Ooooooo this makes it interesting did not expect to be this close to Galta after this stage, could actually have a chance to win this now on Stage 6, only problem is Rachiid being so close could see Turtles taking 20s on us and 40s on Peugeot in the TTT so stage 6 just became a lot more interesting.
As per usual great ride Smith he's been super consistent this year and this nearly guarantees a top 3 overall already fantastic
Congrats Heine! |

Great ride from rookie Gavin Hlady. Kozhat did well to stick with the front group, so can't be too upset at losing yellow. Proud of everyone's efforts on a difficult stage.

Much, much better on stage three, absolutely fantastic to see the leadout firing like that and even getting points from Eislers on top of the win. More of the same in the next stage please! The less we say about the non-sprint stages the better, although it was nice to see some representation in the breakaway at least, and perhaps Dina can go for the KoM on the next mountain stage.

Prediction
Stage wins Perrera x2 and +1 random spritner
Excellent prediction sir. Looked like Perera might've gone too early, glad he managed to hold on. No hope for the last two stages but even if our name never gets mentioned on those, it'll have been a very successful race.

Funny how you can guarantee that at least once a race the lead out will mess up!
Perera proving again he's the best sprinter in the div top result
Delighted with Gibbons 3rd great ride from him
The big one tomorrow interested to see if it can suit Smith as much as I think, need to really drop Rachiid a bit to have a chance at the top 2 so could go either way |

Dissapointing result by Liepins, as we had been hoping he could leave here with the green jersey. Oh well, amazing result by the Sri Lankan |

Hum, not too bad from the duo in the end, and without the TTT that'd be statisfying positions in that field I guess.
Let's see how we'll play this last stage.
Congtats to the stage winners, thanks a lot for the reports!

Great effort by Smith only be good enough for 3rd overall as the impressive Rachiid will flip us in the TTT think Galta may have done just enough to hold off the Turtles. Both teams starting their expected title charge now congrats! |

Been following along without comment because I'm scared that I would've jinxed us by now. Alas, I have to hope that we've done enough to at least secure 3rd place here. Two fantastic mountain stages by Rachid and good work by the team overall too for at least the team classification.
Still think we have a chance at the overall victory! 51 seconds is a lot, but that's why we have the team we have. Let's go show folks what it means to be the TTT team

Closer than I like with 12 seconds, but a great race for us! 3 stage wins, GC, KoM and Pts and a 2nd aswell.
Thanks for great reports!

The great late career of Galta continues, always love to see it!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Last two stages went pretty much as expected, would've been nice to crack the top 10 on stage 7 but doesn't really matter, we're hardly a TTT outfit. Congrats to Heine on an incredible race, roaring back into the promotion fight.

Starting with the ugly... woah 7:00min is a lot of times to lose for Merchan. Now we intended to drop him, but even I didn't think he could fully drop out of the top 25. Will keep that in mind for the future!
But that's the ONLY ugly! What a fantastic result for the TTT crew to really challenge for the overall race victory and green shell the competition for the stage victory. We knew that Glanbia and KMM would always be strong competitors, but our team will always fully back ourselves in these situations. What a great feeling to have this come together.
Rachid takes 2nd overall which is our best GC race in a race with mountains - following up Montenegro's GC victory in Luxembourg as our best hilly GC result ever. And without bonus seconds, Rachid would have been the overall victor. That means that in our 3rd transfer season, we were actually able to come up with a semi-coherent plan for the season. Very, very proud of the ways these 7 stages came together.
Congrats to Heine on the success of Galta and commiserations to our friends at KMM. They would've expected what we got from Rachid out of Habtemichael and Evans. Am sure they'll come around for another race soon.
