the 2. place, only 33sec behind Rogers, it's good to see that all the hard work on the tt bike this winter is paying of.

Porte really close to the title. Could have been nice to see him in the TTs with his national shirt.

Let's see how they do in the road race.

Good luck!

Stage 1
i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx133/10theri/SaxoBank%20-%20Sundgaard%20historie/Santos-TDU-UCI-OTO-Col1-200x146.jpg

First stage of the STDU and we are all very excited. Cooke feels good and ready to go for the victory. But with riders like Hushovd, Boonen and Bennati, we knew that we had to make almost a perfect last 10km to take the win.

i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx133/10theri/SaxoBank%20-%20Sundgaard%20historie/Stage1profil.png
A break away got loose pretty early, with Stannard (Team Sky) and our own Tosatto in the lead.
i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx133/10theri/SaxoBank%20-%20Sundgaard%20historie/Breakaway2stannardtosatto.png
and a second group with 2 Lampre riders, 1 Liquigas rider,
1 Euskatel rider and 1 Vacansolei rider. They where 1 minuite behinde Stannard and Tosatto at all times, and had at most 4'44 down to the peleton.
i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx133/10theri/SaxoBank%20-%20Sundgaard%20historie/breakaway2-1.png
At the KoM sprint Tosatto took 16points, which means he will ride in the mountain jersey tomorrow. He also won both intermediate sprints which gives him 12p.
i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx133/10theri/SaxoBank%20-%20Sundgaard%20historie/Tosattoclimb.png

With 21km to go the first group was caught by the peloton, while Tosatto and Stannard was caught with 16km to go. So the sprinters began to maneuver into the best position for the mass sprint.
We had Roberts leading our train, with Jørgensen as lead out man. With 2km to go Jørgensen startet the sprint, Cooke went from his wheel with 1,2km left, he was in perfect position. And that made his job easy, Cooke took the victory infront of Galimzyanov (Katusha) and Ventoso (Moviestart).
i749.photobucket.com/albums/xx133/10theri/SaxoBank%20-%20Sundgaard%20historie/Cookewins.png

A great first day Down under, Tosatto with both the KoM and points jersey after his breakaway. And we are quite satisfyed that Cooke managed to take the stage win, altough we where suprised to not se Bennati, Boonen or Hushovd in the sprint.

2. day down under, we had 3 jersey's after yesterday and we wanted to defend the GC and KoM classification.
And in that matter, Tosatto managed to get into the breakaway also today. In a group of 12 riders. The group got at most 2min back to the peleton.

Tosatto took 6points on the 2. sprint, and he also took 16p on the KoM. Which gives him 32p on the ranking and a 20p lead down to Stannard and Quinziato.

The peleton waited long before they started to catch the breakaway, but with 6,5km to the finish line, the break away was caught and again it was up to the sprinters.

Roberts speeded up the SaxoBank train, and with 2km to go Jørgensen went from his wheel with Cooke not long behind.
Galimzyanov (Katusha) had a smal lead with 1km to go, then Cooke went from Jørgensens wheel. With 500m to go Galimzyanov and Cooke where even, but Galimzyanov was tired, and had no chance against Cooke.

Cooke takes his 2. stage win, and again the absence of Hushovd, Boonen and the other sprinters is suprising us.

(a little problem with the export;
Cooke leads the GC and Points (together with Tosatto)
Tosatto leads the KoM and Points (Together with Cooke)
Denis Galimzyanov is the best -25
and Quick-Step is the best team)
