 Mads Pedersen delivered strong performances across several prestigious races, securing second place at the Macskako Kerekparverseny and the Franceville Classique. He also finished second in the 2023 editions of the Ronde van Vlaanderen and third in Paris-Roubaix, demonstrating his consistency at the highest level.  Floris Gerts emerged victorious at the 2023 Paris-Roubaix, adding to his podium finishes at the Franceville Classique (3rd) and Macskako Kerekparverseny (8th). His other notable results include fifth at the 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen and sixth at the 2023 E3 Prijs.  David Per claimed victory at the Franceville Classique and the 2023 E3 Prijs. He also earned a commendable second-place finish at 2023 Paris-Roubaix and sixth at the 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen.  Arman Kamyshev performed solidly, placing ninth at the 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen and fourth at the 2023 E3 Prijs.
 Lukasz Wisniowski showcased his strength across the classics, winning third place at the 2023 Paris-Roubaix and second at the 2023 E3 Prijs. He also placed fourth at the 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen and 13th at the Macskako Kerekparverseny. Florian Senechal consistently placed within the top ten, with results such as tenth at the Macskako Kerekparverseny, fourth at the Franceville Classique, and tenth at the 2023 E3 Prijs.  Ivan Siric delivered a strong ninth-place finish at the Macskako Kerekparverseny and rounded out the top ten at the 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen.  Hampus Anderberg secured sixth place at the Macskako Kerekparverseny.  Polanc Jan had victories at the Macskako Kerekparverseny and the 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen. He also placed fifth at the 2023 E3 Prijs.
 Mike Teunissen achieved consistent results in 2023, finishing seventh at the Ronde van Vlaanderen, fifth at Paris-Roubaix, and eighth at the E3 Prijs.  Lukas Spengler delivered a strong fourth-place finish at the 2023 Paris-Roubaix.  Edward Theuns impressed with podium finishes at the Macskako Kerekparverseny (3rd), the Franceville Classique (7th), and the 2023 Ronde van Vlaanderen (3rd).  Marcos Altur displayed his versatility with a 5th place in Franceville Classique and seventh-place finishes at the Macskako Kerekparverseny and 2023 Paris-Roubaix. He also earned the same result at the 2023 E3 Prijs, reflecting his consistency.  Nathan Van Hooydonck is the dark horse for today.

Another cobbled classic where Polanc has often done fairly well in the past with two top 5 results in his last three participations. Most sectors are uphill so that is an advantage for him. I'm hoping for another top five.

We're here hoping for a top-25 by Ulloa again, but so far his maximum was just inside the top-50, so that scenario is most likely

Anderberg has been promising so far this season, hoping we can manage another top 8 or so here too. Between 5th and 8th seems to be his spot, at least strength-wise so far this season. |

Another opportunity for Siric to mix it up with the big boys. He was already decent here last year so I would be slightly disappointed if he didn't follow up on his good results so far.

Need the Franceville Per here and not the Strada/Macs one. That's really what it comes down to. He obviously won last year, and we've had a lot of success here in the past with Trentin's win too. Hopefully we get some favorable AI strategy.

Looks like another good profile for Theuns, and his 3rd place two years ago kind of confirms that. At least for his maxed self, that is ^^
However, Macskako showed that he can still compete with the best on a great day, and I hope that all these hills will favour him against the pure cobblers. And yeah, you'll see pretty much the same text in the RVV discussion thread I guess

Feared that Pedersen was wasting his energy, then thought he had it in the bag with 4k left. But he did indeed run out of legs. A pity, considering he probably would have at least got a place on the podium if he had saved himself for the sprint. But oh well, I prefer to see our riders attacking and creating a selective race. Just not our luck this time. Congrats to bbl on another good win for Per.

Okay, so as usual we get another result to prove I overreacted to the first two classics. Per (along with Wisniowski and Gerts) obviously showed up alert and ready to go this time around. The team didn't waste time efforts in the break or anything, and he stayed near the front. To be honest, I'm surprised he was able to hold on. He attacked first, was in the wind responding to Polanc, and then launched his sprint pretty early. But I guess I should never underestimate his engine when he's on a good day. Meanwhile, Pedersen had a frustrating day. Guess everyone gets a turn, commiserations to Grieg.
Amazing to defend the title! It really does feel like E3 is our race now, having won it 3 of the last 4 years with different riders. Points wise, another win was basically necessary and obviously a big score for us. Wish Meiler was doing better depth wise, but when you win the race, you can't worry about a few down-ballot races. We got a tremendous result.

Theuns proving once again that he still has the legs in these hilly races, 5th is another fantastic result for him!
Sending Küng up front was the perfect strategy again, so Eddie didn't need to worry about chasing work - at least not until the break was caught. Paprstka also had a great day, staying with Theuns for quite a long time, then finishing 20th - a very strong result.
In the end, I thought Theuns might even fight for the win if the others ahead of him should fade - but he didn't really have much left himself. Looking at the names ahead of him - and some behind him - 5th is still a great result, and definitely more than the Top 10 we were hoping for. Now let's hope he can also handle the monuments well, as MSR pretty much was a disaster - hopes are a bit higher than 17th for RvV now!
Congrats to Carlsberg, Per definitely has found his legs now!

Looks like Polanc took his successes from earlier races too much to his heart and was leading the chase far too often. Seems like he was leading the first chasing group in every second pic. Not the ideal path to success for him and he paid for it with a result that is worse than he can be. Attacking on flat roads might not be ideal for his skillset either...

Another top 10 from Anderberg is good. This one was rather anonymous, though, which meant I hoped for even more approaching the sprint. But great to have him up there and in contention. Can't ask for more, really, seeing the opposition.
