Gidich save with within the favorite's group is good. I hope in the last hilly stage he can try an attack on the two riders in front of him in GC. There's however also the risk of him losing time to the punchers behind him. So I do hope the stage is not too selective.
Also nice to see 5 of my riders in GC positions 30 to 34. If they manage to stay around there we will get some decent depth points! |

Giving the stage away to the break and Lutsenko not being able to win time are both a bit disappointing.

The expectations really weren't high here but it's a little disappointing to see us slip away after a decent stage 4. We need to be active in breaks from now on but I'm fearful that the AI will pass us over which would mean a very low scoring race.

My riders are treating this race as a vacation it seems. Really dissapointing that they are nowhere to be seen. Not a single rider even remotely close to top 50…

Annoying to see 2 out of 3 hilly stages going to the BOTD in a week-long stage race, but well it is what it is. Maybe because the teams focused so much on the TTT and didn't bring as much horsepower to control the hilly stages?
Anyway, I'm hoping Bobridge can leapfrog Lutsenko tomorrow, but that's all I can ask for I guees, given how far ahead Buchmann and De Plus are.
Congrats on the win Mre!

Congratulations on a great win, Mre!
Nice to see Keizer finally doing something. I fear him trying to get back Burke in the finale and not letting Tanfield take over wasn't super tactical, but at least he tried. Zmorka winning the KoM is simply amazing. Maybe he can even win the points classification as well with a good result tomorrow
Thanks for another superb report, Abhi.

Managed to limit the time loss pretty good, so the top 10 in the GC should be secure. Would happily have taken that before the start of the race, so now I'm hoping for a good TT to finish it off.

Woooo! We actually won something? Wow. Can't believe the peloton allowed a rider of Burke's caliber into the breakaway, and let him have a teammate to help him as well with Stroll. Awesome to see our two Canadians working together to pull off the improbable.
Thanks for the report!

Kiriakidis with a really nice stage here - too bad stage 5 killed of every single rider in our team, otherwise this would have been a very very good race - but not a single rider in top 50 hurt our overall pointscore. It was still above expectations, but due to not getting any GC points unfortunately leveled out the overperformance from stageresults. We expected 80-130 points, and managed 145. It's good, but it could have been a decisive moment for our final PT result.
Congrats to Lierse for a crazy Sajnok performance (again I think?) and to King Power and UBS for major GC results here.
Seeing just how well the puncheurs performed here I guess this would have been the proper pick for Koretzky, but then again - there's no guarantee that Kastrantas had gotten 5th in Luxembourg if it wasn't for him helping Koretzky in the final.
Thanks for the reports!

Undewhelming stage for us with Razumov being best at 27th.
GC-wise as expected Bobridge climbs one place to finish 4th. Not bad, but in hindsight finishing outside the podium here is problematic. Bobridge was not at his best in the single decisive stage here, which made things more random than we hoped, especially seeing how well some of our relegarion rivals seem to fare.
In any case, congratulations on the Bush. Well done again!
Finally thanks for all the steady reports, Abi!

Sajnok going crazy a bit too soon. Really good race from us, too bad it's pointless but yeah, I could never have sent a team like this if it wasn't. Thanks for the reports!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

So basically zmorka is now a better climber than time trialist. Zmorka 42nd, suetterlin 44th, keizer and sterbini also way behind.. honestly don't know how this keeps happening. Thanks for the great reports, Abhi, and congratulations again to all winners

Not the best day for Würtz. Might just be a bit too short of a TT for him to really show his strength.
A good race for us anyway, with APP moving up to 5th, some decent depth and a bunch of top 10s on the stages. Very happy with that, and a much needed good race also!
Thanks for all the reports, Abhi, and congrats to King Power on the win!

Late TT's after hilly or mountainous stages often messes up the pure flat TT'ers. Vlatos was also bad here - not AS bad, but still bad.

Outstanding report. Very happy with Higuitas performance here, though maybe even more was possible looking at final rankings. We came for a white jersey and a Top10 GC and we achieved that, so that's ncie. Fantastic reports throughout, really outstanding!

Really disappointed with the way Rodriguez is riding this season. Not going for GCs, but not seen in the breakaways either. Also, given how shitty our results have been you'd think we'd be more in the breakaways, but nope.
Van Poppel not good enough in the sprints either in this race.
Thanks for the reports!

I was afraid Gidich might beat out Buchmann here and sure enough he does. Nonetheless, 2nd in the GC is a great result and an over-performance given the competition here. This will probably be a highlight of the season when all is said and done. Thanks for the congrats on the stage win and thanks to Abhi for the excellent race.

Well, solid race by Ponzi. Looking forward to see him racing together with Sagan in quite a lot of races this year.
Thanks for the reports!

Pretty terrible PT debut for McNulty, the hills not really his thing and MOL lacking a true leader. So seems to have taken the race off, as did most of the team. Of course that means it could have been Brandon's chance to shine so a missed opportunity.
Hopefully he will bring some more value later in the season.

Too bad Buchmann lost the win on the final meters, but a stage win, being in yellow for a couple of days and ending up 2nd is nice for UBS
Congrats to King Power though, Gidich has become a real beast by now!
And Zmorka KoM, wtf Very welcome points for LPH anyway, and it's really a shame to see that their TTers disappoint in every single race
Thanks for those entertaining reports, great job
