[PT/PCT] 2025 Band Selections

It’s band selection time. CT teams you can ignore this, everybody else pay attention.
A couple of changes this year. (1) PTHC and HC selection will be combined, (2) it will be done via a web form and (3) PTHC prioritization will be a little different.
Timeline
All times refer to the site time. The response window opens at noon on Sunday, July 27th. Responses received before then will be ignored. After that exact time of response will not matter if you respond before midnight on July 28th. Responses after that will be prioritized based on response time. Responses received after midnight on August 2nd are late and may be ignored and instead bands assigned to balance participation. Recapping:

Deadline for top priority in PTHC: Midnight, July 28th
Deadline for submission: Midnight, August 2nd
HC Bands:
Since there are 24 slots and 24 PCT teams everyone is guaranteed to get their choices. Therefore, in the survey you will be asked to enter the band you DO NOT want. PT teams will enter zero.
Each band has 9 or 10 race days for a total of 66, so each PCT team will end up with 56 or 57 race days.
PTHC Bands:
22 PT teams. 24 PCT teams. 6 PTHC Bands, 3 Bands of 14rd each which is 42rd in PTHC for all teams.
It's quite unlikely that all teams will get their Top 3 bands, although most will get their top 2. If a choice is over-subscribed, then a mix of factors will come into play including response time (all responses in the top priority window are considered equal), your answer to question 5 below, and other factors.
If you have already considered goals, make sure to put the PTHC goal into the top1 priority, ideally, or top2 to make sure you will be able to participate. No goal changes are allowed afterwards and there is also the possibility of the OR goal.

The first spoiler below has a link to the web form. It is pretty self-explanatory but here is quick intro:
Q1: Team Name, is just in case something goes wrong with Q2
Q2: Team Number see second spoiler below for your team number
Q3: HC Band you DO NOT want (PT teams enter 0)
Q4: PTHC Band ranks, please be careful to list each band only once
Q5: Asks how important it is to you to get your 3rd choice versus your 4th. This will help us prioritize over-subscribed bands. If you get your preference this year because you answer “important” you will be put at the bottom of the list on this question next year. So don’t use that option lightly.

Due to the site downtime we are extending the band selection to midnight, site time on Wednesday August 6th
Because the downtime came in the middle of the priority window if we extend the priority window there might be an advantage to those who were active on discord (where this has been discussed). So there will be no priority window. Everyone who meets the deadline will be equal with the exception below.
Generally a lot of people have said band 3 vs 4 isn't important in their response so we am optimistic that will be deterministic. If it isn't, people who submitted before the last 24 hours will be favored in resolving over-subscriptions. |

One PCT manager has not submitted, he will slot into the available bands when he weighs in, everyone else below is confirmed.
Team lists are in the next two posts. In PTHC teams are sorted by division,
HC Bands: No bands are full, even with one manager still to select, so all races are available to CT managers on at least a limited basis. Bands 3, 4 and 6 all at 22 teams, are the most popular. Band 1 and 5 with 16 and 17 the least popular and with the most slots for CT teams.
PTHC Bands: Band 1 was the most popular first choice but the least popular overall. You either really want to be in the Chrono d’Arenberg or you really don’t. Band 6 was the most popular band with second most first choices and the most overall, tied with band 4.
Selections were pretty even with just one manager not getting their first 3 choices (sorry Bikex). The missing manager will be limited to bands 1 to 3 and 5 as 4 and 6 are full.
PT Mangers: PT mangers now know their calendar. You can populate Part 1 of the planner file released here and work on your planning whenever you wish. However, please confirm the values in Step 7 of Part 1 of the planner match those for your team in the spoiler below. Planners will be due shortly after transfers finish

Thanks for putting this together! Already kind of regretting my choices. Still feels crazy to be missing both of the Rheden/Battenkill split, but neither is a good band for us otherwise, and we had to lose a cobbles raceday to swap in anyway. Rheden wide open now with both Per and Pedersen missing.

LLS has chosen Bands 2, 3 and 5 for PCT. He is sitting out of Band 1 for HC. Tables above are updated. There is still at least 1 slot in every HC race for CT. |
