Important to note that we are still French, we are just registererd in Luxembourg (and going half Luxembourgian) for, ehm, not tax reason at all!

kandesbunzler26
The real reason for leaving France (and get a Luxembourgian team, me sticking with that is the price you'll have to pay Pfft) is obviously not (only) tax reduction, but also saving the French social security contributions as it allows to sign the riders as self-employed instead of employees - which throws another shade on this dubious move Embarassed

Spoiler
And that's actually a real issue as I've learned from the Pais Vasco coverage on German Eurosport thanks to Jens Voigt.

We deny this scandelous fake news. The reason for us to have our riders self-employed got nothing, NOTHING I say, to do with social security and saving money! This is just a rival trying to trick riders to do worse for themself!

Yes our riders will be selfemployed but it is about freedom and liberty! The chance to control their own lives and career in a much better way then being controlled by strict employment! We offer our riders the possibility to let go of the shackles that other teams put on them!

It's revealing that everything is about "freedom" (of social security).

There are some teams who believe in fraternity and equality as well, but you've probably never heard of those things in Luxembourg ...

We are not surprised that the far-leftist radicals come here wanting us to be communists! Go pay your riders all the same wage and let them suffer the equality! We believe in quality! And are willing to pay for it!

kandesbunzler26
So offering the statutory required social security to give our riders a pension and a safety net in case of injury is far-left communism ...

We'll see which riders will opt for "radicalism" in transfers Cool

Of course it is communism and socialism. We leave it up to our own riders to decide how to spend their money so that they can get the most out of their career. It is up to each and everyone to decide the risk for injury and get their insurances. Why should we demand that part of their wage goes to something they might not need? No!

Fun way to learn about the tax status of smaller European nations Pfft
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Peugeot development

Naturally when teams have more money and been around the peloton for a longer time they have been able to pick up and develop more riders, but we are still quite proud of our crop of talents. They might not be the next TDF or monument winners, but still riders who should be main stays on the team for many years in important positions

Arno Wallenborn3.0850 000 €Hill -> Hill

Lvl 4.1007067727756767570566373737256

You could perhaps say that hills training is boring but it fits Arno like a glove. He will from next season be able to ride as a domestique and even getting some breakaway chances before he really starts to become a good puncheur by himself in the future. He might never be a monument winner but he will be an important building stone for our future team.

Maicol Adrian Tabarez3.1550 000 €Stage Race -> Stage Race

Lvl 4.1006777716573727076555762677172

Late pickup during the transfer season and he might not look like the most impressive stage racer out there with low hill, low acc and low energy stats. We do however see Tabarez as an amazing low cost climbing domestique who will be a great asset for us for many years. His combination of climbing and TT will be important when he has finished his development!

Camilo Andres Gomez3.1150 000 €Stage Race -> Stage Race

Lvl 4.1006576737170737274575965676969

Another rider in the same mold as Tabarez but better on the shorter climbs and with a bit less TT. Low energy stats and low acc most likely makes him a for life domestique but we believe he will be an important cog in future stage race trains

In general a crop of talents we are quite happy with, no world beaters but riders who can stay with the team "forever" and be important pieces

Those three should be reliable depth pieces for years to come, as you said! Very decent return on talents for a first season I would say Smile

kandesbunzler26
As you said, no world-beaters there but some solid future domestiques. I also like that you kept the regional focus with South American and Luxembourgian riders and stayed away from foreign (f.e. French) riders Wink
