A July update for PT is a pretty simple thing, did you do well in TDF? Ok you did well in July. I will do as I did for PCT and start at the bottom and then move up towards the top.
While they did not have the worst month Jura GIANTS stay in 22nd with a total of 553 points this month, they are right in behind Grieg-Maersk who had the worst month of all PT teams and fell to 21st. Together with Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo Pro Cycling in 20th it seems like we have 3 teams that will have to start planning for PCT next season
Another team who has been fighting in the bottom all season is Los Pollos Hermanos who stays in 19th after getting 771 points this month. Looking at total and projected scores they are in a tight fight with Sony - Force India in 18th and Gazelle in 17th. The fight against relegation could be down to the last race of the season. Sony the best scorer in TDF here, not suprising with Haig on the team, but ok scores for the month from both LPH and Gazelle!
Another team fighting against relegation, but a bit in front of the others are Team UBS. Not their strongest month and they fall one spot from 15th but still got a little cushion, will it be enought when everything is tallied up? 100 points in front of them we have Team Puma - SAP, and while the news is that they will end the team after the season after their manager has gone missing, we believe they will rise up the table as their big star still has quite some racing left.
Not the best month for Aker - MOT with 657 points and a fall from 12th to 14th. This seems like a middle of the pack season for Aker as I can't see them really falling into the danger zone, but also unsure how they can climb alot. Just 11 points over Aker we got Cedevita who scored just enough points to beat out Aker on the standings and rising from 14th to 13th.
The (joint) biggest fall this month goes to Fastned, they had an okay Rund um Koln but not scoring a lot in France makes them fall from 8th to 123th, being 1 of 2 teams falling out of top 10. The other team falling to 11th is Indosat Ooredoo. They didn't really have a bad month, it is just that other teams have a better month...
Going into top 10 we can take the 2 newcomers here, first in 10th cycleYorkshire who sent a squad for the sprints in TDF and walked away with a strong score. The other team rises all the way from 13th to 9th on the back of a young Danish climber is Carlsberg - Danske Bank. A great GC position and white jersey in TDF really helps on the overall standings with a score of 1011, first team over 1000 points in July!
The manager of ELCO - ABEA declared this years TDF as his worst ever and they go from 5th to 8th. Still in the top 10 as a promoted team I guess they team should be happy. Only 470 pts this month though, being the only team where TDF was not the best scoring race this month! In 7th we have Polar who scored 532 points, other than that not alot to say this month for them. In 6th we have the other team who managed to climb 4 spots in Xero Racing. A strong scoring month takes them (like Carlsberg) right over 1000 points making them the 4th highest scoring team this month!
Going into the top 5 we have the 3rd highest scoring team of July in Tinkoff Team - La Datcha. 1132 points in July with 1028 coming from a 2nd place in TDF! In front of them EA Vesuvio falls from top of the standings and out of top 3 to 4th. They are the least scoring top 10 team this month wih 625 after not sending any of their real top guys to France this year.
The first team in top 3 climbs from 4th and that is King Power. Not really a super month from them, but 826 points gives them just that little tiny lead over EA (20 pts...). Then staying in 2nd the great season of Rabobank just continues, stage wins everywhere, green jersey... Rabobank is just a great story this season!
Then in first place, with nearly 700 more points this month than the second best scorer we have pre season favorite and new leader in the standings Evonik - ELKO. Not only did they win TDF but they raced all races this month and scored well in all of them. Seems like we have come to the point of the season where they say hasta la vista to everyone else and takes the title home!
Best scorer of July comes as no suprise with TDF winner Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier. He climbs from 34th to 3rd this month with a total score of 889. If I had made a prediction before the month he would've been first there, but 2nd place however I would NOT have given to Stanislaw Aniolkowski. Whatever Rabobank are feeding their riders this season I want some of it! He rises from 50th to 8th scoring just ~100 points less than PHL with his 775.
No suprise that other top riders from TDF scores will this month with 2nd place GC Pavel Sivakov, white jersey winner Mattias Skjelmose Jensen, 3rd plce GC Jack Haig, sprinter ace Gabriel Cullaigh and Polkadot winner Sergio Higuita following on the next places. All of them climbing well in the standings.
Daan Olivier of Xero also climbs on behalf of his TDF going from 109 to 45th, while Kaden Groves winning the sprinters championship on Champs Elyssee makes him the 9th best scorer this month. Top 10 is rounded out by Colin Stüssi.

