Let's give some love to the downhill attribute
Would love to see some finish after a longer downhill section, a bit flat at the end doesnt hurt as long it isnt too much and the spectatcular downhill ride of a rider pays off.

I miss the "small/medium climbing finish" option.
It seems to me that from the previous vote, we want a hybryd mountain/hill track, so there's more than 3 potential race winners. So while there defnitely has to be a mountain on the track and we should probably finish while climbing, I don't think we should go all the way to the top.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Herklotz likely wins all three

Admins know what they have to do (lock cio out of his account until nominations close)

Examples of profile I would love to see for this WC
(long, multiple outcomes, but still enough in favour of climbers):
Stage 6 Critérium du Dauphiné 2019 (229km)
Stage 5 Giro d'Italia 2020 (225km)

Yeah, i would love a "medium mountain" option, akin to a classic GT mid-week mountain day with 2 C1/HC climbs then a C2 to short finish.
Or like a day through the massif central with a range of C3/C2 climbs and a finish up to Mende.
But transposed to whereever we host the worlds (which i do think should be France/Spain/Italy anyway, so plenty of premade options to edit)

Do cio and knockout have multiple accounts? The MTF option has 4 votes too many at the moment

I went DH finish and that works with a small group. My concern is with a large group the guy on the front always wins. So I think you would want 2k or so after the DH finishes, just to mix it up. If it a small group good DH still helps.

I would like to see 2-3 big mountains with a 2-3k flat after a long downhill. Like this:

IMO we should mirror image all the suggestions so far, to get a more open and interesting race. Right now we have 3 different scenarios of Herklotz vs. Lecuisinier for WC, and then 10 riders or so battling for the final medal, with it likely being Kudus, Dombrowski or Morton.
I can't see any rider with less than 84MO being a contender for the win, and no riders below 82MO a contender for the top 10. I think it's sad that a WC should be that narrow. Even the sprint parcours in the past had some sort of option for jumping and making a flat beast relevant.
I'm a bit sad that we went from HI to MO on the final day by 1 vote. Being that close we should probably consider a mix between the two, so riders like MAL, Kwiatkowski etc. have an actual shot at the title also.

The only way id vote for that option is if we would get a Badaling like route. Basically medium mountains with a hill top finish. But since that is unlikely to be meant by that, i have to prefer one of the other options.
I voted for mountains in the first poll on impulse when seeing the past routes forgetting that the cobbled mountains one was actually fairly standard mountain results. If pcmdaily would allow to change votes later, i would have switched my vote to a hilly route later after reading the discussion.
For me a mountainous route WC should usually be sth similar to Rio 2016 / Lombardia esque. Basically medium mountains without a big top finish.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

If the 2022 voting for the route type was close, we've just witnessed an even closer battle this time!
Mountain Top Finish (MTF) | 24% | [8 Votes] | Downhill Finish | 35% | [12 Votes] | Flat Finish | 41% | [14 Votes] |
The 2023 World Championships will be held in the following profile type: Mountains with a Flat Finish. Stay tuned for the final profile vote.
Thank you to everyone who voted.
Would request managers to post any profile of their choice of the above type, if they feel it is suitable to have the WCs. We will definitely consider them while finalizing the options.

Thanks for doing these. I think Greece has a little too much climbing and will be super selective which I think people wanted to avoid. So I like Austria. Did you look at Spain? The mangame has never had a WC in Spain and it seems like a miss to me.

My test (daily database 2021) shows that this race is best, for those that are looking for a group finish. Guess its due to the fact that the climbs are quite gentle. (no idea how it will play out with MG database), that said, Austria does also end in a group finish in most of my tests.
