Copenhagen–Malmo Team Time Trial
For 18 seasons a TTT classic has been part of the PT calendar. For the first 5 seasons the Dutch city of Eindhoven was the host, but after that the crossing of the Oeresund strait became the venue of the TTT PT classic. The Copenhagen - Malmö TTT is now welcoming the best TT riders for a 13th time. The course is the same as it was 13 years ago - starting from the Danish capital of Copenhagen then riding 59 km through the Oeresund bridge, connecting Denmark and Sweden, to finish on the other side of the strait in Malmö, Sweden. EA Vesuvio knows the taste of victory in this race all too well and last year was no exception as they defended their crown and want to keep it in their possession for another year. But they will have a stiff competition from other teams eager to usurp the throne of TTT kings. But which team is the strongest?
| Team | Riders | Full Train | Top 5 | Top 3 | | EA Vesuvio | 8 | 79 | 80 | 81 | | Polar | 8 | 78 | 79 | 80 | | King Power | 8 | 77 | 78 | 79 | | Tinkoff Team - La Datcha | 8 | 77 | 78 | 79 | | ELCO - ABEA | 8 | 77 | 77 | 78 | | Sony - Force India | 8 | 76 | 77 | 79 | | Los Pollos Hermanos | 8 | 76 | 77 | 79 | | Fastned | 8 | 76 | 77 | 78 | | Jura GIANTS | 8 | 76 | 77 | 77 | | Minions | 8 | 75 | 76 | 78 | | Cedevita | 8 | 75 | 76 | 77 | | Team Puma - SAP | 8 | 75 | 76 | 77 | | Team UBS | 8 | 75 | 76 | 77 | | Evonik - ELKO | 8 | 74 | 76 | 78 | | Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo PCTeam | 8 | 73 | 77 | 77 | | cycleYorkshire | 8 | 73 | 76 | 78 | | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 8 | 73 | 75 | 76 | | Indosat Ooredoo | 8 | 73 | 75 | 76 | | Gazelle | 8 | 72 | 74 | 74 | | Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team | 8 | 70 | 75 | 78 | | Xero Racing | 7 | 70 | 72 | 76 | | Rabobank | 8 | 67 | 71 | 74 | | Grieg-Maersk | 8 | 67 | 70 | 72 | | Aker - MOT | 8 | 64 | 66 | 68 |
On face value it seems that EA Vesuvio have built their train with the sole purpose to defend their crown once again. And to ensure that no one can unseat them, they've enlisted the help of two of the strongest TT riders this season in Tom Wirtgen and Mads Würtz. And their squad all-around is good enough to see off challenges from anyone. Polar seems to be the closest challenger with all-rounder Egan Bernal at the helm. Sony - Force India acquired the services of former Los Pollos Hermanos rider Marlen Zmorka to be their main engine, but they lack depth compared to other teams such as Polar, Tinkoff, King Power or ELCO, which could be the difference when it comes to the podium. King Power have 2 80 TT riders in Ganna and Mano with the hope for at least a podium. Carlsberg - Danske Bank have 79 TT Mathias Norsgaard, but nothing much else, which seriously drops their chances of good finish. Gjensidige Pro Cycling Team are in the same boat with 79 TT Knotten and Van Moer, but weak squad elsewhere. Tinkoff Team - La Datcha on the other hand have 3 79 TT riders - Razumov, Zakarin and Goldstein, which seems good for podium, but doubt it will be enough for a win. Veteran stage racer Taylor Phinney has been enlisted by Fastned in their campaign for the podium. ELCO - ABEA have sent the best TT riders from Greece, while teams like Cedevita, Minions and Jura GIANTS will also hope for a decent finish
And here's the startlist - tune in tomorrow when Imladrik will provide you with coverage from the 13th Copenhagen - Malmö TTT

This must be our most popular wildcard, think this is our fifth time here (including our 1 PT year)? Could have brought a stronger squad but had to sacrifice a bit for the XP of the unmaxed time trial talents, so we're not expecting to set the world alight.
EDIT: looked it up, sixth time here and fifth consecutive participation (of which four are wildcards). We sure love this race.

Our strong TTT days are far in the past. We're in anonymous backmarker territory now.
Some teams are incredibly stacked.

We did ok in Tirreno TTT, no Oomen here though.
I did bring Suter and Biermans as FL beasts, but I don't know if that has an influence in TTT.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Hoping we can challenge for the Top 5. If we finish in the 5th to 7th placings, I think that'll be fair and also satisfactory.
Thanks for the preview

Kind of weird being here without podium ambitions (™️), but there's a new time for everything. Should be a win for EA, but even with Wirtgen and Würtz, Polar could challenge them here.

A top 5 here would be nice. I’m not entirely it’s realistic though, despite being 5th in the preview. After a hopeless Tirreno we could use a positive again though.
Everything but a win for Vesuvio would be a huge upset of course.

Vesuvio should win comfortably but behind that everything is possible. I hope we do better than at the recent TTT in T-A.

Gotta say, i was more looking forward to this race when i could expect to get roasted in the report. Now, i still dont like the race and expect to be completely average. How boring.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Usually a zero pointer here in our "home" race. Just not exciting for me to invest in a TTT team. Expect a zero pointer, but hey, maybe a 5 pointer this time.

Slightly dissapointing when targeting top 5, but not bad.
But are we 6th or 7th? Can’t really tell from the rankings, as the first say 7th, but the one with all riders listed we are 6th.

Solidly mid table, XP gained and a shot of the team on the bridge to use in the HQ. All boxes checked. Congrats SN!

This might have been my best TTT performance ever. 4th is a bit above expectations but nice to see my spent money in some TT riders in the end paid out with some scoring.
Thanks for the report! |

Disappointing result in the end. Definitively at least two spots lower than our lower limit of satisfaction. Hopefully this is a one-off for the TTT squad or maybe the RDC wasn't the best for us.
Congrats to Vesuvio and thanks for the report!

No top 10 by less than a second stings a bit. I guess FL doesn't matter in TTT anymore.

Did FL ever matter in TTTs? Or in TTs?
We got what we came for, I guess We must surely be the worst PT team for TTTs the last three seasons? Suspect we won’t do anything to change it anytime soon. |

I'm like 80% sure it once did. Back in the days where we had a TTT WC and guys like Boonen and Terpstra who were not particularly great TTist but could ride very hard.

Sadly, you can't trust the individual results in this version. The team results are the correct ones, and they have you in 7th, just like the in-game results.
And yes, the individual results can be wrong to the extent that a team that actually finished on the podium will have the riders listed in last place - Cya completely messed them up. GC and team results however are correct - it just means that TTT processing cannot really be automated anymore...