Quite some changes in the top this month with 4 new faces in top 10, and thus also 4 riders falling out of top 10. Not so surprising with the biggest race of the season this month. Eddie Dunbar (to 16th), Mauri Vansevenant (to 15th), Fernando Gaviria (to 14th) and David Per (to 11th) are no longer among the top 10 of the division!
Climbing into 10th, from being 18th last month is KoM winner in France Sergio Higuita, he is right behind another new face (and the only one not climbing based on his TDF result) Stylianos Farantakis who goes from 13th to 9th.
Green Jersey winner Stanislaw Aniolkowski climbs to 8th based on his fantastic TDF nad is right behind teammate Remco Evenepoel who goes down to 7th after taking a summer vacation.
In 6th we find Mads Pedersen who is still trying to find some way to keep his team from relegating, they just need to find someone else who can score when there are few cobbles for him, he is right behind another rider taking a month on the beach in Egan Bernal who goes from 3rd to 5th. Another rider who fall 2 spots and out of top 3 is Tom Wirtgen in 4th. Not a lot of action from him this month.
Winning TDF comes with a lot of points and Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier climbs into top 3 with a total score of 1437, just 53 points behind the leader who is his team mate Miguel Angel Lopez who goes from 4th to 1st. 4 points behind him, splitting the Evonik stars are Giro winner Merhawi Kudus. He barely looses out on the 1st spot.
But on the bright side we have a good gap to those behind us. So while we might not be surprise winners we might make the surprise of finishing on the podium.
Our best performers so far, Remco and Aniolkowski, don't have a lot of races left. So it will be up to Champoussin, Gerts and Formolo to carry us from now on.

Outstanding month for us where a TDF victory was arguably the worst race for us. I almost want to go through past updates to see if anybody had 600+ points lead in monthly ranking. Thats gotta be quite rare.
Ive always said that we needed quite a gap now as the remaining schedule isnt too favorable. Lecuisinier is done with his season, Lopez doesnt have too much left either. Luckily the gap has grown a lot due to races like Lithuania going superb and we can lose a bit. We probably are back to favourites as whatever team wants to challenge us probably needs a big vuelta but Skjelmose is just the most recent example that you always have to expect it in a gt
Damn, I knew Skjelmose had a good race, but didn't realize it was that good. Almost going to be a problem for us now with his wages next year surely surging beyond his actual value. Youth points bumping him that won't be available next near. But his season is done in any case, so he'll slip a little bit by the end.
Overall, we had a tremendous overperforming month with both the TDF and a little help from a good San Sebastien, and we're now set up properly for the end of the year. We went for a standings win goal this season, so not much left to gain now that we've seemingly avoided relegation. Would like like to get our Vuelta Top 10 goal with Carthy and start thinking about our training plans.

RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
We had a very good TDF for us, but when looking at the rankings I fear to see where we would be if we didn't. We basically just kept our spot. All the teams around us scored similar amounts or more. I guess we gained on Fastned and that's about it.
Going forward Pogacar was already done at the last update. Now Ackermann is also done, great finish of the season by him. All we have left to lean on are cobbles and sprints. Luckily Siric had a great restart in Kigali, but more than likely it looks like we're in the hunt for another 16th place finish.
Massive month for Evonik here, with also Calmejane taking a surprise win.
We had a horrible Tour de France obviously, but still scored somewhat respectable because of Farantakis. Being in the top 10 this late in the season is great. Let’s see if We Can somehow find a Way to stay there. It’s going to be difficult, and we need something completely different from the Vuelta!
