Ive hoped to do this for a while, but held it off a bit so that now this gives an opportunity for some of the active managers mid-season, and I now feel the race posting activity is strong enough in the PT and CT divisions for this to not interfere.
In the July month of the management game, a 5 race U23 Division will take place open to all free agent U23 riders, and stagiares of existing teams. 24 different teams of 6 riders will take on the following races:
GP Stad Zottegem (Flat classic, Belgium)
Sachsen Tour International (Stage race with flat, hills and tt, Germany)
GP d'Isbergues (Flat classic, France)
Brixia Tour (Stage race with flat, hills, mountain, Italy)
GP du canton d'Argovie (Hill classic, Switzerland)
Now, all of these 24 U23 teams are desperate to be sponsored by either PT or CT teams, so if you are an interested manager, please sign up in this thread.
Your team of 6 U23 riders will ride in all 5 races. Using the nationality of your team, or a nationality that you feel is affiliated with your team, youll take U23 riders from that nation and be able to mix them with Stagiares who are set to come into your main squad in August - note: nationality of stagiare does not have to be the same as teams nationality, but at least 4 of the teams riders must be of the teams nationality.
To sign up all you need to do is state the nationality of the team. You may combine more than 1 nationality, if there is a good enough reason. (i.e. necessity as your main nation doesnt have enough riders, going for a region without a team (such as Asia) if there are already a couple of U23 teams chosen for your team's nationality)
A few important things to note:
- To start with, this is only open to managers who do not have 2 teams already. If demand is low, then those manager can then take up this U23 team if they wish.
- No riders will gain XP in these races - its all about the chance for these riders to race against similarly strengthed competition.
- Riders on U23 teams who are not Stagiares will be free agents as usual at the next transfer season - there will be no option to buy them in advance in the team renewals phase.
- How this relates to Avenir: The top 5 teams in the U23 competition will secure a spot in the big U23 race, Tour de l'Avenir, taking place in August, with Avenir remaining the only U23 race open to all U23 riders. Riders on your U23 team are able to ride for your Avenir team if you have space to fill.
- Any rider born in 1988 or later is eligible for the U23 division. (This is different from the age qualification that will be in place for Avenir)
Once the 24 team spots are filled, we move to rider selection. If you are the only team of a certain nationality, you get free reign to pick who you want. If theres more than 1, therell be a draft style process where you list in order of priority which riders you want, and then they will be allocated to you by me.

There are no free agents (especially U23) or staigares from Israel, can I sponsor a team w/ a different nationality (i.e. French, I have a strong French contingent)? |

Never mind, I missed that little bit about nationality affiliated w/ a team. El-Al will sponsor a French side. |

I don't get it. It's just for the waste of time we do this, or what do we actively get from it?
Our stagiares don't get racedays, and we don't improve on talents in the db?

So it's for the waste of time (Nothing negative in that, I just need to get it figured before entering)...
If I could make some FA's better riders then I would probably take part of this

If you consider it a waste of time, theres no need to bother with it. So long as enough people think they will enjoy it enough to take part, then itll be done. I could maybe be persuaded on the whole XP front, but then id reconsider not allowing managers already with 2 teams of entering.

Well watching stand up is a waste of time aswell, and I still enjoy that, so it wasn't meant negatively, as I also wrote...
I would be interested if the xp could be influated (I don't have any stagiares, but simply to be able to influate the FA's). There aren't a big chance of me getting those riders anyway if they get too interesting, but it would make it fun for me

Ive been thinking on XP, and I think it could work to make it results based. So the better a rider does, the more xp they get. So as well as trying to become the best rider in the U23 division, and get their team in the Top 5 of the U23 team standings to guaranatee an Avenir spot, the riders will be there trying to gain more xp aswell.

You leave San Marino alone. They're close friends of Wiggle's.
