Thought Grosu had timed his sprint better this time, but it looks like he can't find the perfect recipe in this race. Still, can't complain with another podium.
Good to see Cullaigh taking the win given all his struggles this year.

Great win by Cullaugh! Shame to see Enger missing out on the podium yet again.
Seems like he lacks a good sprint train here in Lithuania and that may cost us.
Hopefully we can step up on tomorrows time trial.
Thank you Abhi! |

Happy with those opening stages from Vermeersch showing himself in the sprints. Decent TTT, looked better at the check but still outperformed our 1 star in the preview. Not expecting top drawer Areruya given it's not a super hilly stage, but would love to see him try a rangy attack to go for the GC.

I hope for a chaotic stage with tons of large gaps for the final day.

Really pretty good stuff. TTT team took the turtle approach to a reasonable result and we didn't drop Narvaez. 25th isn't a great GC position but hopefully the TT depth riders ahead will drop away in the last stage. So if Narvaez can hold on then he should be in line for a decent GC result. Nice to see Hecht and Mohammad up with him, doubt they survive tomorrow's stage but maybe some GC depth is possible.
Thanks for the reports. Wirtgen should be a lock for back-to-back wins in this one.

What a difference between 2022 Ewan and 2024 Ewan in that TTT... He hasn't become a worse TTer, but the different handling by the game becomes pretty obvious here. Maybe ISA were just too strong for him this time, so he got dropped early - quite a shame he can't even try to repeat his 2022 upset win. But yeah, with that EA dominance, he'd have needed to win the hilly stage no matter the time loss in the TTT anyway.
Wirtgen is definitely a good pick - but when Gidich is just 6" before the hilly stage where he must be one of the big favourites, I personally won't consider him a lock yet. A Gidich win nets him the GC no matter what, and any Top 3 will do if Wirtgen doesn't get any bonus seconds, so I'm definitely hoping for a great fight on the final stage

Congrats to SN and ryan for the stage wins!
We had a decent TTT and APP is in range for a good GC result if the final stage is hard enough.

Glad to see Enger and Ackermann salvage something for us at that last stage, climbing some 30 places in GC.
Cool to hang out with the stars in PTHC, but now we're looking forward to returning to C1-action
Congrats to the winners and thanks once again Abhishkek!

Congrats to Bikex, what an insane result for you! This is one race we might look back at the end of the season as a potential title decider if you happen to go all the way!
Happy to see Polanc going for the KoM! This is what we needed to do far more often but im glad to finally see it!

I guess 14th is decent for Grosu, but a lot of things could have gone better for us.
If not for the split between the two front groups, Grosu could have been a few places higher in the GC. Or if he had one of the sprint stages. Or if we didn't have that awful TTT.
The TTT also ruining Remco's GC here. Could have been in the top 20 with a slightly better TTT or/and different splits in the final stage. Good to see Kron finishing with one of the front groups in the final stage, but unfortunately his GC was ruined since the first stage.
Thanks for the reports!

Just another zero pointer where we never tried to go for breaks, because, you know, our Pprd is already so immense.
Congrats on a dominant win, SN. Beautiful reports thoughout, thanks Abi!

Not quite our goal of 5th but happy with that, Narvaez hanging on to take 10th on GC with only a couple of PCT guys ahead of him and they are much bigger names. A little depth from Mohammad.
King Power benefitting much more than EA from the TTT depth, stronger climbers I think but also maybe having the GC leader and having to chase is a disadvantage from that point of view.
Congrats to SN and Bikex and thanks to Abhi for the reports.

Andrew Norbert, showing in a few places like Stage 1, he's got something to him as a rider. Cracking TTT for 5th on the day, marred by the disaster of dropping Mayer who's a not bad TT'er - oh well, didn't really matter in the end.

Happy enough with a stage win and 4th on GC from Areruya making this maybe not a planning misstep? Time will tell on that front but this is definitely the best result of the short stage races where he hunted stage wins.
Congrats SN and Bikex in particular for great results and whoever else is happy with their race. Thanks for the always-quality reports Abhi, and between this and posting the Giro reports keeping up an awesome pace over the last week

Madouas lost two minutes on a flat stage and wasted his 4rd, our TTT performance obviously can't be much to write home about with everyone supporting Herklotz in the Giro, and yet Kanter managed to save this race somewhat!
A good sprint and a bad one, and then for some reason he got the Steimle spirit in him for the queen stage and nearly stayed in contact with the stars for a great GC result.
It's sad that not having any gaps there would've meant P8 instead of P15, but I guess I'll take that, it's around where I would've expected Madouas pre-race expecting the TTT to be the decisive factor as it turned out to be.
Obvious Wirtgen race is obvious, congrats SN! And thanks Abhi.
Hey! Apologies for my absence!
Between being busy and basically constantly sick, I feel behind schedule to follow the early races live, and then my ADHD ass kicked in and faltered under that ever-growing backlog again.
I'm back for the Giro and hopefully everything after, and I want to reiterate I'm still very much committed to this game long-term if you want me around.
Happy New Year!
