Really some mano y mano stuff on the harder parts! Very interesting to follow.
I suspect the gaps are so small that some of the riders will regroup for a larger sprint. Can Only hope Altur will be ahead of such a group to fight for a podium. Otherwise it could just as well be around 10th in the end.

Van den Berg (the stronger one) playing an important role for Gerts so far. Hopefully he can get a decent place for himself as well. And of course hoping Gerts can hang on for a podium place.
This would be a much deserved win for Pedersen!

Per doesn't seem to be on the best day and may have burned a couple of matches too early. 6th on the road. Need to reel in a few guys ahead to get that goal!

Finally caught up with the race after being away the whole day.
Very cool race! Absolute mayhem the last cobbled sectors, and seeing the gaps created and many riders on their own at the front, it feels like this should be secured for Pedersen, probably landing a solo win. At least it looks like everyone is spent, and then I struggle to see how he and other riders near the front should be caught.
Must admit I'm disappointed in what has been seen by Anderberg so far. Feels similar to E3, really, probably being on a bad day and not having his usual aggressiveness nor power. At this rate, even our top 10 goal could be in danger
Thank you for the reporting so far, Heine! |

Great report Heine thanks for that!
Congrats to tasta on a great win for Pedersen, monstrous performance from him. A shame for alex that Gerts was caught.
Very lovely to see Kaspakiewicz actually mix it well again. It does seem like once the cobbles are actually tough he's right in the mix.

Looks like Sotd was right and things came back together as all of the cracked guys pulled up and reassembled. Obviously very happy with that result as it means we had a chance to sprint from the small group and snag 3rd. Another goal accomplished! So close to 2nd, but it the end, 1st and 3rd in the two cobbled monunents are terrific results, and there's just no way to complain about a Roubaix podium.
Congrats to Grieg and thanks for the very fun reports Heine! So good I couldn't resist following from my phone at work.

Very enjoyable report to read! Also really good to see Pedersen win again.
About my team ... any pointers for how to rebuild in the PCT?

Such a shame Gerts couldn't hang on for second there. Van den Berg and Meeus getting good results kind of makes up for it, but the additional 100 points would should have helped in our quest to keep the lead in the team rankings for another month.
Congrats to Grieg and thanks for the report, Heine! The site could not have picked a worst day to act up.

Congrats to tasta on the win. It's good to see Pederson achieving as expected. The race was fun to follow throughout the day, definitely had me checking in. Would have loved to see Jacob crack top 10 but 13th isnt too bad. Overall I think our classics season has been a success.

Obviously a dissapointing final part, as things merged as predicted. Would have been a massive result to get a top 5 here.
Still can’t be too unhappy with the combined results of the monuments. Putting MSR in the pool aswell, we have top 10 in all three which is definately better than anticipated Per-season.
Kortsidakis much better here, while Stavrakakis and Boutopoulos also adding a bit of depth.

Congrats tasta and thanks to Heine for an entertaining report of the race, enjoyed it even if this was no doubt the lowest point of an incredibly disappointing cobbles campaign. Really don't know what is up to not just make Vermeersch the worst of the leaders but actually performing far far below that here as well.

Great to see poeple enjoyed the report, I've had a lot of fun with the races I've been reporting. Will most likely try to do something like this again, and hopefully not crash the site when doing it

That 2nd place from Siric feels like one of the most undeserving results I can remember. Fair enough he finally made use of his sprinting ability, but being in the situation to do it seems like a lot of luck as he was always trailing the race.
I can't complain with the shit ton of points from this results, although I'd probably take a few less points by finishing 3rd here and 10th at RVV. At least 1/5 goals are secured and maybe the points end up crucial at the end. I'm confused though, because there was a clear 2 year sample of RVV being the much better race for Siric and now it's flipped. Can't tell if it's random RNG or it's actually flipped.
Congrats to Grieg on the win and thanks to Heine for an extensive report.

Not good enough by Ovsya, he needs to improve in the remaining classics. On the other hand, im completely satisfied by Neilands' performance. Getting into the top 20 is a good performance for him.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

We tried to be in the break with Ruiz and Malacarne, so that's nice. A shame Ulloa couldn't do a little bit better, but in the end it doesn't make too big a difference. Thank you very much fo(u)r the great reporting, Heine

Not this year, clearly! We go again next year
Enjoyed the report a lot. Thank you, Heine! And another cobblestone for tastasol, congratulations! Must say I was surprised to see it come together, which probably made the final sprint for second place a thing more of luck than power and abilities. |

Pretty awesome race here with all those early and consistent attacks. In the end the best rider won with Gerts paying for his will to follow.
Van Hooydonck 6th is nice effort and all I can ask for. Even landing in the middle of the sprint despite his awful stats for group finishes.
Adding 20th and 23rd for Van der Hoorn and Robeet despite lots of working tasks is a nice bonus. Something I always hope for but barely get depth wise on the cobbles.
Successful race here for the team. |
