Foss is still looking strong so far but he also is in that weird in between zone of too strong to attack, too weak to stay ahead of other attackers if things stay the same as in previous games...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

About what to expect from Stüssi there. Still very unsure of what’s to come though - it seems like anything could happen in the coming mountain stages. It looks like Dombrowski and Champoussin payed for their efforts yesterday as well, with Pogacar and Kudus improving.
Congrats beagle on the win and thank you for the report!

Action packed amongst the top GC guys, which is great to see. A very nice show to follow!
For us, it says a lot about our belief in these difficult stages when we decide to send Konychev and Kragh into the breakaways the last two days. Fingers crossed Williams gets more interested as the race goes on. |

Champoussin cracked quite hard there. With this big time loss and the time-trial coming up means he will be quite low in the GC. Hopefully that will mean some breakaway action.

Its concerning for Kudus to not be taking time here as I imagine he'll have a gap of a couple minutes to make up after the TT. Either way congrats to beagle.

We don't have a strong enough breakaway guy to really do anything here. I appreciate Eg being the first of our guys to try something, but he's just not that kind of rider unfortunately.
Carthy rock solid again. A top 5 is a nice stage result and keeps Carthy in good position. It seems inevitable he'll either have a bad day or get jumped by similar riders who fell behind and can make breaks, but we'll worry about that aspect when it happens.

What in the world?
Those gaps are crazy! Bernal over 2 minutes to everyone else. Wow. Obviously a huge favorite now with almost five minutes on Kudus. Though he'll have a lot of guys to defend against. Foss also has been amazing this race. Guess his training was well worth it.
Carthy obviously is not a time trialist, though I didn't really calculate to lose over 7 minutes here. But maybe it's for the best if it puts him in a more aggressive bracket? I don't know, it's kind of playing with fire in that sense. Can't be mad with the current situation though when I knew Carthy's faults all along.
Congrats to beagle and thanks for the report!

Thank you for the report! And wow, that is a TT!
And what a race this can be from here. Bernal the favourite now, but he will surely be attacked. And Foss, what a way to do it, beating Ganna’s time at the finish and holding on to a stage podium. Congratulations to both managers
Also a very good stage for King Power regarding their GC hope for McNulty, I’d say, evnthough Ganna missed out on the stage podium. |

Crazy TT, massive performance from Bernal albeit expected, time for him to play defence.
On a personal level, ideal performances wtih Barguil dropping far enough back that breaks should be on the menu and nice to see Milan get some shine in the hot seat in his home GT!
Thanks for the report!

Hard not to be disappointed and discouraged about our prospects for the win after this result. There is a chance that the remaining mountain stages won't be decisive enough to work in our favor, especially with Kudus not getting separation yesterday. So, could be race here with this performance.

Thanks. What a ride by him!
As bbl also wrote, he has been super consistent so far. Still a bit scared that hell get overtaken by quite a few riders to land in that "not enough gc points but also not attacking" area but this is a great stage for us obviously.
Congrats to beagle. What a domination!

Oh wow.
Big stage, and hard to think to all the implication it'll have. I'd say the third week might be sufficient to shake all this GC if nobody helps Polar, but hard to say how each team will play that out.
Exciting report KB, thanks for writing it!

That is wild. How on earth does Stüssi lose 2mins to Darbellay when they’re almost the same rider? Craziness. He moves into 10th now but crazy that he would lose 4(!)minutes here. Bernal totally untouchable. Was there some kind of weighting towards stage racers for this TT also? Seemed like a few stage racers with average TT stats outperformed, or performed similarly to riders with better TT stats.
Crazy implications for the rest of the race. Kudus has a great team and Polar an ok one, I wonder if UBS can go full 2012 Sky train and demolish the competition from here to get him back in contention. Champoussin losing 10+ mins also is something else too. I wonder if the Slovenie TT might produce similar results?
Thanks for the report Kb, and congrats beagle again on Bernal’s dominance

Crazy gaps, and also some very surprising over/underperformances. Giannoutsos did surprisingly well here! Well my entire team did better than I would have dared to Dream about.
A few points for Karatsivis for climbing to 2nd in the U25 is nice to see.

I have never played this game, but based on earlier editions, it surely matters that this TT came directly off two difficult mountain stages where everyone has been drained energy wise? At least that is what I think, but hopefully someone with more knowledge can explain

Catching up on the weekend's action...
Not much was expected from the high mountains or the TT as far as the GC goes, and that's how it has gone. However, us not joining breaks is possibly an indication that we will mostly be spectators in this race from here. Hope that is not true as we need the points.
Congrats to the winners and thanks for the reports!

Nice for AKA to get a top 10 there. Don't think there's much more to hope for in these for us. Congrats to ryant!

Can’t really complain about 11th from Zingle here. Would have been great to steal another couple of points though.
The difficult stuff for our team really starts now. Only time will tell if this one ends up well, mediocre or awful. All options are still very much open.

I'm guessing that's the closest we'll get to a stage win..
Also hilarious not to see Verwilst do something about his mountain jersey in a stage that actually suits him.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.
