Congratulations, cio, on the stage win. Sprints seem to be the thing of Puma, at least so far this season. Having Peak dropped and then see him cross the finish line at the very back of the peloton, wasn't ideal Pfft

Nice surprise to see Kragh hold the jersey for another day, though. We take that as a bonus Grin

Thank you for the report, UU!

The very rare case where i'm satisfied with our attempts to get into the break. Unfortunately, this was a stage without a good likelyhood of succeeding and with no KoM points available so stage 4 is the more crucial one but at least we tried well.

Sureda was just as fast as everyone else in that sprint finish but lacked the positioning. Would be nice to roll the lucky dice at some point... Pfft
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

If Van Poppel can't crack a top 10 in his favorite race, then this is not going to be a good season for him. Still one chance left in the final stage.

Nice to see Sanikwathi mixing with the sprint, unfortunately he just missed the top 10.

Sigh... Another really awful sprint by Groves. He just can't get his positioning right, with Nederland being the big exception so far.
However, I wonder what's wrong with these sprints if Steimle repeatedly beats all the 80+ sprinters, just looks random to me... Congrats to cio nonetheless, seems like you got the lucky sprinter of the year Wink

At least there was no split in the end; with all of our riders except for Groves being in the second half of the pack, I guess that would've been the end to any kind of GC hopes ^^ Vernon wearing white for another day is cool, although it obviously doesn't really make up for Chavanne's and Groves' failures points-wise.

Thanks for the report.

That's annoying for Wirtgen and Vesuvio Shock Looks to have been the maximum unlucky with the conditions.

Congratulations to Grieg and tastasol, though. That's a very commanding win by Würtz, and they're also putting a couple of other riders into the top 50. If no drama on the final stage, this is a huge race for them.

We finally got some good luck in a TT. Now I seriously hope we don't throw it away on the final stage.

Wow, what a win for Würtz. Probably a bit lucky to start early after an anonymous prologue, but still a great ride by him. Just have to hold on now!

Thanks for the report, UU!

Thank you for the great reports again, Ulrich.

Most important for us on S2 was not losing time with classic gaps, luckily we didn't. Hopefully the same for S4 for us, and everyone.

Bad luck for Wirtgen but always nice to see Grieg do well. Congratulations, tastasol. Zmorka also with an amazing ride for second place. Sütterlin's currenth ninth in GC decent, but nothing spectacular. Most of all a great ride from Vlatos in twelfth in the final time he is really able to 'shine' in the race, making his current and perhaps former manager proud of him again. So far he's definitely worth the money we paid for him in FA. Some more top-30's and 50's by youngsters and new additions to make this a potential 500+ points race for us, so that's obviously good in a month where we maximum score 5 points per rider in all other cobbled races. Would have been great to see Ocampo beat Vernon for white, but the difference between the two was rather clear, so nothing to be done about that.

So yeah, hoping for no riders to lose time with some stupid gap tomorrow, and would also be nice if Zmorka could hold on to green, so if the actual top sprinters actually sprinted top-style, that would help us Smile

Weird TT result again, after we already saw some odd performances in Tasmania already. Guess with the daily form limitation, weather conditions play an even more crucial role than they previously did.
Of course, having Würtz and Zmorka in 1-2 isn't a sensation, but Wirtgen barely making the Top 10 is weird (and not something I want to see tbh). Fortunately for EA, Tanfield partly makes up for that failure. And it's definitely a nice result for Cedevita, getting a rather unexpected podium (from my PoV) with Lammertink.

It looks like my riders were mostly really favoured by the conditions. Definitely not Küng, who even misses out on the Top 50 (starting too late ^^), but all of Vernon, Brunel, Bissegger and Rekita. In particular Vernon holding onto white is a pretty big surprise to me, gapping all the 78 TTers by quite a margin.
Now, it's all about good positioning tomorrow - as it stands now, it'd be an amazing race for us after all, but we need to be attentive to bring this great depth result home. And why not Groves getting a bunch sprint podium on a flat stage for once?

Congrats to Grieg, and thanks for the report to Ulrich.

I had hoped to see Morne 5-6 places higher up but this will hardly make or break our season. This race was always about hopefully getting sth out of breaks in the first place and the final stage is the one where it counts.

Congrats on the reverse jinx! Pfft

AKA disappointing a bit there to finish 7th and 8th in the sprint stage. Sprint lottery not on our side this time.

Luckily Sulvaran salvaged the race a bit for us by pulling out the KOM for us. Definitely the type of aggressive ride I love to see from his rider type. Considering we came here with no GC threat whatsoever, this was kind of the best we could hope for without AKA showing up. Thanks for following that competition so closely Ulrich!

Congrats to Grieg!

Got a bit worried there. We didn't have the strongest team here for the hilly part, so I started to fear that they would blow totally and that the peloton would stop completely. But the guys did a good job, kept it fairly close and then the sprinters saw their chance. Lost a couple of top 50 guys, but securing the win was always the important bit, so really happy with the determination from the guys.

Congrats to Jura on the stage win!

Awful race for us. Nothing in the springs. Nothing in the CG.

Honestly at a loss for words with Manninen. Was he a GC rider here? We even went in the breakaway today so clearly the game had no designs on him competing in the sprint. If our season sinks because the most consistent sprinter in the last five seasons has gone off a cliff I don't know what I'll do with myself.

Ganna did well enough here, pretty par for the course. Glad he delivered that at least here and in Ukraine after the unfortunate start to the season in Tasmania.

Thanks for the reports and congrats everyone who got something from this race Smile

Very good positioning and sprint by Peak, even when launching early compared to the others who fought for the stage win. Happy with that stage result. Combined with Kragh's prologue, we got more than we hoped for here. In the big picture, it won't make many points, but Peak's 2nd place here and Veyhe's 5th in the KoM standings still makes for 30 points more than what we expected Smile
