Veilleux has been a a professional on the North American scene since 2007 when he turned pro with Jittery Joe's at the age of 19.
He was initially an off-road rider, with his first notable result being third in the 2002 Canadian debutant cyclo cross championship. By the year 2006 (age 19) he was U23 Canadian TT Champ, which he defended 3 years in a row. Then in 2008 he moved to Kelly-Benefit Strategies where he rode until the end of 2010. His first big win with the team came at the Tour of Pennsylvania. In 2009 we saw David finish 10th at the World U23 ITT Championships, and a bronze in the U23 Pan American U23 ITT Champs. Last season David won the Tour de Delta a local race in British Colombia and the US Pro Criterium championships, becoming the first Canadian to ever triumph there. Then at the end of the 2010 season it was announced that newly formed team Europcar had signed the young Canadian, a shock to many. Some say he could be up there with Hesjedal in a few years, but others think he will become someone like Steve Bauer or Sven Tuft, not so great at climbing but a real workhorse.
Basically I wanted to start a blog about my cycling career, because I think not too many people, know just how much work it is to be a pro cyclist, and I think its something fun to do as well. I remember watching Geraint Thomas' video documentary during the 2007 TDF on ITV and he looked like he was having fun, so I just thought to myself what if I did that? I have also read other great blogs from bigtime cyclists like Jonas Aaen Jorgensen, Dan Martin, Saul Raisin and others and it seemed successful for them. Through my blogging you can also follow my twitter account for short updates and my teams Twitter account to follow the rest of the teams news, results and anything else that would make the headlines. But first off I have to travel to the team camp and get my legs back in shape after this cold Canadian winter and get that extra layer of fat off myself, thanks in part to some roast turkey at Christmas dinner not too long ago. Happy new year and bye for now.

Thanks chrica04 and Alakagom.
My story with SpiderTech might still happen, but I prefer one-rider stories atleast writing them myself, and I had way better ideas for this than I did for a team story with SpiderTech. Plus I loved Europcars shirts, and Arashiro + Voeckler + Canadian on the team = a must write.

@wacko-From one "one-rider story-writer to another" this means a lot. Thanks. And good luck in the next stage for Alex. I hope he gets the KOM jersey back.

69 or 70 in hill, 65-68 in mountain, and his tt stats will be about 67-70, plus a 65-70 sprint stat and a 70 on flat.
But he's only 23 and can still improve a lot...
Edit: Basically his stats will be very close to those of the pcm.daily db. Cause im using it.

Hope you have as much, or even more, success compared to the same man in my team on the man game.

Something like that. Actually he might be close to JAJ although not as good at sprint and better at TT.

Thanks Christer! I hope his season is more successful too. And nice idea with WWE for your next teams sponsor.
