Mozzato being a lifesaver here, or it would have been a very bad opening block for me. Some assist points, but Pluimers crashing, Philipsen's flat tires and Barré's double DNF were not good.
Block 2 preview and ranking update coming tomorrow, but remember I need your Block 2 startlists soon after.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Good race for us in Omloop. Unfortunately Rex got added to the Kuurne startlist after things sealed off and we lost some point there. But considering our top 2 picks are out, not a bad start.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Nobody in the top 10 in any race this weekend and the guys who did score are primarily the ones I didn't pick. So that went well.
Not sure I can make the deadline if I wait for the preview. So here is set 2, not looking promising.
SIMMONS Quinn
SHEFFIELD Magnus
PITHIE, Laurence
WITHEN PHILIPSEN Albert
KRON Andreas
TURNER Ben
CORT, Magnus
CHRISTEN Fabio

The Italian Job
| BLOCK 2 | The Italian Job | | | 3/03/2026 | Le Samyn | CT1 | | 4/03/2026 | Trofeo Laigueglia | CT1 | | 7/03/2026 | Strade Bianchi | WT1 | | 7/03/2026 | Rhodes GP | CT2 |
After the Flemish opening weekend, we now have the season openers in Wallonia and Italy. Le Samyn has always been a good scorer in this game, while the Italian races usualy have the bad reputation of incomplete startlists. Still, for the Strade Bianchi (our first WT1 race), we should expect some big names to start there. Lastly, we go to Greece for the Rhodes GP. It will be interesting to see if anyone can steal some points there.
I will need your startlists by tomorrow morning, that's tuesday 03/03 at 10:00 CET.

Obviously a very good start for us with MVDP and Jorgenson this opening weekend. Besides that, our team was already quite thin, but now that Van Gils and Wellens are out with injuries, even more so.
For now, four starters in this group, all of them in Strade Bianche.

Rankings update 1
Lots of scoring in this block, and since it's the only one I can compare to the past, we've scored 400 points more compared to last year! All podium finishers got drafted and selected, so congratulations to everyone! Also, 4 different teams winning races so far, very interesting.
Let's start off with the Omloop. No suprise the Hornets won the race with Mathieu, but they did get outscored by both the Barnacles and the Ice Tulips who had better depth. Only the Inspectors couldn't score here.
Over to France for the Faun-Ardèche Classic. An impressive win for young Seixas and the Inspectors to bounce back, also holding off the Chumps and the Racoons for best scoring team.
On sunday we went to Kuurne where we saw another impressive win from a young talent, Matthew Brennan won it for the Chumps, but the Overlords got the most points thanks to some (dubious) assists.
Finally the Drome Classic saw Gregoire win it for the Hussars. But once again the win was not enough pointwise, as the Chumps and Hornets outscored them.
For the rankings, the first lead goes to the Chumps! A great scoring sunday gives them the edge over the Hornets, who probably lost it in a pointless Kuurne. Third place is for the Hussars, who already won the worst draft deadline team award.
Next up are the Racoons and Barnacles in 4th and 5th. It's still very close, but both these teams left some points on the table with selection mistakes. Then there's a small gap to the Overlords, who only really scored in Kuurne.
Up next are the Ice Tulips, who couldn't keep up with a great start in Omloop. The Rainbow Warriors scored everywhere, but no big result yet. The Sliders are tied for 9th, mostly thanks to good old Trentin, with the Inspectors who are keen on finding out where Seixas' limits are.
At the bottom we find the Croissants and the D. Both saw there top draft pick struggle this weekend, with no one else stepping up yet.
| OHN | FAC | KBK | DRO | SP1 | | Chumps | 16 | 76 | 100 | 94 | 286 | | Hornets | 128 | 56 | 0 | 89 | 273 | | Hussars | 70 | 47 | 36 | 80 | 233 | | Racoons | 70 | 78 | 42 | 36 | 226 | | Barnacles | 188 | 0 | 12 | 0 | 200 | | Overlords | 37 | 6 | 106 | 6 | 155 | | Ice Tulips | 132 | 0 | 14 | 0 | 146 | | Rainbow Warriors | 64 | 2 | 44 | 10 | 120 | | Sliders | 22 | 7 | 80 | 0 | 109 | | Inspectors | 0 | 80 | 19 | 10 | 109 | | Croissants | 18 | 0 | 15 | 42 | 75 | | D | 24 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 24 |
For the riders, it's a 3 way tie at the top. We will have to wait till Strade to have a clear leader.

Good team on paper, but sadly not on the Flemish roads Decent by Lapeira in France luckily, and seems like at least it was a good idea to select Sénéchal and Kielich for teammate points. Sucks to see Küng out though, as he already was kind of our only real cobbler I fear.
