GP Herning
Today the CT peloton is in Denmark for the GP Herning in its second year at the C2 level. It is 188k with a steady diet of cobbles.
The race goes all the way back to 2008, although it took a few years off in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Last year’s winner was Moulingui for Trans. But the biggest winner here is Geraint Thomas who won the inaugural edition and three in a row from 2016 to 2018. He is long retired but those last 3 wins were all for Podium Ambition. And they are back and feature the best pure cobbler in the race in Richardson. While he is the best cobbler he is probably not the best all-around rider, that honor goes to C2 specialist Teggart who leads the PCT invasion along with ’22 GP Herning winner Chatarunga and Monk. Other strong CT candidates include Insausti and Van Lerberghe.
But the winner is hard to predict with not that much to choose between the top 15 or so riders. With the evenly matched field team depth could play a key role and Lotto, EKOI, Simba and Podium Ambition all feature multiple top contenders.
| Rider | FL | RS | ST | CO | SP | AC | Richardson | 71 | 68 | 68 | 78 | 60 | 61 | Chatarunga | 71 | 70 | 77 | 76 | 69 | 66 | Teggart | 73 | 73 | 76 | 76 | 72 | 70 | Monk | 74 | 70 | 76 | 76 | 61 | 70 | Insausti | 69 | 72 | 75 | 76 | 56 | 65 | Van Lerberghe | 73 | 72 | 73 | 76 | 74 | 71 | Sanogo | 73 | 72 | 71 | 76 | 69 | 70 | Boros | 72 | 67 | 71 | 76 | 63 | 64 | Yechezkel | 74 | 72 | 71 | 76 | 64 | 73 | Mestric | 73 | 70 | 69 | 76 | 55 | 65 | Manamalage | 80 | 62 | 69 | 76 | 56 | 54 | De Witte | 74 | 72 | 75 | 75 | 71 | 69 | Ariesen | 75 | 73 | 74 | 75 | 70 | 71 | Scotson | 72 | 70 | 73 | 75 | 66 | 75 | Roosen | 74 | 73 | 71 | 75 | 66 | 71 | Campbell | 74 | 68 | 69 | 75 | 68 | 73 |
135 riders from 17 teams take to the start, over half of both counts coming from the PCT.

Darbynyan would have been a clear favorite here, with his sprint and the team behind him.
Sadly if the team's here, the leader isn't.
Maybe we'll improve on the other results...
Thanks for the preview, good luck to those who planned correctly

Thanks for the preview, Ulrich! You're probably right that this could be anyone's race out of 15 riders, so let's hope Mestric or Roosen will come out on top of the lottery again. You could probably copy and paste the preview as well as the reactions to all C2 races of the month though

Another opportunity for Monk but don't want to have too high hopes as he's been a little disappointing so far.
Thank you for the preview

Interesting little race this not one for us but is probably the CT version of Paris-Roubaix hopefully, we get a comparable race and some excitement
Spoiler FYI Basso was terrible here which probably helps you guess what the most important stat is |

Thank you Ulrich, this should be a fun race to watch, we don't have the biggest favourites, but I think we could compete for some minor points.
Good luck everybody |

We won the last C2 race so you can say we're on form.

Well done from Manamalange, but to be honest I don't care about that. Bert in 2nd! Fantastic result! And even better when noone else from CT was in the top 10!
Couldn't have gone better

Perhaps a bit "lucky" with the puncture for Richardson. Nevertheless, a great race from the entire team, and a lovely win by Manamalage!

This might be the only race of the season where Manamalage gets to ride as captain. At least the parcours suit him well.
Thanks for the report

Thanks UU for the report!
A way better race for us than Gent-Wevelgem. A shame to miss out on the podium though. Congrats to Caspi with the win!
