The Copenhagen-Malmo TTT has featured on the man game calendar every year since 2012, making this its 12th edition. Prior to that it was contested in Eindhoven. Counting the Eindhoven races there have been 3 occasions where a team have won back-to-back editions: Jack Wolfskin in 2011 and 2012, Oz Cycling Project in 2014 and 2015 and EA Vesuvio in 2021 and 2022. On neither of the prior occasions could the team pull off the three-peat, so EA can set a new record with a win this year.
EA is joined on the startlist by 23 other teams, all the PT suspects plus two adventurous PCT teams. Squad strengths look like this:
| Team | All | Top 5 | Top 3 | | EA Vesuvio | 78.4 | 79.2 | 80.0 | | Cedevita | 77.9 | 78.8 | 79.3 | | Tinkoff - La Datcha Team | 77.6 | 79.0 | 79.3 | | Grieg-Maersk | 77.1 | 77.8 | 79.0 | | Polar | 76.9 | 78.6 | 79.7 | | Jura GIANTS | 75.9 | 77.8 | 78.3 | | Team Puma - SAP | 75.8 | 76.6 | 77.3 | | ZARA - Irizar | 75.5 | 77.0 | 78.0 | | cycleYorkshire | 75.3 | 77.8 | 78.3 | | ELCO - ABEA | 75.3 | 77.2 | 78.3 | | King Power | 74.8 | 77.0 | 78.0 | | Minions | 74.3 | 76.8 | 78.0 | | ISA - Hexacta | 74.0 | 75.2 | 76.0 | | Amaysim Australia.com | 72.4 | 76.2 | 78.0 | | Evonik - ELKO | 71.6 | 72.8 | 74.3 | | Moser - Sygic | 71.5 | 74.8 | 77.7 | | Binance | 71.4 | 72.8 | 73.7 | | Rabobank | 69.6 | 72.4 | 75.0 | | Lidl Cycling | 68.3 | 71.2 | 74.0 | | MOL Cycling Team | 68.0 | 70.6 | 71.7 | | Team Popo4Ever p/b Morshynska | 67.5 | 71.8 | 74.7 | | Gazelle | 67.1 | 71.2 | 73.0 | | Carlsberg - Danske Bank | 65.4 | 68.0 | 70.7 | | Aker - MOT | 64.4 | 66.8 | 68.3 |
EA is the favorite to pull off another victory, with the highest TT rating across all 8 riders, the top 5 and the top 3. The next four, Cedevita, Tinkoff, Grieg and Polar are fairly evenly matched with Cedevita having the best overall squad while Polar has the best top end and Tinkoff are the best 5-deep.
Below them are another group of fairly evenly matched teams starting with the top ranked PCT outfit in JURA and going through Minions. JURA have the best full team and can match the others both in top 5 and top 3 although the margins are small. PUMA and Zara have deep teams but their top 3 are not as strong while cycleYorkshire and ELCO are strongest in their top riders but not as deep. Minions and King Power are the weakest in this group but even a slightly better than average day could move them up.
ISA-Hexacta sit on their own with a very solidly balanced squad that almost matches the teams above in terms of overall ratings without having the big guns.
The next group features four teams that are at least capable in the discipline. Binance and Evonik have even strengths across the whole squad while Amaysim and Moser rely on strong leaders.
The remaining teams, starting with Rabobank are likely here only because they have to be. Aker have quite clearly targeted the traditional Evonik role of making everyone else feel better about themselves.
Kandesbunzler has made the trip to Denmark to report on the action.

Basically forfeited this one for XP in favor of sending stage racers to Portugal. Probably a stupid move, but it was the only way that made our leader race days add up right, and we were never gonna do well here anyway. Always sucks to not show on home soil, but we really were never going to. We'll aim for not last.

Hopefully we don't disappoint in comparison to those numbers.
Thanks for the preview.

Sadly the TTT squad hasn't gotten that strong in transfers. Put some decent results in here when we raced on wildcards, but this time it's for real.

Given the length of this TTT and the field here, I'd like to see us pushing for a Top 5! Anything more would be amazing but won't be too optimistic

We lack some strength just behind Würtz, but a fairly strong team. We've done well here in the past and it's of course a very important race for our sponsors. The goal have to be a top five and we're of course hoping for a podium. So many strong teams here, so I think there's certainly 10 teams here, maybe more, who could podium on the right day. Thanks for the preview, may the best team win!

EA Vesuvio really should win this, after the transfer season and how mighty their TTT setup looks. Behind them, though, it looks really, really close. No clue who to predict in 2nd/even challenging Vesuvio for the win!
For us, avoiding last will be sensational, looking at those stats |

First of seven PT wildcards for us this year - and who'd have thought four years ago (when we started the team) that we were ever going to be competitive in a TTT, and even at the highest level
Although there are no points at stake, it's a good first test to see what we can expect in Slovenia and Lithuania, where the TTT lineup will be very similar. Top 10 would be good, Top 5 would be great and a slight overerformance I guess. But we have nothing to lose anyway, which is good
Thanks for the preview, and good luck everyone!

Here for the XP - had I not had talents who could make use of it, I probably would have skipped this race. The best case scenario with only 7 riders is trying to avoid finishing in the bottom two and taking the 5 points for 22nd, then quickly forgetting about TTTs once again |

Thought we had a pretty solid TTT setup. Turns out it’s pretty mediocre. I guess a top 10 is the goal.
Prior to the season I would have hoped to sneak away with 5th or so.

11th is a poor result from the team. Not happy with that. Will need a lot better from the Time Trial squad as the season progresses.
Thank you for the very comprehensive report!

I'm glad to see the averages panned out for us, 2nd place here is our first proper good result in PT. Vesuvio are too good.
Thanks for the nice report

I got my hopes up there! Unfortunately the finish wasn't good enough. EA simply too good, so big congrats to SN. Could obviously have gone either way in the fight for the podium behind, so a bit disappointed to just miss out, but we delivered according to the prediction really, so we have to be happy with that.
Thanks for the report!

That was impressively bad, and makes me think I should have made sure I had enough spare RDs to send a full team. Having to race TTTs is why I miss PCT

Very informative report, thank you, kandesbunzler!
Congratulations on the win, SN. What a mighty TTT force you've built the last couple of seasons.
And if Carlsberg now survives the PT with 5 or less points, I expect bbl to send a huge thank you, as we clearly placed on the same time, but behind, because of that, 22nd being the last place that gave points |

2nd last in the preview, 3rd last in the actual race. Huge day for the boys.
