Major blow to Krasts U25 ambitions here. That is always sad to see!
Zingle continue to rack up points, although minor today. Given the starting lineup 8th is even a good result for him, so can Only be happy about that.

Don't think it's that major of a blow in the grand scheme of things. Seems the game is gonna shuffle everyone in the 75-78 mtn range in and out of the grupetto anyway, so a few minutes here or there probably won't be the deciding factor. Not that it doesn't suck to see as the manager.

I think its still major blow to take over the youth jersey on the first mountain stages. By the end of the race, the luck might have evened out but there are more points in wearing the jersey than winning the jersey and that just grew a lot more unlikely to happen any time soon.

Kooij trying to get into the mix, but it's hard to come from the back of the trains when you are a couple of levels behind the top sprinters.
Crazy how Zingle perfectly timed the place and the moment to go for it in the second stage. Good to see Van Poppel getting a podium as well.

This was always going to be a difficult stage with our setup, so to see Zingle all the Way Down to 20th isn’t that Big of a surprise. Unfortunate of course, as we would have loved to see him get a few more points before we are out of his comfort zone.
I have a feeling a lot of our riders were on the wrong side of the split, so really happy no time gaps were awarded here.

Getting closer to that stage win, but not there yet. The mountain jersey is a nice bonus so far.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Well, hope this means Olivier is some kind of major podium contender if he's important enough that we don't try getting in the breakaway with all the great breakaway riders we brought!
Fouche already losing time might end up being a boon if he does end up going into mountain breakaways from the start though.

Crazy how Van Poppel is in the mix in a GT consistently but is still yet to fully make his mark in PCT races. Gives me hope for his backloaded schedule. Congrats to Ryan on the dub! Thanks for the report

Nice to see Van Poppel having such a good Giro. Too bad he's not doing it when it matters for you, wj.

Tbf he's only had three races before the Giro, he's not fully done just yet

Stage 5 looks interesting for us. Could be a Nikias Arndt finish perhaps?

That was all three early golden opportunities gone out the window. Unfortunate for Groenewegen and us, but feels similar to his GT last season.
It would be cool to see us join breakaway fun on these on paper easier hilly stages, as we have on paper a couple of brilliant breakaway riders in Kragh and Konychev, as long as their backup stats get taken advantage of. Fingers crossed we can be creative on the stages to come! |

Thank you for the great reports at a quick pace so far, kb
Would have expected the biggest sprint favourites to have done better when looking at pcm24 sprint ai so far, hope guys like Gaviria and Groenewegen can make their managers cheer as well.
Obviously happy with the Halvorsen stage win. Giro can't go wrong anymore. Still fairly certain we'll relegate, kb

Kemboi cashing in like we hoped, was worried after the first sprint stage when we whiffed completely but things have been much better since and we now sit in the Maglia Rosa for at least a day. Maybe it will be over by tomorrow but it's still great to see and there are still a few more chances for the sprinters (and Kemboi) to grab more successes...
