Disappointing TTT, don't know how our depth in TTing really stacks up in this race but a bottom half performance really damages our shot of getting a top 10 here I feel. I really thought that we could have done better.
Wirtgen really seem to be the guy to beat now

Guess 6th is about what we could expect looking at the TTT strength. Szarka dropped early on, the others staying together - at least that aspect of TTTs works like planned. Would be nice to get some insights on how PCM24 works, though ^^
It's all set up now for Brunel and Küng, they "just" have to hang on for as long as they can. But with so many stronger TTers (and capable climbers/puncheurs) in the race, not sure they will actually care... They better do, otherwise it might easily turn into a pointless race for us.
EA with the expected win, congrats.
Thanks for the report.

One non selective hilly stage a day keeps the headaches away!
Congratulations to UBS, thank you for a nice report, Abhishek!

Another solid stage by Würtz. Expecting a bit tougher work tomorrow. Also interesting to see if it will be more open, now that EA/Wirtgen isn't in the lead. Nice win for Schir, congrats Bushwackers

Really need some gaps to avoid another no-pointer.

Decent stage by Powless. Hope he can make up some time in the next stage before dropping the hammer in the TT to get into the points. Grats to the winner and thanks for the report.

Our best rider being in 49th position definitely isn't good news. In particular Darbellay is not caring at all once again, in particular given that similar riders (high Mo, low Hi) finished in the Top 20...
Hoping for at least some breakaway appearances, or otherwise for the TTers to hang on, otherwise it will be a very, very ugly zero-pointer.
Congrats to Bushwackers for a great win here, thanks for the report.

Shame Quintana was just not strong enough to follow the brea in the end, could have been a good stage result for him.

We got the gaps we were hoping for. Kiriakidis was very dissapointing though. He should have been much closer to the front - ideally he and Spanopoulos would have changed but Spanopoulos was always going to be our strongest rider in a stage like this.
Unfortunately Ioannidis won't go up in the GC, but rather down. Maybe he can cling on to top 15, but we really need him to have a good ITT otherwise we will have the third consequtive race with significant underscoring compared to our expectations. That would drastically hinder our promotion aspiration.

Good to see gaps but going to be a battle for Conci who moves himself into the Top 10. I'm hoping he can climb up a couple spots but he's also got some very strong riders behind him. Let's see where we end up!

Geoghegan Hart waiting until his final race of the season to finally wake up and do something
We could've used those seconds we lost in the TTT and a bit of a larger gap, but the stage points are also nice. Should be a good result unless he completely botches the final TT.

Yes! So this is how a victory feels. I had almost forgotten it!
Perfect ride from McNulty and of course it's great that Herregoedts could deliver a good result as well. Mano and Fung unfortunately lost contact but in general we're in a decent position before the final TT that will shake up things for sure due to its length. I hope McNulty will have another good day with a few 78+ timetrialers not so far behind him. |

Shame Powless loses time here. Atleast he moves into the top 20 so there’s something to work with here. Hope he can get some time back on the next stage before getting the hammer down in the tt! Congrats to the winner and thanks for the report.

Ouch. Not far from the worst-case scenario. Once again I don't get it why Würtz makes the 2nd group and Küng - who shouldn't be worse - and Brunel as similar riders are far away. Really sucks to see AI just ignoring them.
Darbellay also as bad as ever, also losing out against several similar riders. And Setiawa not getting enough KoM points to at least get a few points from there also isn't great. Together with Szarka's miss on day 1, definitely a race to forget.
Congrats to McNulty on the stage win and to Wirtgen on what will be a dominant GC win in the end.
Thanks for the report.

The next stage IS the ITT though

Cattaneo just isn't cut for these kind of races. Luckily the planning blunder is not decisive for what division we'll be in next year (most likely)

A little pity to be just behind that final split, but all in all very happy with the performance from Würtz. Wirtgen should have this under total control, but with a 52k ITT a lot is still possible, maybe even the podium still. Fingers crossed that he have a bit left in his legs.
